6 -3- GEOCHEMCAL REPORT ON THE QCSZ CLAM GROUP /Snow #3 & 4 Claims) Queen Charlotte slands, E. C. NTRODUCTON & DESCRPTON The QCSZ Claim Group (32 units), consisting of the Snow #3 (12 units) and Snow #4 (20 units) Claims is located immediately south of the town of Sandspit, Q.C.., as shown on the enclosed ndex and Claims Location Maps (QCSZ-1 & 2). The Snow claims were staked by Mr. R. E. Mickle, a prospector, in February 79 who then proceeded to thoroughly prospect the area and collect some 60 silt and soil samples within Snow #3 G 4 claim boundaries. This resulted in his discovery of a barite vein with nearby minor Pb, Zn, and pyrites mineralization on the Snow #3 claim. The property was then sold in mid 1979 to Wesfrob Mines of Vancouver who then proceeded in September 1979 with additional reconnaissance geochemical sampling and a detailed soil grid over the area of interest, the location of which is shown on the (QCSZ-3) Geology Map (in pocket). GENERAL GEOLOGY The QCSZ Claim Group straddles the prominent Sandspit Fault along which lies the recently discovered Babe gold deposit some 30 miles to the northwest. n the northwest portion of the area a small Tertiary (?) quartz diorite plug intrudes Jurassic Yakoun volcanics which are in contact to the south with conglomorates of the same formation (for regional geology see the BCDM Bulletin #54 by Sutherland-Brown).

7 -4- GEOCHEMCAL SURVEY The original stream sediment and soil samples collected during the prospecti%stage indicated elevated base metal values in the vicinity of the barite occurrence as shown on the Map QCSZ-4, overleaf. The followup work consisted of laying out a 400 m X 600 m 'QCSZ' Soil Grid in the area of interest with lines 50 meters apart and 25 m samples intervals as shown on Map QCSZ-5. n addition, the trail leading from the coastal road was surveyedwith chain and compass for location, and soil sampled at 50 m. intervals for most part as it crosses the Sandspit Fault zone at an acute angle. This detailed survey generated some 175 soil samples on the QCSZ grid and additional 35 samplc-s along the trail. The samples were sent to Bondar - Clegg Lab in North Vancouver, to be dried in gas fired ovens and the -80 mesh fraction retained for multielement analysis in order to determine the best pathfinder elements for gold mineralization in this area. 8 -5- CONCLUSONS Most of the gold values in silt and soil samples are at or below the detection limit of 5 ppb., though a weak anomaly is outlined to the south of the barite occurrence. Copper, lead, silver, and particularly zinc indicate anomalous down-slope dispersion from the baritecontaining outcrops, while cobalt, mercury and arsenic values suggest possible extensions of this weakly mineralized zone into the swamp below. This warrants further investigation.
