FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD REPORT ON THE AIRBORNE MAGNETIC AND VLF-ELECTROMAGNETIC SURVEYS ON THE PROPERTY OF MCKINNON PROSPECTING DERRY AND ERMINE TOWNSHIPS SAULT STE-MARIE MINING DIVISION, ONTARIO Between May 30th and June, 1990, airborne geophysica surveys were competed on the property McKinnon Prospecting in the Townships of Derry and Ermine, Saut Ste-Marie Mining Division, Ontario. Magnetic and VLF-eectromagnetic data was coected by the airborne division of H. Ferderber Geophysics Ltd. The survey was fown from a base at Hearst, Ontario. A tota of mies of data was coected. The magnetic survey provides data which outines the underying geoogica structures and identifies any potentia economic concentrations which may contain variations in accessory magnetic mineras. The VLF-eectromagnetic survey heps define conductive zones which may represent shear zones and/or metaic suphide deposits containing god and/or base meta mineraization. PROPERTY DESCRIPTION, LOCATION AND ACCESS The McKinnon Prospecting property is comprised of 201 caims covering approximatey 3216 hectares in the Townships of Derry and Ermine, Saut Ste-Marie Mining Division, Ontario. One hundred and ninety-one caims are situated in the southern haf of Derry Township and the 10 remaining contiguous caims ie in the northwest corner of Ermine Township. The caims are registered with the office of the Mining Recorder in Saut Ste-Marie, are isted in Appendix, and are outined on each map sheet.

3 -2- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD The property is ocated 46 mies northeast of White River, 24 mies southeast of the town of Hornepayne and 6.6 mies southwest of the viage of Oba. The caims can be accessed either through Oba or Hornepayne. Oba is reached by traveing on the Highway 583 south from Hearst for 25 mies then taking a grave road for 45 mies. A bush road west then south from Oba passes through the northeastern most caims. Hornepayne is ocated 64 mies north of White River aong Highway 631. A grave road east then south from Hornepayne, bisects the caim group between Kabinakagami and Pine Portage Lakes. Over haf of the property is forested with the remainder being water covered by Kabinakagami, Pine Portage and Expansion Lakes. The area surrounding the eastern most caims has recenty been ogged. The Oba River fows through the eastern part of the property and an esker trends south between Pine Portage Bay of Kabinakagami Lake and Pine Portage Lake. Suppies, services and manpower are avaiabe in the Hearst, Hornepayne and White River areas. GEOLOGY The Ontario Department of Mines, Geoogica Compiation sheet 2220, Manitouwadge-Wawa Area describes the geoogy in the area of the property. Because of the scarcity of previous exporation in the area and because quite a bit of the caims are water covered contacts, especiay in the western parts of the property, are not precisey defined. Map 2220 indicates that two bands of mafic metavocanics strike west-southwest to east-southwest through the northeastern and southwestern caims. These mafic metavocanics are surrounded by metamorphic and fesic intrusive rocks.

4 -3- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD Two diabase dykes trend northwest across the caim group and one strikes northeast through the southwestern corner of the property. A third northwest trending dyke intrudes the metavocanics and metamorphic and fesic intrusive rocks north of Pine Portage Lake. A north-northwest striking faut zone cuts the metamorphic and fesic intrusive rocks on Big Point in Kabinakagami Lake. The property ies aong strike between god occurrences in Hawkins Township to the east, and in Lizar Township, to the southwest. The Shenango Prospect is ocated in the northern metavocanic band, 6 mies east of the property in Hawkins Township. The god ies in quartz veins within mafic metavocanics In Lizar Township numerous god occurrences, incuding the Hiawatha Mine, ie in metavocanics near contacts with the metamorphic and fesic intrusive rocks, 6 to 10 mies southwest of the property. A Cu-Pb occurrence is situated near the southern boundary on Agamik Isand in Kabinakagami Lake and moybdenum has been found in metavocanics, 0.8 mies east of the southwest corner of the property. INSTRUMENTATION AND SURVEY METHODS The survey was competed using a 1972 Cessna 172, fixed wing aircraft, ca etters CF-EWK, owned and operated by H. Ferderber Geophysics Ltd. The piot and navigator/operator were M. Turcotte and D. Monastesse respectivey, of Va d'or and Vassan. Geophysica sensors were mounted in modified wing tips. The geophysica, navigation and data acquisition systems are in the foowing pages.

