If you are thinking about how much is actually produced at each step, it would be 2 ATP produced during glycolysis by substrate-level phosphorylation, 2 produced during the Krebs Cycle by substrate-level phosphorylation, and 32 produced during ETP by electron transport phosphorylation, with a net yield of =36. (see Figs. 7.5, 7.6, 7.7 in the text) If the students gave an answer that accurately reflected what is actually produced at each step, it is ok to give them full credit. In that case, the only difference would be in the numbers in the "How much is present when the stage begins". If the student was interpreting it as "How much is actually produced during the stage" [which is actually pretty different than how the question is worded], the right answers for that column would be glycolysis=2, Krebs Cycle=2, ETP=32. 7
