6 DASH LAKE RESOURCES Airborne VLF Electromagnetic Survey At the request of Dash Lake Resources, Ager, Berretta and Associates Inc. flew a VLF electromagnetic survey over the Dash Lake claim group north of Pipestone Lake, approx imately 75 kilometres north of Fort Frances, Ontario (Figure 1) The intent of the work was to delineate geological structures known to be present and to investigate the probability of mineralization being associated with these structures. Survey Procedures and Equipment The survey was flown from Dryden airport. Flight lines are oriented east-west with north-south tie lines as indicated on Figure 3. East-west lines are 200 metres apart and were flown at an altitude of approximately 60 metres above ground. Airspeed during the survey was approximately 120 km per hour. The survey was flown on August 12 in a Bell 206 Jet Ranger chartered from Heli Voyageur Helicopters. A total of 120 line kilometres were covered within the originally planned survey area. Over 150 kilometres of data are recorded on the attached map. Flight navigation was visual. Fiducial marks were recorded on a 1:50,000 topographic map and simultaneously on the data output sheet. VLF equipment specifications are contained in Appendix I. Both Seattle and Annapolis VLF stat ions were received.

7 (4) Geologic Environment The survey area lies on the south-east contact of a large quartz porphyry and older basic Keewatin volcanics ranging from basalt to andesite. immediately south of the contact. A major shear or fault zone occurs A highly massive body of * pre-algoman quartz-gabbro lies to the south of the volcanics. In some areas, the apparent contact between the quartz porphyry and younger volcanics is visible on aerial photographs. The contact zone includes areas of shearing and cross faulting, some of which have returned good gold assays. Interpretation Two significant anomalous characteristics have been ob served in the VLF data. indicative of a narrow conductive median. One is localized field strength highs, The second is shifts in field strength, indicative of a change in rock type, i.e. crossing a major contact. The VLF responses appear to have two significant trends, along or parallel to the quartz porphyry/younger volcanics contact, and north-west, south-east, at approximate right angles to the contact. cross faulting. The latter phenomena may be due to Significant anomalous zones are as follows;(figure 3) 1. The contact position can be determined from aerial photo graphs in this region. Weak VLF responses were recorded on lines 18, 19, and 20, and a stronger response (8%) was noted on line 22. This anomaly should be located on the ground and further investigated. 8 (5) 2. This feature extends from line 23 {strong response), paral lel to the assumed contact, north through line 16. The anomaly follows topographic features {center line of Black Bay) suggesting that the source is a major fault or con tact. Investigations on line 21 may shed some light on the source of this response. 3. This set of anomalous readings is also parallel to the contact and, although of lower priority, bears location and investigation on the ground. 4. Changes in field strength here suggests the contact location. A coincident field strength high on line 12 renders this a prime target for further investigation. 5. This response is similar to 4, and warrants further ground follow-up due to the observance of VLF responses adjacent to the contact location. 6. This anomaly appears to be a significant cross structure associated with intermittant VLF highs, one of which is at the intersection of the contact and cross structure. Further investigation warranted. 7. This group of anomalies may be a northern extension of 3. Responses were obtained here from both the east-west and the north-south survey lines. No distinct orientation is indicated but some of the anomalies are relatively strong (10%). A number of other less significant anomalies were observed (eg. anomaly 8 which is underwater, and other isolated res ponses as shown), but their priority is lower than those out lined above. As the local geology becomes better understood, the significance of some of these may increase and priorities may shift. Recommendations The obtaining of favourable gold values in the past in creases the potential of the airborne anomalies indicated above. Precise location of these anomalies on the ground and further geological investigation are therefore recommended. If the geological environment appears favourable, a trenching and/or drilling program should follow.

9 APPENDIX I (6) INSTRUMENT SPECIFICATIONS Sabre Electronics Airborne VLF Electromagnetic System The bird, towed 15 metres below the aircraft, contains two, simultaneously operating omni-directional VLF receivers and amplifiers tuned to separate very low frequency submarine/ long range radio transmitting stations. This unit is currently tuned to the following two stations: Seattle, Washington 18.6 KHz Annapolis, Maryland 21.4 KHz The instrument measures horizontal field strength of the very low frequency electromagnetic fields initiated from desig nated radio stations. The primary electromagnetic field pro pagated in undisturbed areas is horizontal. Conductivity con trasts within the earth create secondary fields resulting in variations yield the VLF anomalies which are recorded by this instrument. Sensors: ferrite antennae coils, one for each frequency, mounted in bird. Output: per cent field strength analog meters, one for each frequency; : terminals for data output to any desired data recording system; : analog strip chart recorder with variable scale deflection (standard setting is 100% for full scale) and separate pens for each frequency.
