The SP26L43 feaures Sipex's imos process allowing low power operaional characerisics of MOS echnology while meeing all of he demands of he RS-422 serial proocol over 60Mbps under load. The RS-422 proocol allows up o 0 receivers o be conneced o a mulipoin bus ransmission line. The SP26L43 feaures a driver enable conrol common o all four drivers ha places he oupu pins in a high impedance sae. Since he cabling can be as long as 4,000 fee, he RS-422 drivers of he SP26L43 are equipped wih a wide common-mode oupu volage range o accommodae ground poenial differences. 5 THEORY OF OPERTION The SP26L43 is a low-power quad differenial line driver designed for digial daa ransmission meeing he specificaions of he EI sandard RS-422 serial proocol. The SP26L43 feaures Sipex's imos process allowing low power operaional characerisics of MOS echnology while meeing all of he demands of he RS-422 serial proocol up o 60Mbps under load in harsh environmens. The RS-422 sandard is ideal for muli-drop applicaions and for long-disance communicaion. The RS-422 proocol allows up o 0 receivers o be conneced o a daa bus, making i an ideal choice for muli-drop applicaions. Since he cabling can be as long as 4,000 fee, RS-422 drivers are equipped wih a wide common mode oupu range o accommodae ground poenial differences. ecause he RS-422 is a differenial inerface, daa is virually immune o noise in he ransmission line. The SP26L43 acceps TTL or MOS inpu levels and ranslaes hese o RS-422 oupu levels. The SP26L43 feaures acive and acive driver enable conrols common o all four driver channels see Figure 8. logic on he pin (pin 4) or a logic on he pin (pin 2) will enable he differenial driver oupus. logic on he pin (pin 4) and a logic on he pin (pin 2) will force he driver oupus ino high impedance (high-z).
