17 - l - INTRODUCTION On March 30, 982, the Ministry f Natural Resurces fr the Prvince f Ontari released the results f a recently cmpleted airbrne magnetmeter and INPUT survey carried ut ver the Swayze metavlcanic belt. In anticipatin f this release a jint venture partnership agreement was entered int by Dejur Mines Limited and Internatinal Gld da Minerals Inc., f Denver, Clrad. The jint venture was frmed as an explratin vehicle t explre fr gld and base metals and t acquire by staking thse anmalies strategically lcated with respect t the gephysically inferred gelgy f the survey area as interpreted by Dr. W. G. Wahl. at m Fllwing the release and preliminary interpretatin 45 claims cvering 0 anmalus areas in 8 twnships were staked (ref. Fig. ). The fllwing reprt details the results f the 983 winter explratin prgramme carried ut by Derry, Michener, Bth Se Wahl n behalf f the Jint Venture partners n three f the claim blcks, designated as Raney, Denyes and Cunningham-Garnet. The explratin prgramme was designed t further define the airbrne gephysical respnse parameters identified n the varius blcks and included line cutting and gephysical surveys. The grund gephysical surveys cnsisted f a ttal field prtn magnetmeter survey and a hrizntal lp electrmagnetic survey. DERRY. MICHENER, BOOTH ft WAHL

18 - 2 - The ttal field prtn magnetmeter survey was carried ut using a Scintrex MP-2 ttal field prtn precessin magnetmeter. The ttal magnetic field intensity data was recrded at 25 m statins, 2.5 m statins in anmalus areas, at an bservatin elevatin f 2 m abve grund level, with a sensitivity f ^ l nt. Diurnal fluctuatins were nted and recrded with a Scintrex MBS-2 recrding base statin and all data crrected accrdingly. The magnetic data is presented as crrected statin values and as a cntured interpretatin f these data. The electrmagnetic survey was carried ut emplying a Maxmin n hrizntal lp electrmagnetic survey unit in the maximum cupled mde. The in-phase and quadrature respnse parameters were recrded with an accuracy f ^ 96, at 25 m statins n tw frequencies, 444 Hz and 777 Hz, utilizing a 00 m Tx-Rx cil separatin. 19 - 3 - GENERAL GEOLOGY The Swayze vlcanic belt ccurs in the suthwest prtin f the Abitibi Greenstne Belt, the largest and mst prductive greenstne belt in the Canadian Shield. The Swayze belt cnsists f mafic t felsic vlcanics with interbedded clastic and chemical sedimentary units. Intrusive rcks, ranging frm felsic t mafic in cmpsitin, ccur thrughut the belt. Recent detail mapping (l" = /4 mi.) in the area has been carried ut by Girgi Siragusa f the Ontari Gelgical Survey. This mapping subdivides the vlcanic rcks n a chemical cmpsitin basis which has lead t the recgnitin f at least tw cycles f mafic t felsic vlcanism and cncmitant sedimentary units. The recgnitin f tw "supergrups" f vlcanic cycles separated by chert-magnetite irn frmatin in the Wman River anticline in Marin and Heenan Twnships has led Siragusa t cnclude that the vlcanic cycles becme yunger t the west, with the ldest cycle verlain by the Wman River irn frmatin. The yunger cycle cntains sme kmatiitic vlcanic units in suthern Newtn and Heenan Twnships. This assciatin f an lder vlcanic cycle with irn frmatin verlain by a yunger cycle cntaining ultramafic vlcanic rcks als ccurs in the Timmins area. 20 - 4 - DENYES INTRODUCTION The Denyes claim blck is situated in the nrthwest crner f Denyes Twnship and cnsists f the fllwing five unpatented cntiguus mining claims:- P P P P P The prperty is accessible by ski-equipped, fixed-wing aircraft frm Ramsay Air Services f Sudbury, lcated 200 km suthwest f the prperty. The mre prximal charter air services in Chapleau and Ggama were clsed fr the winter Hi seasn. The line cutting was carried ut by Clary Debw, et al., during the perid frm January 2 thrugh 28, 983. The survey grid, cnsisting f 8.2 km f line, was riented east-west with the grid lines trending nrth-suth at 00 m intervals alng the base line. Twenty-five metre statins were established n all lines. REGIONAL GEOLOGY The reginal gelgical mapping, carried ut in 968, by J. F. Dnvan f the Ontari Department f Mines indicates the prperty t be underlain by a nrtherly dipping intermediate t mafic metavlcanic-metasedimentary sequence. DERRY. MICHENER, BOOTH ft WAHL

