3 GEOPHYSICAL AND GEOLOGICAL REPORT ON ROYAL 1 CLAIMS SITUATE NORTHEAST OF TILLICUM MOUNTAIN GOLD AREA BURTON- NAKUSP SLOCAN MINING DIVISION INTRODUCTION This report is prepared at the request of Mr. William Howden, Mining Executive, Vancouver, British Columbia on behalf of Academy Resources Ltd., a Vancouver-based Mining Company. It is based upon field work done in September and October, 1982 and from 20 July to 28 July, The physical aspects of the property are amply dealt with in the appended geological report dated 10 January, 1983 and is included as part of this report. JULY 1983 WORK A geophysical and geological crew was sent to New Denver to survey the Royal 1 Claim group. It consisted of Mr. George McConnell, P. Eng., Consulting Geologist, and Mr. Jack Magrath, prospector, both of Vancouver, British Columbia. The work was under the direct supervision of Mr. R.E. Renshaw, P. Eng., Consulting Geologist, of Vancouver, British Columbia. Six kilometers of grid lines were cut, blazed and marked with stations every 25 meters over the ~outbepn portions of the claims. *

4 I NSTRUMENT The survey was conducted with a Scintrex MP 2 proton precision magnetometer. It has a resolution of 1 gamma mea'suring the total vertical intensity of the magnetic field. Because of the wide spacing of the lines, con- touring was not deemed feasible as it could lead to erron- eous results. files. However, the results are pl~tted as pro- INTERPRETATION The magnetic field in the area is generally "flat", with only a few gammas variation between sta- tions, as a rule. ' One area of interest is located in the vicinity of 1600 West on Line 0, where a plus 150 gamma anomaly is noted. The geological observations obtained during the survey indicated a contact zone between the metasediments and metavolcanics, and the quartz monzonite intrusives of Kuspanax batholith runs east-west through the property at approximately 600 South. The sediments have a slightly lower magnetic value than the intrusives. ' The metasediments are a fine-grained, dark, rusty weathering rock. are quartz and pyrite. The only recognizable minerals

5 The quartz monzonite is usually medium-grained with plagioclase and feldspar crystal up to 3 millimeters in length. Little or no mica is present. Some amphibole occurs. The work done by the above work completes Phase 1 of my January 1983 report. A Phase 2 program of further detailed geophysics, bulldozer stripping and diamond drilling is warranted.
