2 BLCK 5 INTRDUCTIN During the 1975 summer fied season an expor ation programme incuding eectromagnetic and magnetic surveys was conducted on caims KRL ne definite conductive trend was outined. LCATIN, DESCRIPTIN AND ACCESS T PRPERTY This caim bock ies in the S.E. quadrant of caim sheet M-2146 (Faukenham Lake) between the Bug River and Stone Lake in the Red Lake Mining Division District of Kenora, Patricia Portion. Access is by a series of pup roads starting at the intersection of the Bug River and highway 105. Ater nate access is by highway 105 to the east end of Stone Lake by boat to a point on the north shore of the ake approx imatey one haf mie from the west end, then by bush track approximatey one haf mie N.W. to the south east corner of the bock.

PRESENTATIN F RESULTS The resuts of the horizonta oop E. M. and magnetometer surveys are presented on separate '^200' pans. GENERAL GELGY A ground check reveaed the northern portion of the bock to underain by dacite tuffs and the south ern portion by basic vocanics. These are part of the western end of the Uchi Lake greenstone bet that event uay disappear into the gneisses of the Sydney Lake bet. Metamorphism reaches the upper greenschist facies on this bock. Mineraization seen in outcrop is imited to minor disseminated pyrite. GEPHYSICAL SURVEY DETAILS A geonics E. M. 17 horizonta oop unit was used with a 400 ft coi separation using a frequency of 1600 cps, Data was recorded as the in-phase and out-of-phase percent age of the primary fied and potted as a graph with a

4 - 3 - scae of A McPhar M700 magnetometer was used with base stations estabished at two points aong the base ine. Readings were corrected to conform, potted at the scae '^200' and contoured. E.M. ' E. M. readings were taken at 100' intervas on ines spaced 400' apart with severa 50' intervas where anomaous conditions were apparent to the operator. Magnetometer readings were taken at simiar intervas on these same ines. DISCUSSIN F RESULTS ne strong in-phase anomay with a very high direct magnetic correation was noted on ined 1200W and 1600W at approximatey 300 'N. This type of anomay is commonpace in magnetite iron formations. RECMMENDATINS Because of the position of the conductive axis on or near the dacite/basat contact, one dri hoe shoud be dried to test for economic suphide mineraization. Access is via Bug River from Highway 105 to a fas on a tributary of the river, hence by bazed trai westward to the eastern boundary of the caim bock. PRPERTY WNERSHIP Limited, Licence #T90. Severa GEPHYSICAL SURVEY DETAILS Horizonta Loop E.M. A Geonics E.M. 17 horizonta oop unit was used with a 400' coi separation and a frequency of 1600 cps. Data was recorded as the in phase and out of phase percentage of the primary fied and potted as a graph with a scae of " s 20%. Magnetometer A McPhar M-700 magnetometer was used with base stations estabished at each intersection of cross ines and the base ine. Readings were corrected to conform, potted at the scae of " ' and contoured.

8 - 3 - E.M. readings were taken at 100' intervas on ines spaced 400' apart. When anomaous conditions arose, station spacing was dropped to 50'. Magnetic readings were taken at simiar intervas with anomaous conditions receiving the same treatment. DISCUSSIN F RESULTS in the E.M. survey. No distinct conductive horizons were noted A weak response was noted in the SE corner of the grid but is coincident with a fowing stream. The magnetic survey was equay fat. ; anomaous conditions were noted. No RECMMENDATINS An E.M. horizonta oop survey with a 600' coi separation coud be done before eiminating these caims. LCATIN, DESCRIPTIN S, ACCESS T PRPERTY This caim bock is ocated in the S.E. quadrant of caim sheet M-2146 (Faukenham Lake), District of Kenora, Patricia Portion. Access to the bock is by way of a trai cut from Stone Lake or via a series of od ogging roads which originates at the intersection of highway 105 and the Bug River. PRPERTY WNERSHIP The six caims are hed by Seco Mining Corporation Limited, License IT190.

GENERAL GELGY The bock ies within intermediate and basic vocanics striking generay east-west. They are the western end of the Uchi Lake greenstone bet and are intruded by quartz monzonite in the northern part of the bock. vera metamorphic grade appears to upper greenschist. No suphide mineraization was noted in a fied check. f PREVIUS WRK was not observed. Evidence of previous minera exporation work GEPHYSICAL SURVEY DETAILS A Geonics E. Readings were corrected to conform, potted at the scae of '^200 and contoured. E.M. E. M. readings were taken at 100' intervas on ines spaced 400' apart. A few readings were taken at 50' intervas where anomaous vaues were recorded. Magnetometer readings were taken at 100" intervas on the same ines except where anomaous magnetic vaues were noted. Then the station interva was dropped to 50'. DISCUSSIN F RESULTS A weak out-of -phase conductor was noted from ine, 3+50N to ine 20W, 2+50N. There is no direct magnetic correation and hence this conductive body is thought to be a wet shear zone. A weak in-phase anomay was noted from ine 4W, 1+50S to ine 8W, 1+S. The gamma magnetic high reated to this zone gives the impression that a thin magnetite iron formation is its cause.

14 - 4 - RECMMENDATINS It is recommended that no further work be done on this grid except as a ow priority.