21 - 5 - A vlcanic breccia was reginally mapped alng the suthern shre f Raney Lake immediately west f statin 2+OOS n line 0+00W. Diamnd drilling carried ut by Mattagami Lake Mines Limited, 600 m west f the survey grid, intersected a nrtherly dipping metavlcanic-metasedimentary sequence cnsisting f andesite, graphitic argillite, cnglmerate and rhylite. GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYS The grund gephysical surveys were carried ut during the perid frm January 29 thrugh February l, 983 under the direct supervisin f D. G. Wahl, P.Eng. Magnetmeter Survey The magnetmeter survey, ref. map 2, was able t further define the reginal magnetic trends mapped n the prperty as a result f the gvernment- spnsred airbrne magnetmeter survey. Metasedimentary (greywacke, argillite) rcks have been reginally mapped lying immediately suth f the suthern bundary f the prperty. Magnetic data, hwever, suggests that this metasedimentary sequence may extend int the suthern third f the survey area where it is characterized by a lw t mderate magnetic relief in the range f nt. Electrmagnetic Survey The electrmagnetic survey, ref. map 22 and 23, was able t further define the electrmagnetic respnse parameters mapped n the prperty as a result f the gvernment-spnsred INPUT survey. A 00 m Tx-Rx cil separatin was emplyed n the Denyes prperty instead f the 50 m separatin used n Heenan l, Heenan 3 and Greenlaw. Tw cnductrs, D-l and D-2, were mapped n the prperty. Cnductr D-l is lcated under the waters f Raney Lake, lying apprximately parallel t and 50 t 75 m suth f the base line and exhibits a mappable strike length f up t 900 m. Depth t tp calculatins indicate that 20 t 30 m f water and glacial drift verlie the cnductr. The respnse parameters indicate that Cnductr D-2 n claim P64699 als dips steeply t the nrth and is up t 5 m wide, exhibiting a cnductivity thickness f up t 3.8 mhs at 777 Hz and 6.4 mhs at 444 Hz, again indicating a gd bedrck cnductr. Depth t tp calculatins indicate Cnductr D-2 t be verlain by up t 25 t 30 m f glacial drift. Magnetic data indicate that Cnductr D-2 e appears t be assciated with the regin f lw, belw-backgrund magnetic relief. Prevalent in the nrthern third f the prperty and flanking t the suth, the lenticular magnetic anmalies referred t abve. CONCLUSIONS The causative bdy f Cnductr D-l is thught t be a zne f sulphide mineralizatin pssibly related t the vlcanic breccia reginally mapped by J. F. Dnvan immediately west f line 0+OOW at statin 2+OOS. The causative bdy f Cnductr D-2 is thught t be a zne f weak cnductivity assciated with r lying in clse prximity t the cntact between the mafic metavlcanics and the metasedimentary rcks t the suth. The brad reginal magnetic anmaly mapped in the sutheast crner f the prperty is thught t be an andesitic flw. The narrw lenticular magnetic anmalies mapped n line are als thught t be a reflectin f mafic hst ver an area f utcrp. The majr fault identified n the airbrne data, ref. Figure 2, appears t be a majr reginal zne f adjustment and was mapped n the western half f the prperty striking nrth-nrthwesterly acrss mining claims P , P , P and P The fault zne is characterized by numerus magnetic intensity drag flds r disruptins f the reginal easterly trending magnetic pattern. Electrmagnetic Survey The electrmagnetic