2 INTRDUCTIN * PURPSE F SURVEY A systematic Max-Min II EM and magnetic survey were carried out over staked claims held by Abitibi-Price Inc. for the purpose of exploring for base metal massive sulphides. The area covered by this report is Concession IV, Lots 6 and 7, N^ Lot 9 and Concession V, 8*5 Lots 8 and 9. LCATIN AND ACCESS The area covered by this report is located in central Lucas Township, 20 miles north of Timmins. It is accessible by winter road across Crawford and Lucas Townships from Highway 655. PRPERTY The twenty-eight unpatented claims covered by the survey are held by Abitibi- Price Inc. 3 PREVIUS WRK,k During 1963, INC tested several conductors in Concession IV and V by diamond drilling. In Concession IV, Lot 9, Nfe, two holes were drilled. Quartz biotite chlorite schist with graphite and trace pyrite was inter sected in one hole and andesite with graphitic bands was intersected in the other hole. INC 1 s drilling in Concession V, Lot 9, 8*5 revealed graphitic schists and carbonaceous intermediate units. Shell Canada (Toronto file and ) reported a magnetometer and horizontal loop EM survey in Concession V, Lot 8, 8*5 in The t maximum magnetic relief was 1660 gammas. A few narrow magnetic anomalies with north west strike direction were located. No follow-up work was reported. In 1978 Canadian ccidental Petroleum performed a Turam EM and magnetometer survey (Toronto file ). A wide, strong conductive zone was located in the central portion of Concession IV, Lots 6 and 7. No follow-up was reported. SURVEY PRCEDURE AND INSTRUMENTATIN The EM survey was carried out using a Max-Min II unit manufactured by Apex Parametrics of Toronto. A 400 foot cable (coil separation) was used for the horizontal loop moving coil configuration. Three frequencies were observed i.e Hz, 888 Hz, 444 Hz. Lines at 400 foot spacing were cut In January 1981 and were read with stations at 100 foot intervals. Profiles of the inphase and out-of-phase data are plotted at l" , on maps at the back of this report. The EM and magnetic surveys were carried out during February and March The magnetic survey was done using a Fluxgate MF-2 total field magnetometer by Scintrex. A contoured map, at 100 gamma intervals is included at the back

4 of this report. Base lines and tie lines were read by looping back to the base station. The main base station for the grid was located at W and base line (480 gammas). Readings were obtained at 50 foot intervals. Both Max-Min II EM survey and the magnetic survey were performed by R. Craig, Noranda, P. Q., during February and early March, STATISTICS Approximately 35 miles of grid line was cut on the 28 claims covered by these surveys. Max-Min II EM readings were observed at 1543 stations and magnetometer readings were observed at 3316 stations. INTERPRETATIN MAX-MIN II EM There are seven possible conductive zones present on this claim group. Conductor "A" occurs on line 48 -f 00 W, S, and extends west to the edge of the claim group on line W. Conductor "B" occurs on line W, N and extends west to line W, N, where it begins to fade out. Both Conductor "A" and "B" lack an associated magnetic expression. They are wide ( foot), shallow conductors probably due to the presence of graphite or pyrite bearing sulphides. Conductor "C" located in claim # trends northwest and has a weak anomalous magnetic zone on its southern flank. Conductors "D", "E" and "F" occur in the western portion of the claim group. All three conductors trend east west and have an associated magnetic response. Conductor "D" occurs on line W, S and opens to

5 the west. Conductor "E" occurs on line 124 -f 00 W, 13 H- 00 S and continues to western grid boundary and Conductor "F" occurs on line 132 * 00 W, S and trends north west. These zones may be due to pyrrhotite bearing sulphide in mafic volcanics. Conductor "G" which occurs on line 132 -f 00 W,.6 * 00 N, is a wide shallow conductive zone consisting of two subparallel zones with a conductive width of feet. The zone may have already been drilled. Graphitic schists and carbonaceous intermediate units have been reported in this area. MAGNETICS Maximum magnetic relief on this property is approximately 3300 gammas. Generally, there is low relief with a few narrow gamma anomalies on the western portion of the grid. An anomalous magnetic high trending north west cuts across claim # (maximum 1000 gammas). This occurs on the southern flank of an EM conductive zone and is probably due to pyrrhotite bearing sulphides in a mafic volcanic. An east west trending anomalous zone occurs on claim # and there are several anomalous magnetic peaks on claim # Both these zones can be correlated with EM conductors and may be due to pyrrhotite bearing sulphides. ' ' The remainder of this claim group has only weak magnetic trends. CNCLUS INS 6r. RECMMENDATINS Further detailed geophysics, possibly I.P. should be carried out on these conductors. If these conductors appear real, then follow-up drilling should be carried out particularly on conductors "A" and "B" as little previous work has been done in this area.
