2 INTRODUCTION The following is a geology survey report submitted for assessment work credit as specified by the Ministry of Natural Resources. This report shall serve as a supplement to the first year assessment, in view of the reduction of days claimed on the Gravity Survey previously submitted. Terra Surveys Limited and Geoterrex Limited are joint contract companies located at 2060 Walkley Road, Ottawa, Ontario K1G 3P5. This report covers three claims EO inclusively. Claims EO were lost in the second year and hence are not included. The claims are situated in Darling Township, lots 17 ft 18, concessions V and VI. Access to the claims in via provincial secondary highway 511 and a private logging road. The purpose of Terra/Geoterrex in having these claims is to establish a test grid on which equiment can be tested and personnel can be trained. The results of ' these tests are also used to demonstrate geophysical methods and responses to prospective clients. The "Calabogie Test Site" has also been used by geophysics students from Queen's University as a demonstration grid. Government mapping of the area showed that the claims contain a Hornblende-plagioclase schist, a B iotite schist, a biotite-hornblende schist and some paragneiss. QBOterrex 9 ltd.

3 GEOLOGY SURVEY The three claims were intensively mapped with the results shown on Map No. 1. Rocks were identified in the field and samples were taken of most outcrops. Back in the office a petrographic study classified the rocks and suggested possible parent rocks. The geology field survey ran from May 15, 1983 to June l, 1983 two geologists. employing The area consists of precambrian age Grenville Province mafic metavolcanics intercallated with less abundant metasediments (siltstones and marbles). Structural deformation can be seen in the North area of the claims demonstrated by chloritized shear zones and a marble unit which is highly deformed (see map). The metamorphic grade of the units varies from upper greenschist to lower amphibolite. Primary features such as bedding and lamination are well preserved in the metasediment. Plow textures are rarely seen but there are some pillow structures scattered throughout the metavolcanic unit. The main geological unit in the area is a basalt. Handspecimens of the unit are described as massive, weakly foliated, fine grained, and dark green in colour. Disseminated pyrite is noted in a few outcrops as well as some magnetite. From petrographic studies the dominate minerals are actinolite, plagioclase, chlorite, opaques, and epidote. Ocassionally, in some sections sphene, calcite, and pyroxene can be found. 4 depending on the grade of metamorphism but generally it averages from SO-60% of the rock. The actinolite is normally subhedral to euhedial and appears to have replaced pyroxene in the unit. The plagioclase composition of the unit varies from These appear in the less metamorphosed samples of the unit, while twinned plagioclase is seen in other areas. Due to deformation, etc., the exact composition of the plagioclase could not be determined. The plagioclase has been weakly sausuritized with inclusions of biotite, sercite, and epidote visible in the grains and along the edges. Chlorite in this unit is an alteration of pyroxene and plagioclase. In the claim , a couple of samples show a distinct change. The handspecimens were lighter in colour and coarser in grain. Petrographic inspection of these samples showed a higher content of chlorite and no actinolite. The chlorite in this rock appears to be chemically different from the rest of the unit. The birefringence was higher and the mineral was pleochroic. There was also a high percentage of calcite and iron residue. This is thought to be the products of the breakdown of actinolite. The plagioclase grains show signs of a strong deformation. The Lamella are bented in these sections with recrystallized plagioclase (fine grained) along the bend. It appears that this rock is near or on an axis of deformation. It is interpreted as a fault by this geologist. The second unit is comprised of metasediment. The handspecimens are described as grey to brown, fine grained, bedded (1-2 cm in thickness), and laminated (l-2mm). A gossan staining gives the rock QBOterrex a Hd.

5 a brown colour, which can be locally intense. The unit is about 100 metres in thickness and strikes east-west. A petrographic inspection of the unit shows that the rock contains Plagioclase (20-301), Quartz (40-501), chlorite (S-10%), Biotite and Secite (S-10%), and actinolite (2-5%). The plagioclase is normally fine grained and therefore difficult to obtain an identification. Some of the plagioclase contains sercite or has some sercite on the edge of the grain. The biotite that occurs in the sections appears to be the product of an incomplete reaction between sercite and chlorite - as these minerals are always in close association with the biotite. Actinolite is present in the rock due to the presence of carbonate in the original sediments. The third unit in the survey area is marble. Handspecimens of the unit are described as light to dark grey, massive to banded, medium grained. The unit occurs in the northern end of the claims and is 50 to 100 metres in thickness. The unit is continuous but appears highly deformed. There is no mineralization associated with the unit, nor are there any alterations. Petrographic studies reveal that the rock is 951 Calcite and can be locally dolomitic Mineralization on the claims is mostly pyrite but pyrrhotite, magnetite, and graphite can be found. These are concentrated in the basalt unit, although there is some graphite in the sedimentary unit. neoterrex 9 ltd.

6 SUMMARY OF EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT The Calabogie test site was chosen on the basis of an airborne BM anomaly. The anomaly has not been fully probed as of yet. Previous work done on the claims included a detailed gravity survey and a fixed transmitter pulse EM survey. From the work done to date, it can be concluded that the anomaly is short in length t shallow in depth. Terra-Geoterrex would like to continue to develop Calabogie into a geophysical test site. In the future, the area will be geochemically sampled. geoterrex 9 ltd.

7 CONCLUSIONS Terra-Geoterrex has found that the Calabogie grid is an excellent geophysical test site. The presence of pyrite in the basalt provides a possibility of a previously unknown conductor in the claims. In the upcoming year Terra Surveys will evaluate the claims completely.
