GELGY The reginal gelgy has been described by Harding (1942), and Wlfe (1982). Thmpsn (1972) and Mre and Thmpsn (1980) describe the Flintn Grup metasediments. The fllwing synpsis f the general gelgy is mdified slightly frm Wlfe. General Cenlgy Bedrck is f late Precambrian age. The ldest rcks are meta- vlcanics and metasediments f the Hermn Grup. These are intruded by sdic granitic bdies, including the Nrthbrk Bathlith, and ptassic granitic bdies. Resting uncmfrmably n the Nrthbrk Bathlith are the Flintn Grup clastic metasediments, cmprising mafic, carbnate, siliceus and cnglmeratic metasediments. Evidence f at least three x perids f defrmatin is present in the Hermn and Flintn Grup rcks \ which have been flded int a series f antifrms and synfrms with nrth t nrtheast trending axes. Metamrphic grade ranges frm upper greenschist facies t amphiblite facies

Descriptin f Rck Types Hermn Grup -.Mafic t Intermediate Vlcanics Mafic Vlcanics (MV) This rck, which utcrps alng the western edge f the nrth-blck grid, is prbably the ldest rck in the area. It is a fine-grained, medium- green chlritic andesite r basalt which is massive r very weakly fliated. It is prbably cmprised f massive vlcanic flws. This rck type may als ccur as thin units within the amphiblites. Amphiblite (A) There are several varieties f amphiblite, which ccupies a zne several hundred feet wide between the Flintn Grup sedimentary rcks and the mafic vlcanics described abve. The varieties are: 1. massive t schistse, fine-grained black amphiblite; 2. carse-grained t very carse- grained, dense, black, weakly fliated amphiblite; cmprised as is type l t f 7(^ amphible and 3C^ feldspar; 3. a well-fliated fragmental amphi X blite with a rugh-textured, pitted, irregular weathered surface; the presence f several recgnizable runded quartzite fragments t several inches suggests this unit may be a mafic cnglmerate; the weathered "pits" may als dente the fragmental aspect, althugh sme may be the result f structural r metamrphic segregatin rather than f sedimentary r vlcanic fragments; 4. massive, blcky, unfliated, carse-grained amphiblite with irregular jints; unit is feet wide and may be a dyke r sill; 5. hrnblende-plagiclase gneiss with equal parts f the tw cmpnents and a prnunced striped appearance in mst ccurrences; - 7 -
6. quartz-plagiclase-hrnblende gneiss, similar t unit 5, but with variable amunts f quartz; 7. garnetiferus amphiblite with up t 207c almandine garnet; bserved in the suth blck. The rigin f the amphiblites is nt clear. The variety f rck types, especially including a fragmental unit, suggests they may be structurally distinct frm the mafic vlcanics t the west, and may even represent vlcaniclastic sediments derived by the weathering f the vlcanic pile befre the depsitin f the Flintn Grup sediments. Alter natively, the diversity f rck types may be in part explained by the metamrphism f highly sheared and altered rcks adjacent t the cntact between vlcanic and sedimentary rcks. Bitite Schist (B) x Under this heading cme a variety f bitite-rich rcks, many f which are nt actually schist. These include the cmbinatins quartz- bitite, bitite-hrnblende and hrnblende-bitite and are mst cmmnly fund in the vlcanic rcks adjacent t the cntact with the Flintn Grup sediments. A particularly distinct type which may mark this transitin zne -is the cmbinatin quartz-plagiclase-bitite-hrnblende (ichlrite t c arbnate) seen in and near the trenches just nrth f the Addingtn prperty and n strike between 6N and 8N at 2+30W. Flintn Grup - Metasedimenj:s Quartzite Cnglmerate (C) This rck is cmprised f 70 t 85% pebbles and cbbles f which bq-80% i s light grey quartzite and the remainder is mainly white vein quartz with up t y/* b lack quartz and black chert and quartzite. Thin beds f - 8 -
