2 URBAN QUEBEC MINES LIMITED MAGNETOMETER SURVEY STURGEON LAKE AREA PATRICIA MINING DIVISION ONTARIO SUMMARY The following report describen the results of a magnetometer survey conducted over o portion of a group o.c mining claims held by Urban Quebec Mines Limited and located in the southwest part of the Sturgeon Lake area, Ontario. The Sturgeon Lake area, formerly prospecte.l for gold, received renewed interest in the fall of 19f)9, following the reporter] discovery by Mattagami Lake Minos Limited of a large base metal ore-body on Block Number 7 timber limit. The claims group held by Urban Quebec Mines Limited and discussed in this report adjoins Block Number 7 on the west. The magnetometer survey covered the west 24 claims of the group and was carried out during the period March 7th.t to March 23rd, The readings wore uniformly low over most of the surveyed area, but three weak anomalous zones were indicated and are shown on the accompanying plan as the "A", "D" and "C" anomalies. The highest magnetic readings were obtained over the "A" anomaly where they were observed to be as much as twice background. A small amount of E. M. check work was czirried out and two diamond drill holes were put down for a total footage of 869 feet. PROPERTY, LOCATION AND ACCESS The property of Urban Quebec Mines Limited discussed in this report, consists of a group of fifty nine unpatentefl.l mining claims located in the southwest part of the Sturgeon Lake Area/ District of Kenora, Patricia Mining Division, Ontario. 3 (2) The group forms a block approximately four and one half miles long in an east-west direction and varying from two to four claims wide in a north-south direction. The east boundary of the group forms a common boundary with the Block Number 7 timber limit. Tho fifty nine claims included in the group are further described as follows: PA to PA inclusive PA to PA inclusive PA and PA PA to PA inclusive The claims group is readily accer.r.ible, as highway 599 leading from Ignace to Savant Lriko passers one mile to the west of the property. Also, Valora Lnko and Jigger Lake provide ideal landing facilities for float equipped aircraft. TOPOGRAPHY The topography of the claims group is characterized by well timbered rolling sand plain and boulder ridges with some intervening muskeg over the west half and low flat spruce muskeg over the east half. Rock exposures are quite sparse and a fairly large part of the property underlies Valora and Jigger Lakes as well as several small lakes or ponds. GENERAL GEOLOGY The general geology of the area is shown on Map No. 39b, published by the Province of Ontario Department of Mines in 1930 on the scale of one inch to two miles and accompanying Volume XXXIX, Part 2 of the Ontario Department of Mines, A recent map in preliminary form and also published by the Province of Ontario Department of Mines on the scale of one inch to two miles covers a much broader area. 4 (3) These map sheets'suggest a volcanic-intrusive contact to extend in a south of west direction through the west central part of the claims group, sojthat the west part should be under lain by volcanics and associated rocks whereas the east part should be underlain by predominantly granitic intrusive??. T'he r..m. work showed a conductor immediately north of the "B" anomaly DIAMOND DRILLING A total of 869 feet of diamond drilling was completed s in two holes, the first ; U-l was drilled to cross-section the \ J. D.

5 IP* s-'c -' W "A" anomaly and the second, V-?., to cross-section the P.M. conductor in the area of the "B" anomaly. This drilling definitely established the presence of volcanic formations in this part of the claims group but no significant sulphide mineralization was encountered in either drill hole. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The exploration work carried out on the property of Urban Quebec Mines Limited discussed in this report, has been confined to the most westerly twenty fovir claims of the fifty nine claim group. This work has definitely established the presense of favourable volcanic formations on the ground with definite indications of a volcnnic-intrusiva contact zone extending for a possible eight to ton thousand feet across the property. Although no significant sulphide mineralization has been encountered in tho limitod work carried out to-dato, this contact zone can be considered to hn geologically very favourable as a possible host condition for sulphide deposition and only a small part of the zon^ has boen thoroughly investigated to-date, It is recommended that your Company retain this claims group in good standing for tho present at loast, pending further exploration results in the general area.
