L , " L , " LCATIN AND ACCESS The claims are lcated adjacent t the west bundary f Dundnald Twnship, in the Larder Lake Mining Divisin, f ntari. Highway 67 crsses the suthern half f the prperty, as well as the main track f the ntari Nrthland Railway. The prperty is verlain almst entirely by verburden. The gelgy can be inferred by extraplatin frm gvernment gelgical maps. A preliminary map available frm the.d.m. shws that ne 'Unnd drill hle n the west bundary f claim intersected the cntact between andesites and peridtite with the andesite n the nrth side. This hle was drilled by Nranda Mines, and the lgs filed with the.d.m. The andesite frms part f a series f vlcanic and r.edimentary rcks f Pre-cambrlan age. These rcks are the ldest types in the area and subsequently intruded by basic and ultra-basic rcks, including peridtites and gabbr f Haileyburian age. It appears A. C. A. HWE. P.KN.

2 that the prperty Is entirely underlain by these rck types. The Alex mine t the suth f the prperty cntains a depsit f nickel and cpper. The mineralizatin ccurs in the peridtites clse t the cntact with andesites. The mine is nt prducing at the present time thugh sme shipments were made in the past. MAGNETMETER SURVEY Wrk was carried ut n this prperty in the hpes f finding Nickel bearing sulphides alng the cntact between the vlcanics and ultra-basic intrusives which were knwn frm previus wrk, t ccur in the area. Surface mapping was f little r n use n the prperty due t the heavy verburden. Under these circumstances a magnetmeter Mirvey was selected. This survey wuld differentiate between the vlca nics and the ultra-basic intrusives (serpentinized peridtite) due t their different magnetic susceptibilities. A 4,000' E - W base line was cut alng the apprximate centre line f the 5 claim grup. Nrth - Suth sectin lines were cut at 200 ft intervals. Readings were taken at 100 ft intervals alng the sectin lines except in anmalus areas where readings were taken every.s lee t. The magnetmeter used was a Sharpe Flux-gate magnetmeter. The ultra-basic intrusive was readily utlined (see ac cmpanying map) by a magnetic anmaly shwing a maximum f 410 gammas. Frm the results f the survey the ultra-basic bdy is judged t extend frm line 17W t line 5E a distance f 2200 feet. The intrusive is suspected t vary in width frm apprximately 00' wide n line 16W t A. C. A. HWE, P. END.

3 a maximum f apprximately 600 feet wide n sectin 2E. The interpreted bundary is indicated by a brken line n the accmpanying map. The anmaly Indicates a bdy rather eymetrical in plan and shws sme suggestin f a nrtherly dip. The intrusive bdy is judged t be apprximately 200 feet belw surface. ELECTRMAGNETIC SURVEY An EM survey was als carried ut n the same grid, Cnsiderable truble was encuntered due t the presence f pwer lines. Tw different instruments were used, Sharpe SE 00 and a l ess sensitive Sharpe SE 200. A weak anmaly was picked up using the latter. This anmaly lay t the suth f the serpentine bdy and is judged t have been caused by the cnductive prperties f serpentinized peridtite rather than sulphides. (Subsequent drilling prved this t be the case.) The results f the magnetmeter survey indicate that an intrusive ultra-basic bdy, prbably peridtite ccurs in the centre f the 5 claim grup which were surveyed. The Alex rebdy ccurs n the cntact between a similar ultra-basic and andesite, and was apparently lcalised alng a rll in this cntact. Since similar cnditins exist n the Alsf, it is recmmended that the cntacts f the ultra-basic intrusive be tested by diamnd drilling. Bth sides f the intrusive shuld be drilled, as veil as ne hle at each end f the plug, and a ttal f 2500 feet f drilling is recmmended. Additinal drilling will depend njfchje^esults btained.