5 Magnetorneter -4- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD The magnetometer used was a GEM Systems GSM-11, high sensitivity airborne proton (Overhauser) magnetometer. The instrument continuousy measures the Earth's magnetic fied at a 0.01 gamma sensitivity for reading per second to 10 readings per second at a 0.1 gamma absoute accuracy. For this survey four readings per second were coected. The anaog output is on 3 channes, from to 10,000 gammas fu scae. VLF-EM System A Herz Totem 2A VLF-EM System was used to measure the changes in the tota fied and in the vertica quadrature fied on two frequencies simutaneousy, with an accuracy of 1^, The primary transmitting station of Cuter, Maine (NAA), frequency 24.0 khz was empoyed in the survey. Radar Atimeter The ground cearance was measured with a King 10/10 A radar atimeter. The survey was fown at a mean cearance of 300 feet with the atimeter producing an accuracy of 5% (15 feet) at this atitude. Tracking Camera and Video Centre A RCA TC-200 coour video camera and Gaaxy 200 video centre was used to record the fight path on standard VHS type video tapes. Manua fiducias were indicated on the picture frames for reference with digita printout. Fight path recovery was aided using a Panasonic Coour Video Monitor and Video Cassette Recorder AG-2500.

6 Data Acquisition System -5- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD A Picodas Group Inc. PDAS 1100 data acquisition system featuring seven anaog inputs with two frequency inputs and externa interfacing was used. A Termifex Corp. ST/32 Keyboard contro unit and Sharp Corp. LCD dispay unit are connected to the data acquisition system. At present this system stores the atimeter VLF-1 in-phase, VLF-1 quadrature, VLF-2 in-phase, VLF-2 quadrature, magnetic fied (coarse), magnetic fied (fine), and the fourth difference (noise), and fiducias on 3.5 inch foppy disk drive. The data is then printed out in digita and profie form. The survey was conducted on ines oriented at roughy 155 and 335 degrees, fown at an average aircraft atitude of 300 feet and a speed of approximatey 90 mies per hour. Geophysica responses were coected at data points spaced at 33 foot intervas aong the ines. The ines were spaced at 440 feet intervas. Navigation was visua using airphoto mosaics, at a scae of one inch to 1320 feet, manua fiducias, and the fight path recovery system as references. DATA PRESENTATION Fight ines, fiducia points and geophysica responses were reproduced from the airphoto mosaics at a scae of one inch to 1320 feet (1:15,840). The computer processing was performed utiizing the Geosoft Inc. 2-D Mapping System on an IBM compatibe AT computer. Potting was done on a Houston Instruments DMPL-62 potter driven by both the Geosoft and the AutoCad software. The outine of the caim bock and caim map are shown on each map sheet.

7 -6- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD The aeromagnetic data was corrected for diurna variations by using base ines as references. The data was then contoured at 20 gamma intervas and presented on Map MG-1. The VLF-EM was transferred from the Totem 2AG memory to profied form. A base vaue was determined for the VLF-EM profied data. These vaues were used to correct for variations in transmitter strength and the corrected vaues were potted on Map EM-1. The positive vaues were contoured at intervas of 2^,. The conductor axes were determined and abeed A, B, C, etc. No priority was attached to the abeing system. A geoogica interpretation of the magnetic data pus conductor axes are shown on Map GI-1. SURVEY RESULTS AND INTERPRETATION Magnetic Survey The map (MG-1) produced from the resuts of the airborne magnetic survey contains compex patterns of inear highs and ows striking east to southwest across the McKinnon Prospecting property in Derry and Ermine Townships, Ontario. The most predominent and constant magnetic features are narrow sets of highs striking northwest and northeast to east-northeast across the surveyed area. These highs define the positions of 10 northwest and 5 northeast to east-northeast trending diabase dykes on the caim group, see Map GI-1. Except for the highs representing the diabase dykes the magnetic vaues and reief are generay ower in the southwestern 60 percent of the property than in the northeast. The magnetic vaues indicate that much of this southwestern region is underain by fesic igneous and metamorphic rocks. Six magnetic highs and a series of highs surrounded by ows, strike east-southeast across

FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD southwestern 60 percent of the caim groupt These highs are caused by underying units of rocks, exhibiting higher magnetic susceptibiities than the surrounding fesic igneous to metamorphic rocks and are probaby caused by xenoiths and units of mafic to intermediate metavocanic rocks comprised of basat to andesite. In the northeastern 40 percent of the property the magnetic vaues exhibit reief of up to 800 gammas. The highs in this area are probaby caused by units of underying mafic to intermediate metavocanics, whie the inear series of east trending ows are presumed to be caused by the ower magnetite content in fesic to intermediate metavocanic horizons. These fesic to intermediate metavocanics may contain sma units of metasedimentary rocks. The highest magnetic vaues are caused by a unit of amphiboite surrounded by basats-andesites. A contact between the southern most band of mafic to intermediate metavocanics (basatsandesites) and the fesic igneous and metamorphic intrusive rocks strikes east-southeast, east and east-northeast near the north shores of Kabinakagami and Bumoose Lakes. The amphiboite unit and the basatic-andesitic rocks which are in contact with the fesic to intermediate-metavocanics ocated in the centra part of the eastern caims, ie aong strike, 6 to 8 mies, west of the Shenango Au-Ag Prospect. Breaks and distortions in the magnetic contour pattern and sets of narrow ows form various inear patterns crossing the property. These patterns are thought to be caused by areas of fauting. Three sets of faut zones on the caim group have been outined: five fauts (FI to F5 ) striking 300 to 330 degrees; two fauts trend (F6 and F7) ; 270 to 285 degrees; and two southsouthwest to southwest striking faut zones (F8 and F9). The fauts striking 300 to 330 degrees appear to be the youngest in age, offsetting fauts F6, F7, F8 and F9 in the western haf of the property.

9 VLF-Eectromagnetic Survey -8- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD A tota of 20 VLF-eectromagnetic conductive zones are present on the McKinnon Prospecting property. Fourteen conductive zones (A to N) strike roughy east-west and the remaining 6 zones (O to T) trend south-southeast. Descriptions of these ones are presented on the foowing pages. LEGEND: 10- diabase dyke 5- fesic igneous and metamorphic rocks 2- fesic to intermediate metavocnaics - mafic to intermediate metavocanics a- basat to andesite Ib- amphiboite CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The maps (MG-1 and EM-1) produced by the data obtained in the airborne magnetic and VLF-eectromagnetic surveys were to construct a geoogica interpretation (Map GI-1) of the McKinnon Prospecting property in Derry and Ermine Townships. It appears that the southwestern 60 percent of the property is underain by fesic igneous and metamorphic rocks containing sma incusions and units of basat to andesite. A contact with the main body of metavocanic rocks trends east-southeast, and east-northeast across the eastern caims. These metavocanic rocks are comprised of bands of mafic to intermediate metavocanics intercaated with horizons of fesic to intermediate metavocanics which may contain sma zones of metasediments. Most of the mafic to intermediate metavocanic rocks are basats and andesites but a horizon of amphiboite strikes eastward through the northern caims. The amphiboite horizon and surrounding rocks ie aong strike, 6 to 8 mies west of the Shenango Au-Ag Prospect. Numerous northwest and northeast to east-northeast trending diabasic dykes, intrude a rock types on the property. Three sets of potentia faut zones, striking 300 to 330 degrees, 270 to 285 degrees and 200 to

13 1 11 t degrees, cut across the property. The set of fauts trending 300 to 330 degrees appears to be the youngest in age. Of the twenty conductive zones on the property, deineated by the resuts of the VLF-eectromagnetic survey, a, or parts of 18 zones are thought to represent underying bedrock responses, with Ony zones L and N, the western conductor of zone M and end of one R are thought to be caused by the akeshore the north effect or changes in topographic reief. The remaininng zones represent shears ocated in four genera types of geoogica environments. 1- Mafic to intermediate metavocanicss Zones -A -C (2nd from east) -D (east) -E (east) -F -R -S; 2- Fesic to intermediate metavocanics: Zones -C (east conductor and western 3 conductors ) -D (west) -G -Q -T; 3- Fesic igneous and metamorphic rocks Zones -E (west) -H -I -J -K -M (east) -O -P;

