3 -- INTODUCTION The writer was commissioned by Mr. Herman Plank, President of Agio Resources Corporation, to carry out assessment work over the Mission Group with a value in excess of $5, to keep the claims in good standing for one more year. A program of soil sampling (78), grid preparation (34.2 line km), geological mapping (3 square km) and VLF-EM surveying (32 line km) was carried out by Peter Pet0 and Andy Dupras from 22 to 30 September, 986, and the results are presented herein for asssessment credit. PROPERTY, LOCATION, ACCESS & PHYSIOGRAPHY The Mission Group consists of 46 contiguous claims recorded in the Osoyoos Mining Division as listed below: NAME UNITS RECORD NO. EXPIRY DATE FLINT Nov. 989 MISSION May 989 GAMMA Oct. 986 ALFA Oct. 986 I ON Oct. 986 The claims are located 5 km south of Hedley (Figure ) which is located 50 km east of Princeton and 80 km southeast of Penticton. The claims are accessed from highway 3 via the Whistle Creek logging road and thereafter by the Johns Creek upper branch to km 7. The claims cover semiarid, forested, valley and ridge topography at elevations between 3800 to 5000 feet. The area has been partly logged and is covered by glacial deposits. PREVIOUS WORK The Mission property was first explored in 936 by means of open cuts and a shallow shaft on a zinc-silver and gold showing occuring as fracture-fillings in granodiorite. A limited program of soil sampling and electromagnetic surveying was carried out over the Mission showing by White (972) on behalf of Austro-Can Explorations Ltd. About 5 km of I.P. survey was carried out by White (980) over the Flint claim and 490 feet of diamond drilling in 4 holes was undertaken by Agio Resources Corp. (Phendler, 98) who also recomm-

4 - 2 - ended that "additional geochemicai, geophysical. (VLF-EM) be carried out on the remainder of the Mission claim," (p.2.). A flagged grid was therefore put in to cover the Mission claim as shown in figure 2. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY The Mission showing consists of a north trending shear zone, 3 to 5 meters wide, cutting altered granodiorite from which narrow, east-trending, cross fractures carry arsenopyrite, sphalerite and pyrite with low values in silver and gold. Previous work has indicated that the mineralized area is covered by soils anomalous in silver, zinc and arsenic, and is underlain by VLF-EM conductors and an induced polarization anomaly. The present survey was intended to place these in a broader geological context as shown in figure 3. The present mapping on :2500 scale clearly indicates that much of the Mission claim is underlain by an apophyses of granodiorite belong- ing to the Cahill pluton. The apophyses separates calcareous sediments to the north from black argillites to the south. The Mission shoving occurs along the southern contact zone. Collectively the sediments belong to the Hedley Formation of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group. Five rock units have been distinguished and they are as follows: Unit 5: dark grey, fine grained, andesite dykes of probable tertiary age. Unit 4 : Unit 3: Unit 2: Unit : grey, medium grained biotite-hornblende granodiorite belonging to the Cahill pluton of Middle Jurassic age. undifferentiated, grey to black, fine grained, tuffaceous argillites, limy argillites and gritstones locally metamorphosed to spotted hornfels or rusty, fine grained brown hornfels. thinly bedded, grey and brown, impure, fine, (argillaceous) limestones. grey, coarse grained, massive marble. Units and 2 are probably correlative with Bostock's (940) "Sunnyside Formation" and Unit 3 with his "Henry Formation". Beds strike northerly, are highly folded and dip subvertically. The rocks are locally altered and generally much fractured in close proximity to the granodiorite. No diorite/gabbro dykes or sills of the Hedley intrusions were observed.

5 - 3 - VLF-EM SURVEY The geological grid was also surveyed by means of a Sabre model No. 27 VLF-EM using Hawaii frequency of 23.4 khz. Dip-angles and relative field strength measurements were taken at 25 meter station intervals and plotted on Figure 4. plotted and contoured on Figure 5. Conductors A-A', B-B', C-C', D-D' occur within black argillites, are relatively strong and persistant, conform to regional strike and may therefore represent carbonaceous beds within the Henry Formation. Conductor E-E' is clearly a structural feature since it conforms to a strong topographic lineament. Conductors F-F' and G-G' may represent a conductivity contrast between the sediments and granodiorite and therefore could trace the contact zone. Conductors H-H' and -' are thought to be due to contact effect between dykes and sediment. The other conductors J-J', K-K', etc. occur within the granite and may represent a series of en echelon shear zones. No discernable' conductor appears to coincide with the Mission showing using the Hawaii frequency. GEOCHEMICAL SURVEY A total of 78 soil samples were collected from lines loos, 0, loon and 200N, east of the Mission showing. They were collected by means of a mattock, 6 inchee (5 cm) below surface, placed in kraft bags and sent to Acme Analytical Laboratories for AA geochemical determination of gold from 0 gram splits of the -80 mesh fraction. The results are plotted on Figure 6 and listed in the appendix of this report. With the exception of one contaminated soil taken below the stripped area, they yielded only background concentrations of gold. The area sampled is underlain by granodior- ite and yield soils anomalous in Ag, As and Zn previously (White, 972). INTERPRETATION Geological, geochemical and geophysical data are compiled and plotted on Figure 6. White's (972) EM-conductor is located approximately however the transmitter frequency is not given. It appears to coincide roughly with VLF-EM conductors B-B', C-C' and G-G'. In addition the 30 and 42 millisecond chargeability contours and the

6 ohm-meter resistivity contours obtained by White (980) are also plotted. Clearly there is a good correlation between the VLF-EM conductors and the IP anomalies. They are underlain by argillites and hornfels of the Henry Formation (Unit 3) and they appear to fade out beyond the intrusive contact. The presence of abundant sulphide in altered granodiorites around the Mission showing lends itself to the possibility that a As-Ag-Zn-Au sulphide-bearing hornfels may occur to the southwest in the area of the geophysical anomalies. It would therefore be appropriate to carry out additional soil and rock-chip sampling over this area. This could be followed by 500 meters of diamond drilling as suggested by White (980) and Phendler (98), if anomalous values of Au, Ag, As and Zn were thereby encountered.
