Lawson and J. Maxwell worked on the property for short periods of time. Mileage Read Lines were spaced ^00' apart and stations located at 100* intervals. Readings were taken where necessary at 50* intervals, A total of 67.3 miles of grid lines and 3*708 stations were read, The main base station was established at O * 00 on XL-112 B on B. L, No. 1.

2 - 2 - The survey was carried out with an ABBM MZ-V Torsion Magnetometer with a sensitivity of 9*5 gammas per scale division. Results of the Survey The results of the surveys are plotted on the accompany ing mapsi Guibord #2 and Guibord #1. The areas to be filed for assessment are outlined. There are four main rock types with corresponding magnetic divisions. The sediments designated as F on the map are generally in the range of 300 to 500 gammas. There Is a band of sediments coming in strong (over a mile wide) from the west and pinching out in the east. These are the only sediments present in the area* The acidic Intrusive which is mainly a coarse grained syenite Is designated "N" and occurs on the eastern extremity of the Guibord #2 map. The magnetics are generally in the 1000 to 1500 range with some anomalous higher areas. These could be caused by three things* (1) Relatively higher concentrations of magnetite in the syenite (2) Diabase dykes within the syenite (3) Inclusion of greenstone within the syenite. The volcanic areas are mainly andesite. Across the northern extremity of the north map sheet and also across the southern part of the same sheet are bands of volcanics, indicated by the letter A. These magnetics are very variable. The areas with extreme magnetics, that is, over two thousand gammas, are due to peridotite intrusives. The very low magnetics are probably due to acid intrusions within the volcanics.

3 - 3 - The ultra-raafics occur In the northern parts as silllike bodies of peridotite and serpentinlced peridotite. These have magnetic intensities of up to 3500 gammas* In the south-east part of the Guibord #2 sheet and the north part of the Guibord #1 sheet there appears to be multiple Intrusions of ultra mafic rooks. This whole area could be a peridotite. The magnetic intensity in this area in one location is in excess of 5000 gammas* Conclusion Due to the sparceness of outcrop in the predominantly muskeg area, little of the bedrock geology was known with any degree of certainty. The magnetics in conjunction with the known bedrock geology gives a fairly clear picture of the area. Drilling has substantiated the interpretation of the magnetics as to rock types. 5 - 2 - Type of Ins"t;rmnf,rft Used Two types of Instruments were used on this survey. (1) The Ronka Mark III Blectroaagnetometer. This instrument consists of two colls, designated transmitter and receiver coils, connected by a compensating cable of, in this case, 300* length. A transmitter capable of transmitting an alternating signal of 876 c.p.s. (low frequency) or 2^00 o.p.s. (high frequency) is connected to the transmitter coil. A receiver console, with In- Phase and Out-of-Phase dials, is connected to the receiving coil* During field operation, one man carries the transmitter and transmitter coll, and the other man carries the receiver console and receiver coil. They proceed along a traverse line separated by the length of the compensating cable. At each station, when the transmitter is turned on, a primary electromagnetic field is created, which induces a voltage in the receiving coll. This voltage is compensated by a voltage transmitted directly to the receiver through the compensating cable. If a conducting body such as a sulphide mass is present between or near the coils, a voltage and hence a current will be induced In this conductor, and a secondary electromagnetic field will be created. This secondary field will also induce a voltage in the receiving coil and destroy the balance in the receiver console. In order to restore the balance, it will be necessary to adjust the In-Phase and Out-of-Phase controls. The voltage induced in the receiving coil due to the secondary field may be in-phase or out-of-phase with the primary field.

6 " 3 " The value read on the oontrolg of the receiver console are a measure of the in-phase and out-of-phase components of this secondary field. Most naturally occurring conductive bodies vrill produce both negative in-phase and out-of-phase relative variations in the readings. A relatively large In-phase reading compared to the corresponding out-of-phase reading is indicative of good conductivity. The instrument is zeroed prior to a survey vlth the coils in the same horizontal plane* During the course of a survey, when passing over rough terrain, if the coils are tilted an appreciable amount vith respect to each other, the component of the primary field received by the receiving coil will be altered. This will produce a negative In-phase anomaly. The out-of-phase readings should not be affected. Rough terrain may also cause a shortening of the distance between the coils, which will produce an apparent positive in-phase anomaly. Over magnetite-rich zones, it has been observed that a large positive In-phase and corresponding negative out-of-phase anomaly may be indicated. (2) Dual frequency J.E.M. eleotromagnetometer. The angle of Inclination or dip of the resultant electromagnetic field la measured at each station in the survey* In normal operation two men have similar S.M. units, both able to transmit and receive. The two men stand 200 feet apart on the same grid line, or "in line" when operating. The man taking notes Is designated "chief n and the other man the "helper. The

7 . u - t "chief" first transmits with an inclined coil and the "helper" receives the signal and measures the dip angle using a horizontal coll. The procedure is then reversed and the chief records the resultant dip angle. Dip angles are measured as positive by one unit and negative by the other, or the reverse situation. If no conductor is present the sum of the two readings is olose to zero (t V3 ). If a conductor is indicated by a resultant dip angle greater than (- M*) low frequency readings should also be recorded, The resultant dip angles (high frequency) obtained in the survey are plotted at the midpoint of the separation ("chief" te "helper") and they are then profiled. Inspection of the maps will show the locations of anomalous electrical conductivity. Results of thq jarvey The results are plotted on the two accompanying maps with the areas being filed for assessment work at this time outlined by heavy lines. The remainder of the data has been filed previously. On XL-2*f E and 28 E at **8 -t- 00 NE and 52 * 00 NE respect ively (the extreme north end of the property) a fairly strong conductor is present. This conductor occurs in an intermediate volcanic zone with some ultra-mafic intrusions. This anomaly is probably caused by a tabular sulphide mass. On XL-60 E and 61* B at 20 * 00 NE and 22 i- 00 NE of No* l B.L. (on north map) a weak conductor is present. The in-phase component doesn't react. This could be a deeply burled conductor. What the bedrock is in this location is very much in doubt. On XL-128 E and 132 E in the north-east part of the north map are two little blips. The first showing up on the in-phase

8 t component and the latter showing up on the out-of-phase component. These may not be anything as they are very weak. Conclusions The area contains very few conductors. The only conductor of any consequence is the conductor in the extreae north on Claim #L March 2*t, John T. Shaw.
