4 ii SUMMARY A percussion drilling programme consisting of 855 feet (260.7 m) of drilling in 5 holes, was conducted in an area, almost totally devoid of outcrop on the Law Group of Mineral Claims located on Skwum Creek about 11 km WNW of Tulameen, B.C. Bedrock cuttings from 10 foot intervals were geochemically analysed for gold and arsenic. The analyses showed gold and arsenic to be present in only trace amounts. t is concluded that the amount of both elements present is not '.. '.. significant within the area evaluated.... * i
5 1. NTRODUCTON The claim area was first investigaged by JMT geologists in as a consequence of regional exploration for porphyry systems in the, area. Work by other operators and familiarity with the area by company personnel1 indicated an area of interest.around Skwum Creek. The present claims were staked in the spring and summer of 1980 to cover the anticipated signigicant areas. LOCATON, ACCESS AND PHYSOGWHY The claims straddle Skwum Creek and the main Tulameen-CoquihdLla access road. They are located 11.5 km in a direct line WNW of the small community of Tulameen, or approximately 15 km along the road from Tulameen, toward Ckihalla pass. "he area has been extensively logged and this activity has created a network of access.roads throughout the region. The unlogged areas are moderately to densely wooded with stands of spruce, balsam (true fir) and pine providing the basis of the logging industry. The area straddles a transition zone between be moist coastal climate a d the dry interior. Elevations on the property range from 1100 metres to 1500 metres with vegetatil cover over most of the surface-bslopes v&y from relatively flat in the valley bottom to steeply wooded on the upper valley side walls. CLAMS & OWNERSHP The Law Group of Mineral Claims consists of 3 claims, as follaws : LAWS' HOME Record No (5) LAWS' HERE Record No (5) The Owner of record of which is Mr. W. K. 8 4 PREVOUS WORK Claims have been held sporadically in the area since about 1900 fieri Charles Law and Associates first staked ground about 24 h south of the present "Law Group". HMA Rice (in G.S.C. Memoir 243) documents work through 1929 on the Camp". n more recent years, the area has been prospected and had some geochemical programmes conducted by the Britco Syndicate in 1969 and subsequently optioned to Copper Range Exploration and Hudson Bay Oil and Gas Ltd. Several percussion holes were drilled at that time, some of which were abandoned in overburden. CURRENT WORK PROGRAMME The' 1981 Drilling Programme consisted of 5 percussion holes, all drilled low on the hillsides and adjacent to Skwum Creek. The drill hole locations are presented on Figure 3 appended to this report. Menit-FdBrothers Drilling Company Limited from Merritt, B.C. was contracted to do the drilling programme, using a Copco percussion drill > and a 'wet' return system. Samples were collected from bedrock cuttings over 10 foot (3.3 rn) intervals. The total return from a 10 foot interval was collected in a large plastic garbage can, treated with a floculating agent and allowed to settle for about 20 minutes before being decanted. A sample of approximately 2.5 kg (5-6 bs) was cut from the sludge and bagged in untreated canvas bags. The sample was then allowed to drip dry. A second sample was cut from the same interval and kept as a cutting reference and "backup sample. All samples collected in this manner were shipped to Chemex Labs Ltd., 212 Brooksbank Avenue, North Vancouver, B.C. where the samples were dried and split. A suitable portion was then pulverized to approximately -100 mesh in readiness for digestion and analysis. All samples collected were analysed for arsenic and gold. Arsenic analyses were performed using a perchloric-nitric acid digestion followed by a standard atomic absorption hydride finish. Gold determinations were done with a fire assay preconcentration and neutron activation analysis. c T

DSCUSSON OF RESULTS AND CONCLUSONS Hole 81-1 results for both arsenic and gold were very low. No significant amounts of either gold or arsenic were detected in Hole DE% Hole 81-3 produced higher but still insignificant amounts of arsenic and gold. Values ranged from 0 ppm to 27 ppm As and from 1 ppb to 15 ppb Au. Hole 81-4 and 81-5 produced results aanging somewhat midway between Hole 1 c 2. Results from both Hole 4 and Hole 5 show insignificant amounts of both gold and arsenic to be present in either hole. may be concluded from the results that gold and arsenic are absent in significant amounts over the area tested by the 1981 percussion drilling programmpe.!
