3 Report on the Willow and Willow 1 Mining Claims 16 August 1988 SUMMARY At the request of J. Ruza of Ruza Resources Ltd., the author was engaged to write a report to present data gathered by Mr. Ruza during 30 May to 3 June The work performed consisted of 18.5 km of grid work, 70 soil samples (of which 40 were analyzed) and 7 rock samples. The work program was performed by Mr. Ruza with the author being retained only to present the data and make conclusions and recommendations concerning the property. The author has not been to the property. w A) Prooertv Location The property is located near the junctions of Slough Creek and the Willow River which is approximately 12 km west of Wells, British Columbia. Access is gained by following a gravel road along Slough Creek after leaving a paved highway at Devils Lake. Other roads are found within the claim boundaries provide good access. A four wheel drive vehicle is recommended. Page 1

C) History of the Area Interest in the area dates back to 1858 when placer mining commenced. By the 1880's hard rock mining was taking place. The area is found in the "Barkerville Gold Belt". Placer mining has taken place in the immediate area of the claims from these early times to the present. It has long been '+Ud recognized thathere is a close spatial relationship between placer gold and lode gold deposits. Lode gold mines in the area include the Mosquito Creek Gold Mine, Burns Mtn. Mine, Island Mtn., Cariboo Gold Quartz, Canusa and Williams Creek Gold mines. The type of ore mined included both pyritic replacement bodies in limestone and goldquartz veins. The Burns Mtn. mine is located 10 km southeast of the claim area. Production took place from 1879 to 1946 from goldquartz veins. The Mosquito Creek mine is located 10 km northwest of the property. Between October 1980 to October 1983 they had continuous production of 2000 ton:? per month of replacement 'ore Page 3

7 with a head grade of.45 opt Au. Interest was drawn to the area in 1983 when test holes for w placer turned up pyrite and galena from bedrock near the junction of Willow River and Montgomery Creek.. VLF surveys were performed by Lacana Mining Corp. in Aug 1983 on the ground which was then the SIT claim consisting of 16 units. The survey only showed moderate conductors in areas known to contain overburden about 15 meters deep and suggested using geophysical methods which would provide better penetration. D) General Geolosv According to Geological Survey of Canada Map 7235 (Campbell et.al. 1973) the claims are underlain by the Snowshoe Group sediments of Proterozoic age. A later interpretation by Struik (1981Open File 858) indicates that the sediments 'bd underlying the area may be Devonian to Missippian in age. All rocks in the area have been subjected to greenschist metamorphism. E) Purvose of the Work Prosram The purpose of the grid work, prospecting and geochemical programs was to provide preliminary data from which further programs could be planned. F) Results and InterDretation The sample locations are presented on the map (Fig. 3). The results of analyses are found in Appendix 1 of this report. Page 5

9 Rock samples N1 N7 were not analyzed for gold, samples N4 N7 show significant anonalits ih As. N4 (quartz float) shows ws' 67.7 ppm in Ag, 2980 ppm As, 1075 Cu, 708 Pb and 623 Zn which indicates that it came from a quartz vein with significant base metal values. The soil samples were anlayzed only for Au, Cu, Zn and Ag. Samples LOlS, L02S, L1E0, L1E1S show high AU anomalies which considering they came from areas known to contain placer gold is not surprising. The base metals in the soils show no significant correlation with the rock sample anomalies. G) Conclusions and Recommendations Gold values in soils along Montgomery Creek, the known placer occurences in the creek, the lack of soil anomalies to. the east of the creek and lack of positive prospecting results W west of the creek suggesthat effortshould take place directly south of Montgomery Creek to find the source of placer gold. Results from analyses of the rock samples suggest that soils should be analyzed for arsenic and lead in addition of Au, Cu, Zn and Ag. Any further rock samples taken should be analyzed for gold. Further work on the property should consist of grid wosk above known placer producing streams, geological mapping, prospecting and soil geochemistry. 16 August 1988 Paye 6