quartzite ccur within thick cnglmerate units and define riginal bedding planes. Near the nrth end f the nrth blck, the cnglmerate is slaty t schistse, as a result f the large prprtin f chlrite and sericite in the matrix. ne utcrp f white quartzite cnglmerate ccurs near the sutheast crner f the suth blck. Wlfe (pp ) describes the cnglmerate and ther metasediments in cnsiderable detail. Quartzite (Q) Quartzite ccupies a large part f the suth claim blck between the cnglmerate and the vlcanic rcks. It is white t buff t light grey, fine t medium-grained, and usually sericitic. It is usually sheared and has a prminent fliatin, althugh in places mre massive beds have resisted this and have retained riginal bedding planes, which may be at a high angle t the fliatin. The quartzite may grade t sericite- quartz schist and appears^arknic in places and may als be cnglmeratic. In the nrthern part f the nrth blck it is slaty t schistse, with a high prprtin f chlrite and sericite. In the suth blck adjacent t the vlcanic cntact the quartzite has a higher bitite and sericite cntent giving either a hard grey schistse quartzite r a very sft, friable, massive rck which weathers t gently runded utcrps. Quartzfeldspathic Sandstne (QF) This rck ccurs alng the eastern side f bth the nrth and suth grids. It is a grey t buff, fine-t-medium-grained, massive t well-fliated rck with appreciable muscvite and bitite in additin t quartz and feldspar. It is mre feldspathic than the quartzite and may in places be cnglmeratic r calcareus. The presence f carbnate (calcite) in a few samples suggests this may be the carbnate-bearing 9
quartzfeldspathic sandstne described by Wlfe as unit Ile f the Lessard Frmatin rather than the nn-carbnate-bearing sandstnes (units la r le) f the Bishp Crners Frmatin with which the rck is herein identified. This questin has nt been reslved. Bitite-Quartz Schist^(BQ) This rck type is, in places, especially in the nrth blck, mappable as a separate unit, althugh elsewhere it is a variatin f the quartzfeldspathic sandstne. ne sectin, apprximately between 9E and 10E in the nrth blck cnsists f a banded gneissic hrnblende-bitite- quartz rck, in places interlayered with bitite-quartz schist r quartzfeldspathic sandstne. This may be the bitite-carbnate schist unit f the Lessard Frmatin, as described by Wlfe, althugh the rck is generally nt calcareus. Garnetiferus Bitite Schist (G) X This rck ccurs alng the cntact between the Tudr Frmatin i vlcanics and the Flintn Grup sediments. It is gruped with the sediments althugh its lcatin between the tw majr units suggests it may be the highly altered shear i zne which has been subsequently metamrphsed. The rck is dark grey, medium- t carse-grained garnet-bitite-hrnblende ^ p lagiclase), in places with minr magnetite. It has a gneissic, streaky appearance and may have assciated irregular quartz veins. Mineralized Znes Althugh n assays were made and detailed prspecting was nt dne, pssible mineralized znes have been identified n the basis f the gelgical setting. Wlfe (pg. 76) describes the setting fr gld mineralizatin alng the cntact between Tudr Frmatin mafic vlcanics and sedimentary rcks f the Flintn Grup. He ntes that the gld ccurs as disseminatins
within small quartz stringers and veins, penetrating bth the vlcanic and sedimentary units. He believes that quartz veins within the sedimentary rcks are the mst auriferus and suggests that auriferus quartz veins are assciated with shear znes at the uncnfrmity. Quartz veins were nted in all rck types but mst were f massive white quartz which frmed late in the sequence f tectnic events and are usually barren. A few ccurrences were nted f thin, tabular veins f greyish banded (ribbn?) quartz with dark rck inclusins. Thse veins appear t be related t tectnic activity, especially shearing; in sme ther gld