6 - The Sylvia No. 1 Group is comprised of the Sylvia Nos mineral claims. The claims are owned by Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas Company Limited, 171 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver, B.C. Exploration work in 1974 consisted of a percussion drill programme under the supervision of G.. Hall. Locati on The property is located at 53'47'N l ati tude, 127OO7 'W l ongi tude, about sixty miles southwest of Houston, B.C. The claims are centred on Glacier Creek about five and one-half miles WSW of where Glacier Creek enters Nadina Lake. Access Access is via sixty miles sf forest access road from Houston, B.C. to Twinkle Lake, then by seven and one-half miles of four-wheel drive road to the test area. Access to the drill sites is provided by approximately nine thousand feet of dry weather roads, Physiography The claims are situated on both sides of and including the valley of Glacier Creek. Overburden depths range from forty feet on the hillsides to over one hundred feet in the valley bottom, Outcrop is scarce and 1 imited to ridge tops. Vegetation is mainly open stands of pine and spruce. not thick anywhere on the property. PERCUSSON DRLLNG PROGRAM: Equipment and Sampling Procedure Undergrowth is Equipmeqt used by L & L Drilling and Exploration Limited consisted of a truck mounted, compressed air percussion drill with a two inch bore. Water was used as a cooling medium during drilling. Drill sites and access roads had been cleared by D-6 bulldozer under rental agreement from Claude Perreaul t of Smi thers, B.C.

9 i 1 Page 5 1! Samples of drill cuttings were collected for each ten foot run by means of a classifier which separated one-eighth of the total cuttings for each ten foot run. The samples were placed in marked plastic bags and allowed to settle until the majority of the fines were no longer visible. The excess water was decanted and a representative sample of the cuttings was obtained for further examination before final packaging was completed for del ivery to the analytical l absratory. Analysis The percussion drill cuttings were analysed by atomic absorption methods at Bondar-Clegg and Company Ltd.'s laboratory and at Vancouver Geochemical Laboratories. Samples were tested for copper, molybdenum, 1 ead, zinc and silver. The sample preparation and analytical procedure is given in Appendix 11. Results and Conclusions Results showing metal values are compiled on forms. (See Appendix 111) Significant copper values were found only in hole S-8 where two hundred feet of.33% copper was found. Accompanying molybdenum and silver values make this an encouraging hole. Holes drilled to the east and west of S-8 however, showed no significant mineral ization. B! 8, D.B. (a) 1. gram or.5 gram of the minus 8-mesh samples was used, Samples were weighed out by using a toploading balance. (b) Samples were heated in a sand bath with nitric and perchloric acids (15% to 85% by volume of the concen-

Method of Analysis Molybdenum analyses were determined by using a Techtron Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer Model AA4 with a molybdenum hollow cathode Lamp. The digested samples were aspirated directly into a nitrous oxide acetylene flame. The results were read out on a Photovolt Varicord Model 43 chart recorder. The molybdenum values, in parts per million, were calculated by comparing a set,of molybdenum standards,

The results, in part8 per million, were calculated by comparing a set of standards to Calibrate the atomic absorption unit. 4.