14 4- Diabase dykes: Zones -B -K (west) -13- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD The best targets for god mineraization on the property are conductive zones in metavocanic rocks, especiay those near contacts in the eastern end of the property, aong strike of the Shenango Au-Ag Prospect; and in fesic igneous and metamorphic rocks near contacts with the metavocanic horizons. These ocations are isted beow: Zone A, especiay near the intersections with fauts F8, F9 and F5; Zones C, Q and R, their intersections and intercepts with fauts F7, F8 and F9; Zones D and T, especiay at their intersections with where zone T is cut-off by Faut F5; Zone E (east), near F8; Zone F; Zone G; Zone P; Zone E Zone O. (west); and Further exporation work on the property is warrented, especiay in the above-mentioned areas. These areas shoud be mapped and any suphide mineraization and ateration samped. The resuts of the airborne geophysica surveys shoud be confirmed and cassified by competing ground magnetic and horizonta oopeectromagnetic surveys. PROPERTY DESCRIPTION, LOCATION AND ACCESS The McKinnon Prospecting property is comprised of 30 caims covering 480 hectares in the west-centra part of Hawkins Township, Saut Ste-Marie Mining Division, Ontario. The caims are registered with the Mining Recorder's Office in Saut Ste-Marie, are isted in Appendix, and are deineated on each map sheet. The property is ocated approximatey 4.3 mies southsoutheast of the viage of Oba and 31 mies east-southeast and 40 mies south-southeast of the towns of Hornepayne and Hearst, respectivey. Oba can be reached through Hearst by taking Highway

18 -2- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD 583 and a grave road south or through Hornepayne by grave road to the east then to the south. A grave road south from Oba passes within mie of the southeastern corner of the caim group. Numerous bush roads cross the property. Approximatey haf the property is forest covered with the remainder having been recenty ogged. A sma tributary of the Oba River fows through the eastern caims. A sma ake is ocated 0.3 mies north of the northeastern most caim and Gu Lake ies 1.1 mie southeast of the property. Topographica reief in the area is generay ow. Suppies, services and manpower are avaiabe in the Hearst and Hornepayne areas. GEOLOGY The geoogy underying the caim group is shown on Geoogica Compiation Sheet Manitouwadge-Wawa Area of the Ontario Department of Mines. This map indicates that a 1.5 mie wide band of mafic metavocanic rocks trends east through the property. Contacts with fesic igneous and metamorphic rocks are situated just south of the northern boundary and 0.2 to 0.4 mies south of the property. A north-northwest striking midde to ate Precambrian diabase dyke intrudes the metavocanics in the extreme southwestern caims. The Shenango Au-Ag Prospect is ocated in mafic metavocanic rocks approximatey 3 mies east, aong strike, from the property. In 1936, 1937 and 1945, 687 oz. of Au and 37 oz. of Ag were recovered from 2,400 tons of ore. Mineraization was found in auriferous quartz veins aong the southern contact of a magnetic anomay that strikes westward from centra Hawkins Township. The resuts of an airborne magnetic and eectromagnetic survey by Aerodat for the Ministry of Northern Deveopment and Mines, maps

19 -3- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD and show that a weak eectromagnetic anomay is ocated near this god prospect. Another god showing, 1.6 mies east, aong strike, from the Shenango Prospect, ies in mineraized veins within quartz migmatite. The aeromagnetic data was corrected for diurna variations by using a base ine as a reference. The data was then contoured at 20 gamma intervas and presented on Map MG-1. The VLF-EM was transferred from the Totem 2AG memory to profied form. A base vaue was determined for the VLF-EM profied data. These vaues were used to correct for variations in transmitter strength and the corrected vaues were potted on Map EM-1. The positive vaues were contoured at intervas of 2^. The conductor axes were determined and abeed A, B, C, etc. No priority was attached to the abeing system. A geoogica interpretation of the magnetic data pus conductor axes are shown on Map GI-1.