districts, such veins are auriferus. ccurrences f these veins were fund near 14S, 5W;16S,6W; 6N,2E; and 12N, 5W. A mre cmplete descriptin f these znes must await sampling and assaying. Structural Gelgy Faults and Shear Znes Several faults r shear znes can be inferred frm tpgraphic i features as shwn n the gelgy maps. In the nrth blck the mst bvius shear zne fllws the cntact between the vlcanic and sedimentary rcks. Althugh ther wrkers have suggested the shear zne fllws an uncnfrmity between the tw rck types it is pssible that the cntact is, fr part f its length at least, defined by the shear zne with little r n relatinship t a presumed uncnfrmity. ther faults can be inferred n the basis f tpgraphic lineaments and pssible deflectin f magnetic trends but at this time there is little ther evidence t supprt these inferences. In the suth blck, tpgraphic lineaments suggest there are shear znes r faults alng the sedimentary rck-vlcanic rck;, cntact, and ne r mre faults alng the prminent valley within the vlcanics. Again, lesser faults can be inferred but nt supprted by much evidence. An air pht study wuld be useful in this regard
Flds In the nrth blck the prtrusin f vlcanic rcks int the Flintn Grup sediments may be explained by faulting r flding r a cmbinatin f these events. As there is n evidence within the vlcanic rcks, such as a traceable lithlgy, t supprt an rigin f the prtrusin by flding, it appears that faulting can mre satisfactrily explain this feature. Hwever, that flding was imprtant in the structural histry can be seen by evidence in the sedimentary rcks. In bth the nrth and suth blcks cntacts between quartzite r sandstne and cnglmerate in places run acrss the fliatin directin, a feature suggesting these rcks have been flded int steeply plunging flds whse axial planes are parallel t the directin f the prminent and pervasive fliatin, that is 005 t 015. In sme quartzite utcrps, particularly at 13S, 4W, where massive quartzite has resisted the shearing actin f the main defr- -s matinal event, bedding can be seen t ccur at varius angles t the fliai tin. Althugh n mst utcrps, cnglmerate cbbles are greatly stretched parallel t this fliatin, in the cnglmerate between 6N and IN at 1AE t 16E, the cbbles are nt flattened and are essentially equidimensinal n the utcrp surface, althugh greatly stretched in the vertical directin'".. This may indicate this area is in a fld nse. Fliatin The mst prevalent fliatin is a well develped schistsity in all f the sedimentary and sme f the vlcanic rcks; the massive mafic vlcanic rcks may shw a well develped cleavage and certain amphiblites display a gneissic fliatin. This fliatin is remarkably unifrm, varying frm 350 t but mst cmmnly is 005 t 020, with a dip f 65 t 85 0 t the east. The fliatin is parallel t all majr gelgic cntacts
SURVEY METHDS Electrmagnetic (VLF) Survey An electrmagnetic (VLF) Survey was dne n the prperty. The survey emplyed the Rnka EM-16 instrument using the transmitter statin NSS at Annaplis, Maryland (frequency 21.4 khz). All readings were taken facing apprximately east. In-phase (dip angle) and ut-f- phase (quadrature) readings were taken and are given, tgether with prfiles, n the accmpanying plans. Inflectin pints are shwn n the prfiles. Magnetic Survey A magnetic survey was dne n the prperty. Readings were taken at 100-ft intervals n all crss-lines and n all base-and tie-lines, with ccasinal clser spacing fr detail. The instrument emplyed was the GM122 prtn magnetmeter manufactured by Barringer Research. The instrument measures the abslute magnitude f the ttal magnetic field with a sensitivity f l gamma. Fr wrk dne n the Nrth, Suth, Nrtheast and Sutheast Sheets, a crrectin fr diurnal variatin was made by lping back r re-reading statins n the base line r tie lines. Fr the Nrthwest and part f the Nrth Sheet where a high magnetic gradient alng the base line decreased the accuracy f readings taken at these statins and fr part f the Nrthwest Sheet. The crrectin fr diurnal variatin was made by reading the main base statin at the start and end f the day and apprtining any difference ver the intervening several hurs equally amng all readings. As the base statin readings n mst days were within 20 gammas f the starting value f 57,200 gammas, and as the anmalies were -13 -
