2 SCINTILLOMETER SURVEY URANIUM CLAIMS PALMERSTON TWP. - ONTARIO Introduction The Palmerston Uranium claims are situated in the central part of Palmerston Township, Frontenac County, Ontario. A scintillometer survey was carried out on behalf of Taman Resources Limited and Ram Petroleums Limited in order to evaluate extensive radioactive showings on the property. Access to Property The six claim group is accessible by way of Highway 7 to Sharbot Lake, then 8 miles West on Highway 509 to a point where the road crosses the Mississippi River on the east end of Miller's Lake. At this point a 1.8 mile boat ride to the west end of the lake gives access to claim EO From the boat landing a trail leads to the Main base line and radioactive showings. A bush road of two miles would have to be constructed on the south side of Miller's Lake if drilling equipment were to be used on the property. Claims, The property consists of six (6) unsurveyed mining claims. All are "registered in the name of Ram Petroleums Ltd.

3 -2- Ram and Taman Resources Limited each have a 50?o working interest in the property. The addresses of both companies are 401 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario M5H 2Y4. The description of the claims held are as follows: EO SE part Lot 11 Concession VIII,Palmerston Twp. EO NE part Lot 10 Concession VIII, " " EO NW part Lot 10 Concession VIII, " " EO SW part Lot 10 Concession VIII, " " EO NW part Lot 9 Concession VIII, " " EO SE part Lot 10 Concession VIII, " " Lot and concession lines which may once have been in existence have long since disappeared. Previous Work Previous work on the property consisted of a limited amount of trenching and a geiger counter traverse made by Douglas Riddell during in Ram Petroleums acquired the property P r e s en t W ork Line cutting for the scintillometer survey was undertaken by Douglas Riddell, Clarendon, Ontario. A total of 11^ miles of base lines and picket lines were completed between January 19th and February 14th, The main base control peg is situated at Post #2 of claim EO It consists of a squared peg painted red. The main base line has an East-West direction. Picket lines were chained off at 200'

4 -3- intervals except at the westerly end where 400' spacing was used. Picket stations were spaced at 100' intervals. Field work in connection with the survey was carried out by the writer between May 8 and 15, Geology The property is located in the Grenville province of the Canadian Shield and therefore of Precambrian age. Nearly all the property consists of granitic and pegmatitic type rocks. From field observations it appears that some of the pegmatites are of secondary origin showing interbedding with remnants of highly metamorphosed clastic sediments as can be seen, on the early boundary of claim EO However, there is abundant evidence of intrusive granites and their pegmatitic derivatives. Due to the very complex nature of the area no structural interpretation can be attempted until a detailed geological survey is carried out. All the radioactive showings are in a coarse reddish pegmatitite with abundant biotite mica. In areas of greatest radioactivity hornblende and magnetite occur in noticeable concentrations. There is also much uranophane staining present. The examination of the pits opened at grid 600 E:6*00 S indicates that the occurrence of uranophane increases considerably 3-4" below the surface. Method of Survey The survey was carried out with a scintillometer, Model 111B, serial number 411-HB-8561; made by Radiation Instruments

5 -4- Inc., Los Angeles, California. Care was taken to calibrate the instrument before entering the field and a further check was made upon entering the claims and before commencing the survey. Regular calibration checks were made during the survey to ensure accuracy. All readings * were taken with the instrument at waist height and with the time constant control in the medium position. a reading was taken and the data recorded. > At each station In areas of higher activity readings were taken at 50' intervals instead of the regular 100 f spacings to ensure accuracy. A total number of 363 stations were established in the survey. During the survey it became evident that a background count of.015 KR/HR was common throughout the property. ( A milliroentgen (MR) is the common unit of radiation. This term is usually expressed with a unit of time and expresses the number of units of radiation intensity in a given field, i.e. MR/HR-). As a result in plotting the data the lowest isorads were drawn at.02 MR/HR. drawn at.04,.06,.08,.10 MR/HR. Subsequent isorads were Observations From the accompanying map it is evident that three larger radioactive anomalies have been outlined on the property. To the north of base line a series of four smaller anomalies in close proximity to each other may in fact be one contiguousstructure as there is quite a bit of overburden in places in this area, and the covering of overburden is known to have a considerable blanketing effect on radioactivity.

6 -5- Nearly all the stronger anomalies have a NW-SC orientation which may bear some relationship to the general structural influences in the area. However this can only be substantiated by detailed geological mapping. Recommend ati on s From the radiometric survey, results of significant interest have been obtained warranting a continued program of trenching and drilling. Trenches should be opened up at 300 3:2+00 E, 400:N 0+00 and at 450:S 8+00 E in order to obtain some indication of the width and character of the mineralization. This should then be followed by a series of drill holes, preferably with a percussion drill to obtain results below the zone of weathering and possible enrichment. Due to the very hard nature of the pegmatitic rocks shallow drilling would be almost as cheap as trenching. The data obtained would also be of considerably more technical interest than trenching results, due to the difficulties of trenching to any depth. fr Respectfully submitted, Thomas E. Gillett, B.Se. April 28, 1978 An examination of your survey report indicates that the requirements of The Ontario Mining Act have not been fully met to warrant maximum assessment work credits. This notice is merely a warning that you will not be allowed the number of assessment work days credits that you expected and also that in approximately 15 days from the-above date, the mining recorder will be authorized to change the entries on his record sheets to agree with the enclosed statement. Please note that until such time as the recorder actually changes the entry on the record sheet, the status of the claim remains unchanged. If you are of the opinion that these changes by the mining recorder will jeopardize your claims, you may during the next fifteen days apply to the Mining and Lands Commissioner for an extension of time. Abstracts should be sent with your application. If the reduced rate of credits does not jeopardize the status of the claims then you need not seek relief from the Mining and Lands Commissioner and this Notice of intent may be disregarded. If your survey was submitted and assessed under the "Special Provision-Performance and Coverage" method and you are of the opinion that a re-appraisal under the "Man-days" method would result in the approval of a greater number of days credit per claim, you may, within the said fifteen day period, submit assessment work breakdowns listing the-employees names, addresses and the dates and hours they worked. The new work breakdowns should be submitted direct to the Lands Administration Branch, Toronto.
