7 PElER W A cr ASSOC LTD SURVEY SPECFCATONS 5 The induced plarizatin P survey was carried ut using a pulse type system the principal cmpnents f which are manufactured by Crne Gephysics Ltd and Huntec Limited f Metr plitan Trnt Ontari The system cnsists baaically f three units a receiver Crne Huntec a transmitter and a mtr generatr Huntec The transmitter which prvides a maximum f 7 5 kw d c t the grund btains its pwer frm a c p s three Rhase alternatr driven by a gasline engine The cycling rate f the transmitter is 2 secnds current n and 2 secnds current ff with the pulses reversing cntinuusly in plarity The data recrded in the field cnsists f aareful measurements f the current in amperes flwing thrugh electrdes Cl and the C2 primary vltage V appearing between the tw ptential electrdes Pl and P2 during the current n part f the cycle and the apparent chargeability Ma presented as a direct readut using a 450 millisecnd delay and a 650 millisecnd sample windw by by a micrprcessr the Huntec receiver a digital receiver cntrlled As previusly mentined the survey was initially started using a Crne Newmnt type receiver the sampling specificatins f which are 450 millisecnd delay and a 450 millisecnd sample windw This instrument ean nly integrate up t 3 cycles at a time and in nisy cnditins the effect f nise must be remved by making several measurements and n a averaging hand calculatr whereas the Huntec instrument can stack and carry ut the running average any number f times The apparent resistivity Pa in hm metres is prprtinal t the rati f the primary vltage and the measured current the prprtinality factr depending n the gemetry f the array used The chargeability and resistivity are called apparent as they are values which that prtin f the earth sampled wuld have if it were hmgeneus As the earth sampled is usually inhmgeneus the calculated apparent chargeability and resistivity are functins f the actual chargeability and resistivity f the rcks The majrity f the surveying was carried ut using the ple diple methd f surveying n this methd the current electrde Cl and the tw ptential electrdes P and P2 are mved in unisn alng G O YSCAJ SERVCJ S

8 c PElEll J WALC01l ASSOC LTD SURVEY SPECFCATONS cnt d 6 the survey lines The spacing na n an integer between Cl and P is kept cnstant fr each traverse at a distance rughly equal t the depth t be explred by that traverse while that f P and P2 the diple is kept cnstant at a The secnd current electrde C2 is kept cnstant at infinity Thus usually n a ple diple array traverse with an electrde spacing f 100 metres a bdy lying at a depth f 50 metres will prduce a strng respnse whereas the same bdy lying at a depth f 100 metres will nly just be detected By running subsequent traverses at different electrde separatins mre precise estimates can be made f depth width thickness and percentage f sulphides f causative bdies lcated by the P methd On the diple diple methd emplyed n grid if the secnd electrde Cz is als mved alng the survey lines Ci Cz als being the diple length a apart These surveys were carried ut using S diples and taking apprpriate separatin measurements 30 and 50 metre i i G Q YSCAJ SEllVCJ S

9 r i u PETER J W ALCOll ASSOC LTD 7 DSCUSSON OF RESULTS Grid 411 Essentially ne line was run here ver an essentially single line V L F cnductr and a cincident cpper lead and silver gechemical expressin n fact the V L F cnductr axis as indicated by the lcatin f the hand trench appears t be at the bundary f a chargeability and resistivity lw which culd be indicative f deepening verburden Grid 2 This grid was prpsed t investigate a cmbined V L F lead silver anmaly near the grandirite granitic cntact Line 0 was surveyed with a 15 metre diple and first t furth separatin measurements btained As can be seen frm the pseud sectin plt a backgrund f 6 and t 8 millisecnds was btained ver the grandirite abve which three pssible anmalus znes were discernible as illustrated The cntact with the yunger barren granite t the suth wuld appear t be arund the baseline as shwn by the drp in the chargeability readings As the results shwed gd cnsistency ver all spacings it was decided that the same infrmatin culd be btained faster by prfiling with a 30 metre diple and making nly first and secnd separatin measurements at 15 metre intervals The results are best illustrated by the cntur plans f apparent chargeability Maps W Here it can be seen that mst f the area surveyed exhibited anmalus values i e indicative f minr sulphide mineralizatin thrughut abve which mre prminent anmalus cnditins znes A t C as utlined by the 12 5 millisecnd cntur presumably representative f further cncentratins f sulphide mineralizatin assciated with alaskite dykes are readily apparent The strngest anmalus zne zne A lcated n r near the granite cntact near the baseline and pen t the nrtheast with an indicated dip t the nrthwest frm the first t furth separatin wrk n Line 250 E was tested by a drill set up n the rad ncreased sulphide mineralizatin with traces f thse f ecnmic minerals was bserved in the crings alng with many dyke intersectins GlmlYSCAJ SERVC S

