2 - l - GEOPHYSICAL REPORT GEONICS V.L.F. E.M.-16 ANOMALY #15 - CHABANEL TOWNSHIP SAULT STE. MARIE MINING DIVISION INTRODUCTION This report deals with a Geonics V.L.F. E.M.-16 survey which was conducted over a seven claim group held by The Algoma Steel Corporation, Limited. The claims surveyed at this time are SSM542986, SSM , SSM , SSM , SSM , SSM and SSM CLAIM STATUS The claims are held by The Algoma Steel Corporation, Limited and were acquired on July 30, LOCATION AND ACCESS The claims are located approximately at mid point in Chabanel Township. The south west corner of claim SSM is approximately 3,000 feet east of the old Steep Hill Falls Dam on the Magpie River. The claims are accessible by road; the old Steep Hill Falls road. This road commenced behind the Algoma Steel Sinter Plant and winds along the Magpie River for approximately 12.6 miles. The claim group is located approximately at the 9.6 mile post. TOPOGRAPHY Numerous hills are located within the group. Outcropping is predominate. Several lakes are located within the group. The more predominate one is located within claim SSM No trees are evident within the claim group. Meadow grass is predominate on the boulder and gravel plains. PREVIOUS WORK No evidence of previous work having been carried out was recorded. old badly weathered claim posts were noticed. Several PURPOSE OF THE SURVEY To investigate several anomalous areas outlined by a geophysical survey flown for The Algoma Steel Corporation, Limited, in March 1980.

3 - 2 - RESULTS OF SURVEY Two parallel conductors were outlined throughout the entire line grid. The nore predominate of the two is located on the north side of the base line at approximately 600 feet. The overall strike length of the two conductors is 4,800 feet. Several minor isolated conductive zones were outlined on the southwest corner of the grid. METHOD OF SURVEY A line grid totalling 4.4 miles of cross line and base line was established over the entire claim block. A hubbed base line was established off which cross sectional lines were turned off at 90O. Cross sectional lines were established at 400 foot intervals. Chainage pickets were established at 100 foot intervals. V.L.F. E.M. readings were recorded at 100 foot intervals. 182 readings were recorded. TYPE OF INSTRUMENT Geonics V.L.F. E.M.-16 Unit.
