3 LOCATION AND ACCESS The Minefinders property is approximately 18 kilometres east of Lake Nipigon and i 9 kilometres north-northeast of the town of Beardmore, in the central part of Pifher Township. The northern part of the property is at longitude 87O50'W and latitude 49o57'N. The property can be reached with a two wheel drive vehicle by proceeding north on Highway 801 from its junction with Highway 11 some 23 kilometres east of Beard more. Approximately 20 kilometres north of the junction, just past the bridge over Crooked Green Creek, a narrow mine-access road leading south branches off to the left. This road is followed for approximately 2 kilometres, to a fork, and the left fork taken. Alder overgrowth along this left fork of the road was removed with a bulldozer in The road ends at Crooked Green Creek, at an old former bridge crossing. This point is at the eastern boundary of the property, at the number one post of the most southeasterly claim (Claim ). CLAIMS The Minefinders property comprises the following twelve contiguous claims:

4 -2- The claims are registered in the name of S. Cowan, c/o Northern Concentrators Limited, P.O. Box 326, Station "F", Thunder Bay, Ontario, P7C 4V9. PREVIOUS EXPLORATION Laird (1935, p. 115) reported the following: "Minefinders Limited holds a group of 9 unsurveyed claims just west of the third rapids upstream on Crooked Green Creek. A trail leads north from the rapids to the workings, less than half a mile distant. A auartz vein 3 feet wide is exposed on the east side of a hill and in the bed of a stream; it strikes NIQOW and dips 45QW. The auartz contains a little pyrite and ankerite, and is reported to have yielded spectac ular gold specimens." The old trenches can still be seen in and alongside the creek bed near the number one post for Claim Just up the hill from these old workings, on the west side of the creek, several boxes of old drill core were found in 1983 and are evidence of an attempt to intersect the quartz vein down dip. In the northwestern part of the property several rusty quartz veins cutting diabase have been chipped and broken by prospectors many years ago. The property was mapped by the writer in 1983 July and a report on the geology submitted as assessment work in 1984 September.

5 -3- SURVEY DETAILS The survey was supervised by, and the results herewith submitted as assessment work by: M.F. Cowan 5196 Sonora Drive North Vancouver, B.C. V7R 3V6 The claims covered by the survey are numbers to in clusive, to inclusive, and The survey was conducted during the period 1984 June 30 to July 4 inclusive. Magnetometer readings were taken and recorded every 50 metres along north-south lines spaced 100 metres apart, utilizing the grid established on the property in 1983 July. Readings were also recorded every 50 metres along the baseline and north and south boundaries of the pro perty. The instrument used in the survey was a McPhar M700 fluxgate magne tometer which measures the vertical component of the earth's magnetic field. It measures from zero to t 100,000 gammas in five ranges with a maximum sensitivity of 20 gammas per scale division on the 1000 gamma range. To take a reading, an appropriate scale was selected, and the in strument activated while hand held and levelled with the operator's shoulders aligned approximately in a north-south direction.

6 Readings at a designated base station were recorded at the beginning and end of each day's traverse in order to monitor any significant diurnal magnetic variations in the earth's field. The maximum base station drift was 115 gammas over 11.5 hours. Since magnetic variations of less than 500 gammas were not considered significant, no modification of the readings utilizing the base station data have been made. An inflatable boat was used to take readings across the ponds. Control of stations over water was by sighting to stations on land and measuring distances with a hip chain. RESULTS Magnetic readings ranged from a low of zero to a high of 950 gammas at 900W/850N where the bedrock is diabase just north of its contact with the inter mediate volcanic rocks to the south. The next highest reading was 600 gammas recorded at I200W/850N, again over the diabase. With the exception of the two weak anomalies represented by these readings, the contoured magnetic data shows a flat relief over the entire property. CONCLUSIONS The ground magnetic survey indicates the Minefinders property is characterized by generally low magnetic relief. A weak anomaly at 900W/850N over diabase very close to its contact with the volcanics to the south would be worthwhile inves tigating in detail to determine if it is in any way associated with an ore-bearing structure or with concentrations of ore minerals.
