INTRODUCTION The HAM claims were staked in February 1971, on the basis of the interpretation of the government aeromagnetic map (G.S.C. Map 5226 G, Geophysics Paper 5226, Sheet 92-P-16) by Mr. R.O. Crosby of Seigel Associates Ltd., Vancouver, B.C. Field work was done by the writer, accompanied by H. Vannerus and C. Kyme, in three occasions, May 9, May 22-24, and October 26 - November 4, It consisted of geological prospecting and geochemical soil sampling. Examination of the claim posts showed, that staking was done in accordance with the Mineral Act of British Columbia. Photogeological study of the airphotographs was done by Mr. S.S. Tan of L.J. Manning & Associates, Vancouver B.C. and the results are also summarized in this report. 2. PROPERTY, LOCATION, ACCESS The property consists of the following fifty-six (56) contiguous mineral claims, fully owned by BALFOUR MINING LTD. 4 PROPERTY, LOCATION, ACCESS (Cont 'd) 1 The property is located in t.ie Green Lake Area Clinton Mining Division, B.C. House, on Latitude 51O17' N. about nine (9) m iles east of 70 Mile and Longtitude 121O14' w, and on NTS Sheet 92-P-6. It is at an elevation of 3,500 feet, with a maxi- mum relief of 100 feet.. The claim group is easily accessible by the road from 70 Mile House, and no one point on the property is further than two (2) miles from the existing roads. Timber and water for camping and exploration purposes are available, and climate permits exploration activity throughout the year. 3. HISTORY During the field work, the writer found several old claim posts on the property. Searching in the Mining Recording Office in Clinton, B.C. revealed that the property was staked in 1966 by L.E. Timmons, as an agent for A. Mattson of Vancouver, B.C. After one year, it was abandoned with no further work done. In the last few years, mining exploration activities in the general vicinity were carried out by several major companies.

5 GEOLOGY The general geology is shown on the GSC Map Bonaparte River, B.C. 92-P, Scale 1" = 4 Miles. The property is underlain by tertiary volcanic rocks, probably covering middle jurassic granitic intrusives, that appear on the surface, about four (4) miles east of the claims. In the interpretation of the airborne magnetic map by Mr. R.O. Crosby, the low magnetic anomaly is shown to represent hydrotermally altered intrusive rocks, under a shallow cover of young volcanics. A north-south magnetic lineament is shown as a major fault structure. Geological prospecting, carried on by the 1 writer did not accomplish outcrops of tertiary lava 5. PHOTOGEOLOGY much because only several small rock had been discovered. Photogeological study of the property area was made by Mr. S.S. Tan of L.J. Manning & Associates, Vancouver, B.C. The interpretation is shown on the map, figure 2, 1" = % Mile. This study revealed a number of lineaments, probably representing major fractures. Two circular and associated radial linear patterns suggest the existence of possible sub-surface domal structures, both adjacent to the magnetic lineament. One of them is co-incident with a magnetic low possible hydrotermally U altered area.

6 PHOTOGEOLOGY In recommendations for further exploration work this structure is suggested to be a primary target area. 6. GEOCHEMISTRY A geochemical soil exploration has been con- ducted on the property. A total of 186 samples were taken along the claim location lines and along the trails, for a total length of about 12 m iles. Spacing between samples was irregular, de- pending upon soil, but not less than 100' and seldom exceeding 400'. The samples were taken from shallow holes by the mattock, chiefly from the brown, oxidized "B" horizon. They were packed in standard soil sample bags, marked and dried up. Topographic and vegetation characteristics were recorded, and sample stations were clearly marked. Assaying was done by Vancouver Geochemical Laboratories Ltd. for Cu., Mo, and Ag. Only 10 samples were assayed by Crest Laboratories Ltd. The soil sample locations and all values were plotted on the 1" = Mile Maps (Figs. 3-6) Vancouver Geochemical Laboratories Ltd. report having processed the samples as follows: 1. 8 -6-6. GEOCHEMISTRY Soil sample results are not encouraging. Except for several locations, all values Cu, Mo, and Ag remained in the background and threshold zones. Explanation for these results could be found in the thickness of glacial till, and also the possibility that altered intrusives, if present, remained covered by a thick cover of volcanic rocks on the whole property area.
