3 -1- SUMMARY The Patsy 1 claim, totalling 12 units, is located in the Similkameen Mining Division of British Columbia approximately 7 kilometers southwest of He dle y. It is underlain by Upper Triassic Nicola Group volcanics and sediments which are poorly exposed on the western and eastern margins of the claim. Elsewhere, the geology is completely covered by alluvium. Geochemical soil sampling programs conducted in 1983 and 1984 recorded a number of sites slightly elevated in gold. Only one sample, which assayed 1320 ppb gold, was highly anomalous. A magnetometer survey was recommended following the 1984 program. During September 7 to 9, 1988 a magnetometer survey was run over the northwestern part of the claim. This area includes a number of the sample locations which are slightly elevated in gold, as well as the one which is highly anomalous. The results of the magnetometer survey show very little change in the total magnetic field over the area surveyed. These results indicate that the geology underlying the survey area is fairly uniform, i.e. probably all tuffaceous and sedimentary Nicola Group rocks similar to those seen in limited outcrops. d

4 INTRODUCTION The writer, at the request of Vandorex Energy Corporation, conducted a magnetometer survey over a part of the Patsy I claim. The purpose of the survey was to attempt to trace geology and structures beneath the mostly overburden-covered claim. A magnetometer survey was recommended by Tully (1984) in his Addendum to the report by Hulme (1984). The above report was prepared upon the completion of a geochemical soil survey conducted on the property in A magnetometer survey was conducted over the northwestern part of the claim during September 7 to 9, This survey covered an area from which a limited number of isolated soil samples returned slightly elevated values in gold. This survey will be filed as assessment work. Location and Access ' 30" North Latitude 1 to approximate centre I' 30'' West Longitude 1 of claim The Patsy 1 claim is located in the Similkameen Mining Division of British Columbia seven kilometres west-southwest of Hedley and 25 kilometres southeast of Princeton. It is situated on Whistle Creek, a northeasterly flowing tributary of Similkameen River (Figures 1 and 2). Topography and Vegetation Whistle Creek flows northeasterly through the claim while Pettigrew Creek approximates the claim's eastern boundary. Between the two creeks slopes are steep to very steep, especially adjacent to Pettigrew Creek. To the west of Whistle Creek slopes are generally more moderate, but locally are also very steep adjacent to an easterly trending gulley situated in the northwestern part of the claim.

7 -3- Second growth and mature fir cover most of the claim. Alder is common along the creeks. Much of the claim's area was selectively logged many years ago, with the result that local patches of dense second growth fir are common. Elevations range from approximately 760 metres in Whistle Creek at the northern claim boundary to 1,310 metres along the western claim boundary. History and Previous Work The history of the Hedley Mining Camp has been well documented by various government geologists and will not be repeated here. No significant work is reported in the literature as having been done on the ground now covered by the Patsy I claim prior to In 1983, Vandorex Energy Corp. conducted a reconnaissance geological mapping and soil survey on the Patsy 1 claim. Most samples returned gold assays of 5 ppb Au, but a scattering of assays in the range ppb Ail were obtained. Spot highs of 1320, 110 and 65 ppb Au were also obtained. Arsenic assays ranged from 2 ppm As to a high of 49 ppm As.

8 -4- In 1984 the soil survey was expanded to cover most of the claim with 611 soil samples being collected. Detailed sampling was done in the vicinity of the 1983 weakly anomalous gold sample sites. The results of this sampling indicated all weakly to strongly anomalous sample sites found in 1983 were one station anomalies. No trends were developed (see Hulme, 1984). General Geology GEOLOGY The Hedley area is underlain by Upper Triassic Nicola Group volcanics and sediments into which were intruded small ultrabasic and large granite bodies of late Mesozoic Age. The latter intrusives almost surround the Nicola Group rocks, which in the general Princeton area consist of a thick succession of lavas through which are irregularly distributed lenses of tuffaceous and argillaceous rocks and occasional beds of limestone. In the Nickel Plate Mine area, located 8 km east-northeast of the subject property, most of the sedimentary strata have been strongly metamorphosed to skarn by the intrusion of many sills and dykes into impure limy sediments. Gold mineralization associated with arsenopyrite occurs in skarn zones adjacent to diorite-gabbro sills and dyke. Property Geology Outcrop is very sparse in the area covered by the magnetometer survey. It is restricted to an east-southeast trending gulley located near the centre of the grid. In this area, talus and outcrop consist of dark greenish-grey, fine to medium grained;andesitic tuffs, volcanic sandstones and minor argillite. These rocks are generally massive but locally show well developed northeast striking, steeply dipping bedding. Similar rocks are reported to outcrop (Hulme, 1984) on the high ground between Whistle and Pettigrew Creeks. HAROLD M. JONES 6 ASSOCIATES INC.

9 - 5 - SURVEYPROCEDURE The survey was conducted by a geologist and one field assistant. An attempt was made to reestablish the 1984 soil grid. Most of the old flagging is now gone and those remaining are difficult to read. It was found to be much quicker to run new lines. The 1984 station marking line 8 south, west was located and used as a starting point. The west station was reestablished on this line, from which a baseline was run 800 metres north and 200 metres south. Grid lines were then established at each 100 metre station on the baseline and run for 1,000 metres to the west. Stations were marked at each 25 metre interval along each grid line. All surveying was done using a Silva Compass and hip chain. Each line was well flagged and all stations were marked with two contrasting coloured flags, upon which the appropriate coordinates were m ar ked. The magnetometer was run along the baseline to establish base station readings. The magnetometer was then run along each line, taking readings at every 25 metre station. Most lines were run as loops, out on one line and back on the next one. Ties were made to the base stations upon completing each loop. A Scintrex MP-2 proton precession magnetometer, serial no , was used on the survey. It measured the total magnetic field. All readings were in the 56,000 gamma range. For convenience in drafting, only those values in excess of 56,000 gammas are plotted on the map (Figure 3).

10 -6- RESULTS Magnetic readings over the grid showed very little variation. They ranged from a low of 56,549 to a high of 56,792 gammas. Most readings were in the 56,630 to 56,690 gamma range. Base station closures were slight, generally gammas. Because the variations were small, the raw data was plotted without applying any diurnal corrections. Also, the range in values was too slight to justify contouring the data. The magnetic data does not indicate any geological or structural trends. It also does not differentiate between areas of talus and outcrop from overburden-covered areas. CONCLUSION The magnetometer survey data does not indicate any significant geological differences within the grid. It is concluded that the entire survey area is underlain by tuffaceous and sedimentary rocks similar to those seen in limited outcrops and talus. Respectfully submitted,. ~~