in the range f hundreds r thusands f gammas, this methd f crrecting fr diurnal variatin is satisfactry. Crrected readings were pltted n the accmpanying plans and cntured at intervals f 100 gammas. Pltted readings have had a cnstant value f 50,000 gammas subtracted
RESULTS AND INTERPRETATIN Results fr bth the magnetic and electrmagnetic surveys are presented and discussed belw fr each f the five map sheets. Suth Sheet Electrmagnetic The Flat ut-f-phase respnse indicates that n bedrck cnductrs were detected. Althugh readings culd nt be taken ver the swamp and pnd in the middle f this blck, -the build-up in the in-phase readings n lines 10S and 128 at 3W indicate the prximity f the swamp edge. Als the build-up in in-phase readings tward the eastern edge f the grid prbably als indicate the increasing verburden thickness althugh n sharp edge effect was detected. Magnetic x The cntact between the vlcanic and sedimentary rcks is fllwed apprximately by the 57,500 r 57,600 gamma cntur. Slightly west f this cntact, hwever, is a magnetic ridge f 57,900 gammas with highs t 59,000 gammas. This magnetic ridge is prbably the result f higher magnetite cntent in bitite-and garnet-rich rcks which ccur alng the cntact, with sme magnetic cntributin frm the edge effect due t the elevatin difference between the tw rck types. Away frm the cntact, the vlcanic rcks generally have magnetic readings f 57,500 t 57,900 gammas, with a ttal magnetic relief f 3000 gammas. ne small magnetic high within the vlcanic area is unexplained. A magnetic lw which runs frm 9W, 18S t 7W, 12S is rughly crrelated with a fragmental vlcanic.unit, althugh the significance f this fact is nt clear
Areas underlain by sedimentary rcks have readings frm 57,300 t 57,500 gammas. They have a lw magnetic relief f nly 500 gammas and weakly expressed grid-nrth linear trends. Sutheast Sheet Magnetic The mst prminent magnetic feature is a brad high t 58,600 gammas which appears t be neatly defined by the 57,900 gamma cntur and may define a mafic vlcanic unit as discussed fr the EM survey. The generally lwer magnetic readings between 57,000 and 57,500 gammas ver the western third f the grid are cnsistent with thse seen elsewhere in areas underlain by Flintn Grup rcks.' A feature in the nrthwest crner f the grid cnsists f tw weak, narrw linear magnetic lws sme 250 feet apart. Readings in tthe area presumably underlain by granitic rcks are^in the range 57,400 t 57,900 and shw n significant trends. Electrmagnetic Several trends are apparent as fllws. A weakly expressed linear in-phase anmaly can be traced frm AS, 13E t 14N, 12E. A similar, but mre prnunced in-phase anmaly t the east f the first can be traced frm 6S, 20E t 16N, 16E. These tw anmalies very clsely fllw the 57,900 gamma magnetic cntur n either side f the magnetic high and thus appear t define the eastern and western cntacts f an inferred bdy f mafic vlcanics. A shrt in-phase anmaly at 16E between lines 6S and 2S crrespnds with part f a negative ut-f-phase anmaly which
