2 REPORT ON THE COMBINED AIRBORNE MAGNETIC AND VF-EECTROMAGNETIC SURVEY ON THE PROPERTY OF FRED KIERNICKI EIOTT TOWNSHIP ARDER AKE MINING DIVISION, ONTARIO. INTRODUCTION On January 6, 1990, a combined magnetic and VFeectromagnetic survey was carried out on the property of Fred Kiernicki in Eiott Township, arder ake Mining Division, Ontario. Magnetic and VF-eectromagnetic data was coected by the airborne division of H. Ferderber Geophysics td. The survey was fown from a base at Va d'or, Quebec. A tota of mies of data was coected. The magnetic survey provides data which outines the underying geoogica structures and identifies any potentia economic concentrations which may contain variations in accessory magnetic mineras. The VF-eectromagnetic survey heps define conductive zones which may represent shear zones and/or metaic suphide deposits containing god and/or base meta mineraization.

3 H, FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS TD -2- PROPERTY DESCRIPTION, OCATION AND ACCESS The Fred Kiernicki property is comprised of 20 caims, covering approximatey 330 hectares, in the southeast corner of Eiott Township, arder ake Mining Division, Ontario. The caims are registered with the Office of the Kirkand ake, and are isted in Appendix 1. Mining Recorder in The property is situated 18 mies northeast of Kirkand ake and 34 mies east-southeast of the town of Matheson. Provincia Highway 101, west from the Quebec border to Matheson, ies 9.6 mies north of the caim group and the Harker-Hooway road is situated approximatey 2.5 mies to the west. The caim bock is forest covered and Webster Creek fows across the property. Topographica reief is generay ow with a sma hi ocated across the southern boundary. Suppies, services and quaified manpower are avaiabe in the Matheson-Kirkand ake area. GEOOGY The caim bock is ocated in the centra portion of the Abitibi Vocanic Bet of the Superior Province of the Canadian Shied. The abitibi Vocanic Bet extends for neary 350 mies in a west-east direction from Timmins to Chibougamau. It is host

4 -3 of a variety of precious and base meta deposits incuding the Timmins, Kirkand camps. ake, Noranda, Va d'or and Chibougamau mining The Abitibi Vocanic Bet is composed of a compex assembage of interbedded vocanic and sedimentary rocks intruded by a variety of intrusives, from utrabasic to granitic in composition. The rocks are Archean in age and have been metamorphosed to the greenschist facies. Numerous ate Precambrian diabase dykes cut formations of the bet. The rocks generay strike east-west, have a vertica dip and are highy foded and fauted. Geoogica interpretation of the Abitibi Vocanic Bet is compicated by both the wide scattering of outcrops and the compex structura reationships. The Ontario Department of Mines, Map 2205, Timmins-Kirkand ake Geoogica Compiation Series; the Quebec Ministry of Energy and Resources Geoogica Compiation Map 32D; and Services Exporation Mining Properties Map of the Matheson Area describe the geoogy underying the property. These maps indicate that the caims are underain by intermediate metavocanic fows and intermediate pyrocastic rocks. Map 32D shows that two southeast trending fauts are situated in the western-most caims. West- southwest, northeast and northwest trending fauts end near the northwest, southwest and southeast corners of the property, respectivey. A

5 -4- respectivey. A suphide occurrence ies in Tannahi Township near the southern contact with a sma fesic intrusive body, 0.6 mies to the east. The Harker-Hooway Area (which incudes Eiott Township) has recenty undergone an intense program of exporation since the discovery of the American Barrick Resources Hot-McDermott God Mine in Hooway Township, 10 mies north of the Kiernicki property. Production began in 1988 and the mine contains reserves of over 4,000,000 tons containing 610,000 ounces of god mies east-northeast of the mine, the Canamax Resources East Zone deposit produced 5,391 ounces of god in A drift has been driven westward from the mine to the Greater eorna Resources Corp. - American Barrick 1 s Worvest deposit. The Worvest property has tota reserves of 1,500,000 tons of oz. Au/ton. In Garrison Township, approximatey 13 mies northwest of the property, the Garrison Township project of Jonpo Exporations td. and T S H Resources td. has recenty sunk a shaft to 500 feet. This project is thought to contain combined dri indicated reserves of 1,314,280 tons of 0.23 oz/ton Au. The Greater eorna Resources' Goden Harker deposit is situated 3.5 mies south-southwest of the Hot-McDermott Mine and

6 -5-8 mies north-northwest of the Kiernicki property. It contains totaj reserves of 500,000 tons of 0.16 oz/ton god. Aso in the Harker-Hooway area, the Iris property of Perrex Resources Inc. and Aberta God Exporation, ying mie south of the Goden Harker Deposit, is thought to have reserves of 1,184,756 tons averaging 0.06 oz/ton Au. Various other properties in the area, incuding the Noranda-Freewest Resources and Teddy Bear Vaey Mines, where good god vaues have been intersected in recent diamond driing, have undergone intensive exporation programs during the ast few years. In the Harker-Hooway-Eiott-Thackeray area god mineraization appears to ie within atered and deformed interbedded metavocanic and metasedimentary horizons. INSTRUMENTATION AND SURVEY METHODS The survey was competed using a 1972 Cessna 172, fixed-wing aircraft, ca etters CF-EWK, owned and operated by H. Ferderber Geophysics td. The piot and navigator/operator were. Gauthier and D. Monastesse, respectivey, of Rouyn-Noranda and Vassan. Geophysica sensors were mounted in modified wing tips. The geophysica, navigation and data acquisition systems are described in the foowing pag.es.

