3 L. O INTRODUCTION During July, 1984, a magnetic survey was carried out on the claims on the Newman-Todd property in order to assist in defining the geology. 2.O LOCATION. ACCESS AND GRID The property consists of 9 claims located 25 kilometers west of Red Lake, Ontario, in the Thunder Bay Mining Division. Claim numbers are: TB , TB , TB , inclusive inclusive inclusive Access to the property is by plane or boat. The 11.2 line kilometer grid consists of 14 picket lines controlled by 1.2 kilometers of baseline. Picket lines were established at 100-meter intervals with a station spacing of 25 meters. 3.0 PERSONNEL The overall supervision of the work was by D. R. Carriere, Division Geophysicist. Helpers were D. Finley and J. Maclsaac. 4.0 INSTRUMENTATION 4.l Magnetometer The "Unimag" G.836 Proton precession magnetometer manufactured by Exploranium Geometrics of Ontario was utilized on this survey. The Total Field measurement is read with a resolution of 10 nts and all recorded values were corrected for diurnal and day-to-day variations. The correction values were determined from repeat stations taken at a base station. Readings were recorded at 25-meter intervals and plotted in plan at a datum of 59,000 nts. 5.0 GEOLOGY The property lies in the southwest part of the Red Lake Greenstone Belt at the interface of a ealc-aikaline sequence and a mafic sequence. The main trends are northeast with dips of about 70 0 to the northwest. Regionally there is good deal of carbonatization.

6 O DISCUSSION OF RESULTS The data collected indicates a great deal of variation on the property, from nts to nts. As a result, the magnetics produce a fairly confused picture. Basically, the property can be divide into 5 zones labelled A through E. The majority of the trends are northeast. Zone A is a region of high magnetics with individual linears within the zone. The region is probably outlining the area covered by the peridotite in the part of the property. Zone B is an area of relatively flat magnetics in the range of nts. This zone outlines the area occupied by rhyolites. Zone C is a broad (700m) region of high.magnetics with a number of individual anomalies. This zone outlines an area occupied mainly by peridotite. The individual anomalies may represent different flows or iron formations within the broader package. Zone D is marked as an area of low magnetics ( nts), about 150 meters wide and is indicating the area occupied by sediments. Zone E is in the range of Q nts and is indicating the southern limit of another rhyolitic unit. 7.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The results of the survey have assisted in defining the limits of some of the geological units. Also some of the magnetic units in the peridotites may be related to iron formation and therefore have some economic potential. 13 Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Notice of Intent for Technical Reports /39/85 An examination of your survey report indicates that the requirements of The Ontario Mining Act have not been fully met to warrant maximum assessment work credits. This notice is merely a warning that you will not be allowed the number of assessment work days credits that you expected and also that in approximately 15 days from the above date, the mining recorder will be authorized to change the entries on his record sheets to agree with the enclosed statement. Please note that until such time as the recorder actually changes the entry on the record sheet, the status of the claim remains unchanged. If you are of the opinion that these changes by the mining recorder will jeopardize your claims, you may during the next fifteen days apply to the Mining and Lands Commissioner for an extension of time. Abstracts should be sent with your application. If the reduced rate of credits does not jeopardize the status of the claims then you need not seek relief from the. Mining and Lands Commissioner and this Notice of Intent may be disregarded. If your survey was submitted and assessed under the "Special Provision-Performance and Coverage" method and you are of the opinion that a re-appraisal under the "Man-days" method would result in the approval of a greater number of days credit per claim, you may, within the said fifteen day period, submit assessment work breakdowns listing the employees names, addresses and the dates and hours they worked. The new work breakdowns should be submitted direct to the Land Management Branch, Toronto. The report will be re-assessed and a new statement of credits based on actual days worked will be issued S/B)