runs frm 6S, 17E t 16N, 15E. The latter very clsely fllws the axis f the magnetic high and indicates that the rck unit respnslbie f r this feature is mre cnductive than the surrunding rck types, N cause is knwn fr a small anmly in the nrthwest crner f the grid. In summary, the magnetic and EM-16 surveys utline a bdy f rck which is slightly mre cnductive and magnetic than the enclsing rcks. This bdy, which is 400 feet wide at the nrth end f the grid and 500 t 600 feet wide at the suth, lies alng the apprximate psitin f the cntact between metasedimentary rcks f the Flintn Grup grandirite f the Nrthbrk Bathlity. Wlfe (1982) shws a sliver f amphiblite and plagliclase-hrnblende gneiss alng the same cntact sme 3000 feet t the nrth and it is assumed this mafic unit cntinues n this grid. Nrth Sheet Magnetic The cntact between sedimentary and vlcanic rcks is f critical imprtance because f the relatinship t gld mineralizatin n the Adding* tn prperty. The cntact is either flded r faulted arund a "nse" r prtrusin f vlcanic rcks befre it resumes the nrmal grid-nrth trend, sme 900 feet west f the main cntact that can be fllwed frm the suth blck thrugh the Addingtn prperty. The main cntact n the east side f the prtrusin is marked nly by a gradual increase frm 57,500 t 57,800 gammas ver apprximately 200 feet. This is in sharp cntrast t the cntact n the west side f the vlcanic prtrusin which is marked by a very strng linear magnetic feature. This magnetic high, with readings t 61,500 gammas, fllws very clsely what may be the faulted western edge f the utcrps f vlcanic rcks. The high is flanked t the west by lws dwn t 55,
gammas'fr a magnetic relief fr the zne f 5,600 gammas. The prbable explanatin fr the prminent high is that the faulted cntact is marked by a zne cntaining magnetite and pssibly pyrrhtite, the adjacent sedimentary rcks cntain garnet and bitite with which magnetite is cmmnly assciated in this rck unit. A pssible cntributing factr t this magnetic anmaly is the edge effect prduced by the scarp alng the cntact, but this by itself is unlikely t accunt fr mre than a few hundred gammas f the magnetic relief. The westernmst cntact zne very clsely fllws the 57,500 gamma cntur and marks a gradual increase in magnetic values int the vlcanic mass t the west. A prminent magnetic high apprximately 1500 gammas abve backgrund at IN, 7W may be related t a blck f massive, unaltered mafic vlcanics. The magnetic trugh adjacent t the high marks the apprximate psitin f the cntact between these rcks and the amphiblites t the east. Away frm the cntact with the sedimentary rcks, the vlcanics generally have magnetic readings f 57,500 t 57,800 gammas as seen in the nrthwest crner f the area. In additin, the vlcanics have cnsider able magnetic relief with readings ver a range f 5,600 gammas frm 55,900 t 61,500 gammas. In terms f their magnetism, the areas underlain by sedimentary rcks can be divided int three znes. East f 12E, the readings are less that 57,600 gammas with a linear magnetic lw n several lines at 15E. This lw crrespnds t a 200-ft wide belt f cnglmerate. Between 12E and 9E, is a zne f higher magnetic readings, between 56,600 and 58,000 gammas, which crrespnds t a zne f mre mafic sedi mentary rcks. Between this zne and the vlcanic cntact at 4E, readings are between 57,400 and 57,600 gammas. Areas underlain by sedimentary rcks
have a maximera magnetic relief f 1200 gammas. Electrmagnetic Inflectin pints n EM prfiles fr lines t 14N quite accurately mark the edges f the swamp which runs grid-nrth between 5E and 9E. The prfiles n 12N and 14N als weakly indicate at 2+50E the western edge f the prtrusin f vlcanic rck where it is brdered by swamp. The pwer line crssing the western end f grid lines IN t 20N prbably accunts fr the high psitive readings n the end f these lines, especially in the ut-f-phase mde. Nrtheast Sheet Magnetic The magnetic survey shws a brad magnetic high sme 200 t 400 feet wide, with ne lcal high t 59,400 gammas, and flanked by lws t x 57,000 gammas. This magnetic high fllws the general cntact zne between metasediments and granitic rcks and may crrespnd t a thin belt f mafic vlcanic rcks which Wlfe (1982) has shwn t be present Just nrth f the survey area and which may extend thrugh this grid. magnetic anmalies within the brad feature are nt explained. iatin f anmlies within the brad feature are nt explained. The small The assc The assc iatin f anmalus magnetism with gld mineralizatin alng the main cntact zne n the western edge f the belt f Flintn Grup meta- sedimentary rcks suggest that this area may als have sme ecnmic ptential. The anmalus zne shuld be further investigated t determine the pssible ecnmic significance f the magnetic anmaly