7 -6- Magnetometer The magnetometer used was GEM systems GSM-11, high sensitivity airborne proton (Overhauser) magnetometer. The instrument continuousy measures the Earth's magnetic fied at a 0.01 gamma sensitivity for reading per second or 0.05 gamma to 10 readings per second at a 0.1 gamma absoute accuracy. For this survey four readings per second were coected. The anaog output is on 3 channes, from to 10,000 gammas fu scae. VF-EM System A Herz Totem 2A VF-EM System was used to measure the changes in the tota fied and in the vertica quadrature fied on two frequencies simutaneousy, with an accuracy of J.%. The primary transmitting station of Seatte, Washington (NK) frequency 24.8 khz was empoyed in the survey. Radar Atimeter The ground cearance was measured with a King 10/10 A radar atimeter. The survey was fown at a mean cearance of 300 feet with the atimeter producing an accuracy of 5% (15 feet) at this atitude.

8 "7 Tracking Camera and VideoJ^entre A RCA TC-200 coour video camera and Gaaxy 200 video centre was used to record the fight path on standard VHS type video tapes. Manua fiducias were indicated on the picture frames for reference with digita printout. Fight path recovery was aided using a Panasonic Coour Video Monitor and Video Cassette Recorder AG Data Acquisition System A Picodas Group Inc., PDAS 1100 data acquisition system featuring seven anaog inputs with two frequency inputs and externa interfacing was used. A Termifex Corp. ST/32 Keyboard contro unit and Sharp Corp. CD dispay unit are connected to the data acquisition system. At present this system stores the atimeter VF-1 inphase, VF-1 quadrature, VF-2 inphase, VF-2 quadrature, magnetic fied (coarse), magnetic fied (fine), and the fourth difference (noise), and fiducias on 3.5 inch foppy disk drive. The data is then printed out in digita and profie form. The survey was conducted on ines oriented at approximatey 315 and 135 degrees, and fown at an average aircraft atitude of 300 feet. The ines were fown at spacings of 440 feet at a

Navigation was visua using topographic maps (at a scae of one inch to 1320 feet) manua fiducias, and the fight path recovery system as references. DATA PRESENTATION Fight ines, fiducia points and geophysica responses were reproduced from the topographic maps at a scae of one inch to 1320 feet (1:15,840). The outine of the caim bock and caim map are shown on each map sheet. The aeromagnetic data was corrected for diurna variations by using a base ine as reference. The data was then reduced to a base eve of 58,000 gammas, contoured at 10 gamma intervas and presented on Map MG-1. The VF-EM data was transferred from the Totem 2AG memory to profied form. A base vaue was determined for the VF-EM profied data. These vaues were used to correct for variations in transmitter strength and the corrected vaues were potted on Map EM-1. The positive vaues were contoured at intervas of 2%. The conductor axes were determined and abeed A, B, C, etc. No priority was attached to the abeing system.

10 -9- SURVEY RESUTS AND INTERPRETATION Magnetic Survey The data coected by the magnetic survey produced a set of parae north-northeast trending contours. Magnetic reief is ow, ess than 50 gammas, increasing northwestward. These resuts indicate that most of the property is underain by uniform rocks of reativey ow susceptibiity, either intermediate metavocanic fows or intermediate pyrocastics. A broad inear ow is situated in the western part of the property may refect ower susceptibiities of a possibe unit of intermediate pyrocastic rocks containing esser amounts of magnetite than the surrounding rocks. Weak discontinuous highs trend northeast across the southeastern caims coud define the position of zones intermediate metavocanic rocks containing sighty greater amounts of magnetite. The ow aong the eastern boundary, from ines to 5, appears to represent the western end of a sma fesic intrusive body situated in the southeastern end of Tannahi Township. Distortions and sight fods in the magnetic contour pattern indicate that a faut zone strikes southeast across the property, from the northwest to southeast corners of the caim group.

11 -10- VF-Eectromagnetic Survey The resuts of the VF-eectromagnetic survey deineated two conductive zones on the Kiernicki property. Zone A is a 0.3 mie ong conductor striking south-southwest from an intersection of a bend in Webster Creek and the faut zone outined by the resuts of the magnetic survey. The conductor defines the ocation of a possibe faut/shear zone in intermediate metavocanics, causing the bend in a inear topographic trend the Webster Creek. Zone A ies aong strike, just north of a faut outined on Map 32D. It appears that conductor A is younger than the southeast trending faut zone deineated by the magnetic survey. Zone B is a short, one-ine conductor which strikes southsouthwest aong a 350 gamma contour ine. It may represent a short shear situated within intermediate metavocanic rocks. CONCUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The resuts of the combined airborne magnetic and VFeectromagnetic survey indicate that the rocks underying the Kiernicki property are fairy homogeneous intermediate metavocanic and pyrocastic rocks containing a southeast striking faut zone and two south-southwest trending conductive

A broad unit of rocks of sighty ower susceptibiity, probaby atered pyrocastic rocks and discontinuous zones of higher susceptibiity (intermediate roetavocanics with more magnetite) ie in the western part and across the southeastern boundaries, respectivey. Conductive Zone A strikes south-southwest from a ocation at the intersection at Webster Creek and the southeast striking faut. It represents an extension of the north-northeast trend faut zone shown on Map 32D. The best target for god mineraization on the property is in the area of the intersection of these two faut zones. This area shoud be better defined by competing ground magnetic and horizonta oop-eectromagnetic surveys. If the resuts of these surveys prove successfu, the anomaies coud be tested by diamond driing.