22 SURVEY RESULTS AND INTERPRETATION Magnetic Survey -6- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD Generay the magnetic isograms trend east-west, decreasing at a reativey constant rate southward and northward from series of centray ocated magnetic highs. These highs define the ocation of units of mafic metavpcanic rocks, probaby amphiboite (see Map Gi-1), that strike eastward across the centra part of the property. The Shenango Au-Ag Prospect ies aong strike of the southern contact of the amphiboite, 3 mies to the east. The amphiboites appear to be dipping cose to verticay. The magnetic vaues surrounding the highs representing the amphiboites are indicative of mafic to intermediate metavocanic rocks (basat to andesite). One mie to the south and 2000 feet northeast of the centre of the magnetic highs, ows were deineated by the resuts of the magnetic survey. The government geoogy map indicates that these areas are underain by fesic igneous and metamorphic rocks. Aternativey, because of the inear nature of the southern series of ows, this area coud aso be underain by horizons of fesic to intermediate metavocanic rocks. The magnetic isograds increase southeastward, south of the southern highs, indicating that a second unit of mafic to intermedate metavocanic rocks (basat to andesite) strikes northeast across the southeastern corner of the surveyed area. Narrow series of magnetic highs trend north-northwest across the property. These highs represent the ocations of three diabase dykes intruding the metavocanic and granitic rocks. Breaks and distortions in the eastery trending contour pattern suggest that three.possibe faut zones cut across the rocks on the property. Two zones (Fi and F2) strike north-

23 -7- northwest and the third zone (F3) trends northwest. VLF-Eectromagnetic Survey H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD The ocations of four conductive zones on the property were defined by the resuts of the VLF-eectromagnetic survey. Zones A and B trend north-northwest, zone C to the northwest, and zone D strikes west. Conductive zone A is comprised of two conductors crossing the magnetic contour pattern aong faut zone F2. It may represent mineraized zones in mafic to intermediate metavocanics, associated with faut F2. Zone B aso trends north-northwest across the magnetic contour pattern, near the eastern boundary of the property. The conductor coud be caused by a shear in mafic to intermediate metavocanics, which crosses a contact between amphiboite, to the north, and basat-andesite, to the south. The southern end of zone B ies near faut F3. Zone C is situated in a magnetic ow that crosses the southwestern boundary of the property. It defines the ocation of a potentia shear in mafic to intermediate metavocanics. Conductor D trends west aong the magnetic contour pattern in the northeastern most caims. The western end is cut-off by the empacement of a diabase dyke. The zone appears to be caused by a shear conformabe to the oca geoogy, ying in basaticandesitic rocks, north of a contact with the amphiboites to the south. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The resuts produced by the data coected in the airborne magnetic and VLF-eectromagnetic surveys were successfu in heping to define the geoogy underying the McKinnon Prospecting property

24 -8- H. FERDERBER GEOPHYSICS LTD in Hawkins Twp. and in deineating the positions of four conductive zones on the caim group. Over 90 percent of the property appears to be underain by a 1.5 mie wide band of mafic to intermediate rnetavocanic rocks. These rocks are comprised of centraized east trending horizons of amphiboite surrounded by rocks of basatic to andesitic composition. A contact with fesic igneous and metamorphic rocks, ocated to the north, ies across the northwestern boundary. Another intrusion of fesic igneous and metamorphic rocks or a unit of fesic to intermediate metavocanics ies south and east of the property, in contact with the 1.5 mie wide band of mafic to intermediate metavocanics to the north and a second band of simiar metavocanics to the south. Three northnorthwest trending diabase dykes and three possibe faut zones cut across the rocks underying the surveyed area. The four conductive zones on the property define the ocations of shear or faut zones. Of these four zones, zone A, representing suphide mineraization in mafic to intermediate metavocanics associated with faut F2, and zone D in basatic-andesitic rocks just north of the amphiboite horizon, exhibit the best potentia for god mineraization. The property shoud be prospected mapped and samped. Tighty spaced magnetic tota fied and vertica gradient surveys shoud be competed to enhance the imits of the amphiboite horizon and surrounding rocks. The conductive zones coud than be better defined and cassified by conducting a horizonta oopeectromagnetic survey. HLEM anomaies near the amphiboite horizon then shoud be tested by diamond driing.