The western part f the grid shws the relatively lw and unifrm magnetic pattern usually assciated with the metasedimentary rcks. Electrmagnetic The EM-:16 survey shws a pattern which is very cnsistent n all lines surveyed. The in-phase.prfile shws a prminent anmaly (inflectin pint), which trends nearly parallel t the base-line, frm 6S, 21+40E t 4N, 22E. This crss-ver appears t define a gelgic cntact, which is prbably als faulted and altered r mineralized. A secnd, weaker, in-phase anmaly at abut 25E n all lines, r 300 feet east f the first anmaly, is nt accmpanied by an ut-f-phase respnse. The tw in-phase anmaly trends may define a 300-ft wide bdy f mafic vlcanic rck as suggested als by the magnetic survey. There is a weak negative ut-f-phase anmaly which is between the tw in-phase anmalies but clser t the western ne. This indicates the narrw rck unit bracketed by the in-phase trends is a weak cnductr. As with the magnetic pattern, anmalies are mre prnunced at the nrthern end f the grid. This indicates that the bedrck surce is either mre cnductive r clser t the survace. Additnal surveying t the nrth f this grid shuld be dne. Nrthwest Sheet Magnetic The mst prminent feature is a linear magnetic high which runs frm 10S, 15W t N, 16W with a directin f apprximately 005. Readings f ver 59,100 gammas were btained. This magnetic high. crrespnds very clsely t the cntact between Tudr Grup metavlcanics
t the east and Flintn Grup metasediments t the west as determined frm randm bservatins f utcrp and published.maps f reginal gelgy (Wlfe). At tw lcalities, utcrps f garnet- bitite-magnetite schist were encuntered at tw lcatins sme 50 t 75 feet west f the axis f the magnetic high. The magnetic high is flanked t the west by a brad magnetic lw with value as lw as 56,100 gammas. The lw magnetic values, especially thse assciated with a narrw linear trend between 6S, 18W and 2N, 19W are lwer smewhat lwer than- thse encuntered elsewhere n the prperty ver areas underlain by Flintn Grup rcks. The bulk.f the area cvered by this survey is underlain by metavlcanic rcks. The magnetic pattern ver this area is relatively flat, withut any prminent trends, and with readings between 57,600 and^58,000 gammas. A few islated highs t 58,700 and lws t 57,200 gammas ccur within this area, especially near the nrthern part f the grid...;..electrmagnetic Unlike the EM surveys n all the ther grids n these claims, the results f the survey n the nrthwest grid shw nly.a general agree ment frm line t line making an interpretatin very difficult, The mst bvius feature, f curse, is the crssver fr bth the in-phase and ut-f-phase prfiles crrespnding t the pwer line. The effect f the prximity f the pwer line, cmbined with varying tpgraphy, and the presence f sme swamps has prduced s much nise as t mask any effect that wuld be due t bedrck cnductrs, especially alng the zne f interest, that is the cntact between the metavlcanic and metasedim- entary rcks. The nly identificable trends are the increasing psitive in-phase readings assciated with the utcrp edge alng the pnd
41 at the eastern edge f the grid and similar effect shwn by increasing negative in-phase readings assciated with the edge f a large swamp at the western edge f the grid. -21-!