survey, ref. maps. 9 and 20, was able t lcate n the grund thse cnductrs identified n the prperty as the result f the gvernment-spnsred INPUT survey. Hwever, it will be nted that the grund respnse parameters are very weak relative t the six-channel INPUT anmalies recrded n the prperty. This apparent discrepancy is directly related t the cil DERRY. Had the Tx-Rx cil separatin been greater, 250 m instead f the 00 m separatin used, it wuld have defined the airbrne respnse parameters in much greater detail. The 00 m Tx-Rx separatin did, hwever, indicate that the cnductrs are valid bedrck cnductrs, prbably sub utcrp and that they are deep in the rder f 00 t 50 m. Three cnductrs, R-l, R-2 and R-3, were mapped n the prperty lying under the waters f Raney Lake. Cnductr R-l is lcated in the nrthern nethird f the survey area and was mapped n claims P and P Cnductr R-2 is lcated immediately nrth f the base line and was mapped n claims P and P Cnductr R-3 is lcated in the sutheast crner f claim P As mentined earlier, the respnse parameters are generally weak and reflect the depth t the causative bdies. The respnse parameters recrded fr cnductrs R-l and R-3 are t weak t define the physical parameters f the causative bdies; hwever, the respnse parameters fr cnductr R-2 indicate a wide, nrtherly dipping (60 O t 80 O) cnductive sheet exhibiting a cnductivity thickness f up t 5 mhs at 777 Hz and 30 mhs at 444 Hz indicating that R-2 is an excellent cnductr. Depth t tp calculatins indicate that the cnductr, prbably sub-utcrp, is very deep, in excess f 00 m. Magnetic data shws that cnductr R-2 exhibits a residual magnetic expressin in the rder f 0 nt and that this residual lies n the nrth flank f a DERRY, M ICHENER, BOOTH ft WAHL

29 nt reginal magnetic anmaly. Magnetic data als suggests that Cnductr R- 3 lies cincident with a 0 nt magnetic anmaly. CONCLUSIONS Due t the unanticipated depth f cnductrs R-l, R-2 and R-3, cmplete definitin f these anmalies was nt pssible; hwever, based n the data available these anmalies are valid bedrck cnductrs lying within a favurable gelgic envirnment. Tw f these cnductrs exhibit a direct magnetic cmpnent which is a reflectin f a slightly higher magnetic intensity assciated with the cnductr than that assciated with the hst rck. - e m The gelgically and magnetically inferred fault zne mapped n the prperty is a majr reginal structural break. RECOMMENDATIONS It is recmmended that gelgical mapping and lake sediment sampling be carried ut n the prperty during the 983 summer explratin prgramme and that mre detailed gephysics be carried ut next winter, in rder t further define cnductrs R-l, R-2 and R-3 as well as t investigate the nrth-nrthwesterly trending fault zne. The magnetic data is very erratic and apparently discntinuus; hwever, this is a typical type respnse bserved ver all high gradient areas. Electrmagnetic Survey The electrmagnetic survey, ref. maps 25 and 26, was able t further define the anmalus cnductive znes identified n the prperty as a result f the gvernment-spnsred INPUT survey. Tw cmplex cnductrs, CG-labc and CG-2, were mapped n the prperty. Cnductr CG-labc is lcated in the nrthern ne third f the survey area and was mapped striking east-west acrss claims P and P Cnductr CG-2 is lcated in the central prtin f the survey area lying apprximately parallel t and 25 t 50 m nrth f the baseline. Cnductr CG-2 appears t be less cmplex, indicating a near vertical cnductive sheet, up t 5 m wide, exhibiting strng cnductivity alng a strike length f 600 m. Cnductivity thickness calculatins fr CG-2 are difficult t ascertain due t the high magnetic field intensity assciated with and flanking this zne. This magnetic interference is reflected in the strng quadrature cmpnent in cntrast t the mre subdued in-phase respnse.