10 n U pmer J WAJ C01 rd ASSOC LTD B DSCUSSON OF RESULTS cnt d Znes Band C appeared t be f the same causative surce as illustrated n the deeper separatin wrk n Line 400 E znes are undefined t the west These The strngest respnse f this zne was apparently tested by a previus hlder f the grund as surmised frm the lcatin f an bserved casing rd Hwever anther hle was drilled n the rad near the bundary f the zne arund Line 400 E where similar subsurface cnditins t thse in the hle investigating Tw zne A were encuntered nrth nrtheasterly trending resistivity lws can be bserved near the cntact in the sutheastern prtin f the grid which were cincident with the chargeability anmalies n sme lines and nt s n thers They presumably are epresentative f faulting the strnger f these is cincident with a tpgraphic draw and the causative surces f the V L F cnductrs Grid 13 This grid was designed t cver a narrw silver lead gechemical anmaly n the ne hand and a brader cpper anmaly extending t the sutheast n the ther N anmalus chargeability respnse was btained ver the gechemical expressin n Line 0 carried ut with a 50 metre diple with first and secnd separatin readings at 25 metre intervals where the backgrund respnse ver the grandirte 3 t 4 millisecnds was smewhat lwer than that btained ver grid 2 acrss the valley A brad weak respnse reasnably cincident with the cpper anmaly and undefined t the sutheast was btained n the adjining tw traverses Maps W Grid 114 This grid basically cnsisted f a ne line traverse with a 30 metre diple ver a lead zinc anmaly in the grandirite near the granite cntact Backgrund respnses in the rder f 3 millisecnds were bserved acrss the line with the exceptin f a cuple f higher G OPYSCA SERVJCHS

12 U E1 ER E WAJ COrr it ASSOC LTD c n u SUMMARY 10 CONCLUSONS AND RECOMMENDATONS Between Octber 7th and 19th 1983 Peter E Walctt Assciates Limited carried ut limited induced plarizatin surveying ver fur gridsin the Beaverdell area f British Clumbia fr Canstat Petrleum The surveys failed t delineate any chargeability respnse that culd be indicative f sulphide mineralizatin n grids 1 and 4 essentially ne line checks The results ver grid 3 where a brad weak respnse was btained ver a prtin f a large cpper sil anmaly appear t indicate the presence f a large certainly unecnmic at this time lw grade cpper prphyry system Thse ver grid 2 lcated near the granite cntact suggest the grandirite t be weakly mineralized thrughut in this area as indicated by the higher backgrund chargeability values Further cn centratins f mineralizatin were indicated by znes f strnger induced plarizatin respnse which in each case were undelineated Testing f these by brehle investigatin revealed increased sulphide mineralizatin as the causative surces but with small pr prtins f thse f ecnmic minerals As a result the writer recmmends that any further wrk in the area be based n gelgic cnsideratin althugh there wuld appear t be plenty f scpe fr further anmalies t the west n grid in albeit a cstly drill prpsitin n accunt f the tpgraphy 1 j 1 PETER E WALC Respectfully submitted r fs g T tl iteb Vancuver B C Peter E Halc q tt P ng Gephysicts 1 February 1984 G Dl lysca SERVCJ S 11