HISTRY F EXPLRATIN Nrth Blck Althugh there is n available recrd f any previus explr atin n this blck, there is evidence that sme wrk has been dne. Several trenches were dug between 4N, 2E and 6N, 2+4E. These were apparently made t test the extensin f a mineralized zne which ccurs n the Addingtn prperty. In the rubble at 6N, 2E, vein quartz, sme with blck inclusins, is assciated with a fine-grained, dense brecciated rck. A quartz-arsenpyrite vein ccurs in utcrp nearby. Minr pyrite was als nted. Tw trenches straddle the Addingtn prperty bundary between lines 2N and AN between 10E and HE. Massive white, yellw, and rse quartz rubble was scattered arund the mre nrtherly f these...a small.trench with rusty quartz was fund n a hillside 200 feet t the nrth. In additin a small pit ccurs n strike sme 200 feet t the nrth f this. Hrnblende-turmaline-carbnatft-quartz rck" was fund in the rubble. Suth Blck n the suthern blck, ne pit, apprximately 15 ft. by 20 ft. by 10 ft. deep, was fund near 14S, 5W. This tests three r mre quartz veins, each 1-3 feet wide, in a zne.bf very sft mica-quartz.schist. Vein quartz in the rubble.is mstly'massive, white t r6se quartz.but sme "banded" quartz is present as a minr pyrite. Quartz veins are slicken- sided and have bitite-rich selvedges. The nly reprted explratin wrk is ne diamnd drill hle, feet lng, n prperty held by K.M. Sullivan, prbably at the same lcatin as the pit, althugh this'is nt certain. (Assessment Files Research ffice, ntari Gelgical Survey, Trnt). Frm east t west
the hle cut sericite schist, bitite schist, hrnblende-bitite schist, then "greenstne schist". Minr pyrrhtite and minr quartz and calcite stringers were reprted. Addingtn Mine Althugh very little explratin wrk has been dne n the tw claim blcks, the Addingtn mine (frmerly Glden Fleece Mine) between the tw blcks has been the site f mining and explratin activity since the discvery f gld there in Wlfe (pp ) gives an accunt f this activity
CNCLUSINS AND RECMMENDATINS 1. These surveys were very useful In lcating and examining the cntact between the Tudr Frmatin vlcanics and the Flintn Grup sedimentary rcks. The cnfiguratin f this cntact in the Nrth Sheet had nt previusly been shwn n published maps. 2. Further mapping shuld be dne t define the cntact zne beynd the limits f the present surveys. In particular fr the Nrth Sheet, the suthwest crner f claim E west f the beaver pnd, and the nrtheast crner f claim E shuld be mapped. 3. Further explratin alng the cntact zne shuld include prspecting trenching and sampling where the zne is expsed, and diamnd drilling f a series f shrt hles, f apprximately 100 feet each. x 4. In the Nrth Sheet, the cntact zne crrespnding t the magnetic high trending frm apprximately 2N, 2W t 12N, 2E shuld be tested by diamnd drilling. 5. Als in the Nrth Sheet, the presumed cntact zne between 12N and 18N at 5W t 5+50W shuld be prespected and pssibly, tested by diamnd drilling. 6. In the Suth Sheet, the intersectin f pssible faults with the cntact zne shuld be investigated as pssible sites f gld mineralizatin. 7..The gephysical surveys n the Nrtheast and Sutheast Sheets indicate the presence f a previusly unknwn rck unit several \
hundred feet wide, alng the cntact between metasedimentary and gran itic rcks. This unit, which is mre magnetic and cnductive than the enclsing rcks, may be the mafic vlcanic unit reprted t the nrth f the claims. The significance f this unit with regard t gld miner alizatin shuld be evaluated. 8. n the area cvered by the Nrthwest Sheet, the Magnetic Survey, tgether with bservatins f utcrps, indicates the cntact between metavlcanic rcks and a western belt f metasedimentary rck is marked by garnet-bitite-magnetite schist similar t that assciated with gld mineralizatin n the Addingtn prperty. This cntact, shuld thus be cnsidered an area wrth f further explratin
