L L to L 42f9SO * - L to l " ' The proparty is situated some 25 miles *aat of the Ontario-Quabec boundary and about 30 miles north of the Canadian National rail Una going to Cochrane.

GEOLOGY The property is within an east-west trending belt of volcanic end sedimentary rocks that extanda acroaa the Quebec-Ontario boundary to a point some piles weat of the boundary. The belt of rocks contains mafic to felsic volcanics and metaeedimenta that have bean intruded by granitic rocks. A major granitic intrusive occupies a good portion of both Newman and Tomlinson townships. This intrusive is surrounded by felsic to intermediate volcanics including rhyolite, dacite, tuffe and breccias. The property surveyed is situated in the southern part of the townships and would appear to cover a portion of the southern contact of the intrusive. SURVEY METHODS AND INSTRUMENT DATA The geophysical surveys wars conducted over previously cut lines et 0 foot intervals, The electromagnetic sur vey wee carried out using a Ceonics EW-17' horizontal loop unit with e 300 foot coil interval* In the horizontal loop type of aurvay both the inphase end out-of-phaee components of the secondary field ara measured, whose apacial characteristics make poaaible a fairly accurate eveluation of the conductivity* A conductor? caused by eulphide mineralization will produce a curve going from positive readings through zero to negative and back again to poeitive. Both the in-phase and out-of-phaee readings show the seme general curve. The ratio between the in phase and out-of-phaae readings over a conductor ia an indication of the conductivity of the body* A good conduc tor would cause a greater deviation of the in-phase com ponent then the out-of-pheae component. The opposite ia true of a poor conductor* The magnetic readings were taken over the same net work of linee using a 8SF-1* flux-gate magnetometer measuring the variations of the vertical component of the earth's magnetic field* Readings ware plotted aa gemmae on a separate map after correction for diurnal variation*

The results of the electromagnetic and magnetic surveys ere plotted on separate maps on a scale of 0 feet to the inch with the conductive rones superimposed on the magnetic map to aid in the interpretation. The magnetic map shows an irregular anomaly in the western portion of the property with readings of over 1,000 gemmae compared to e background of about 600 gammea, Dithin thie magnetic anomaly there art several short fairly strong conductive zones but it is difficult to determine if they have coincident magnetic high*. The magnetic anomaly may represent en altered zone along a geological contact or possibly a small basic plug. Further east, starting near Tomlinson Lake, there is a discontinuous weak magnetic anomaly extending eestu/ards across most of the property. It seems likely that this represents a geological contact, either granite-volcanic or a contact between two types of volcanic rocks, following this assumed contact which probably contains alteration and shearing, there is a series of conductive zonee, eome of which are quite continuous* The conductivity ia variable but ia quite strong in places. The conductors ere generally narrow and the dip near vertical. All of the conductors have similar character istics and are likely to represent the same type of conduc tive materiel* From the continuity of the conductors, one would suepect that they represent graphitic ronee with or without sulphides. The conductors do not appear to have coincident magnetic anomalies with the possible exception of the southerly conductor Just eaat of Tomlinson lake* This rone should have the beet chance of containing eulphide mineralizetion. CONCLUSIONS AND RECDftlfflENDATIONS The geologicel environment on the property ia favor able for sulphide mineralization'and the geophysical sur veys indicate en east-west contact or structural zone extending across moat of the property* Associated with this zona is a series of conductora that poaeibly contains graph?* ite with or without eulphide mineralization* The conductora

4 - 4 - PROSPECTING GEOPHYSICS LTD. are ell quite similar and tht one most liktly to contain sulphides is just east of Tomlinson lake. In addition to this major structural zone f there ia a magnetic anomaly in the western portion of the property that contains some short fairly strong conduetora that warrant investigation* It is recommended that the geophysical data be correlated with all available geological date to determine priorities for investigation by drilling.
