4 - 2 - INTRODUCTION General: The Wendy Group consists of 43 contiguous mineral claims and fractions owned by R.J. and W.J. Billingsley of Vancouver, B.C. and held under option by Falaise Lake Mines Ltd., of Vancouver, B. C. The group includes: Wendy 1-28 (incl); Record Nos , I1 Wendy (incl); Allan 2A, 2B, 4, 6, & 8; I II Copper 1-4 (incl); , Copper 7; During May of 1972 a work program consisting of bulldozer trenching, line cutting and geological mapping was initiated by the company. This was followed up during-july of 1972 by a geochemical soil sampling program which is the basis for this report. Location & Access: The Wendy Group is located on NTS Map (E) about two miles west of the Village of Logan Lake in the valley of Guichon Creek and the hills west of it. Most of the claims are south of the Highland Valley road although a few (the Allan Claim and fractions) lie north of it CONSULTING GEOLOGIST

5 - 3 - All but the extreme southern claims are readily accessible from the Highland Valley road, the Savona-Mammit Lake road, or sev- eral bush roads intersecting them. The most convenient is the one leading south from the Highland Valley road about % mile west of the four corner intersection. Physiography : The property lies at an elevation of between 3,500 and 4,000 feet on the plateau between the Thompson and Nicola Rivers. Topography is generally hilly except in the northern and extreme eastern parts of the claims which are in the valleys of Witches Brook and Guichon Creek. These areas are largely fields or open pine forests. Further west the terrain is rougher with several steep walled canyons and much denser bush. Precipitation in the area is light with drainage being to the east into Guichon Creek via several intermittent streams and one in the southern part of the property which may run contin- ually. There are a number of small swampy lakes or ponds both on and near the claim which, along with this stream, could provide water for drilling should it be required. The area has been glaciated and the central part of the grid area is underlain primarily by deposits of glacial material E. 0. CHISHOLM. M.A.. P.ENG. CONSULTING GIOLOOll3T

6 -4 - which could be quite deep. In the east these give) way to terraces forming the west slope of the Guichon Creek Valley. The western part of the claim group, however, contains consid- erable outcrop and areas of comparatively shallow overburden. His tory: The Wendy Group is located at the eastern end of the Highland Valley, an area which has been active since the late 1800's and, presently contains two producing copper mines. Several other properties are in the advanced preproduction stage and a considerable number are receiving attention of one type or another. Until recently, the only inhabitants of the area were ranchers but within the last two years, the village of Logan Lake has been constructed just two miles from the claim group. It is intended as a townsite for the Lornex Mine but is also a convenient supply center for work going on else- where in the area. Geological Statements: The Wendy Claim lies within a broad belt of Mesozoic rocks which extend from below the Canada-U,S. border south of the town of Princeton northwesterly into central B,C. The belt is made up primarily of triassic volcanic rocks (the Nicola Group in this area) and granitic intrusive rocks of Jurassic and E. 0. CHISHOLM. M.A.. P.ENG. CONSULTINO OCOLOGIST

7 - 5 - Cretaceous age. The most important mineral found in this area is copper, although molybdenum, lead, zinc, silver, mercury and gold have also been produced in varying quantities. The area under discussion is considered to be favourable ground for copper and possibly molybdenum. Outcrop on the Wendy group is absent in the northern and east- ern parts of the property but becomes abundant in the higher ground to the west and southwest. It consists of two main rock types, an older metamorphic unit and the Mesozoic gran- itic rocks of the Guichon batholith. The contact between the two passes from the extreme northwestern part of the property southerly to about line O+OO where it turns southeast extend- ing beyond that corner of the claim group toward the Valley of Guichon Creek. The metamorphic rocks lie east of the contact and consist of hornfels, hornfelsic schists and granitic genisses which tend to have a rough northerly foliation of variable dip. The gran- itic rocks to the west consist of fine to medium grained dio- rite and coarse grained grey granite. These host the only mineralization observed on the property which consists of chalcopyrite in small veinlets and joint planes or disseminated over restricted areas. 8 - 6 - GEOCHEMISTRY General Statement: During July, 1972 a soil sampling program was carried out over the southwestern part of the Wendy grid. A total of 300 sam- ples of "B" horizon material were taken using a mattock as a sampling tool. These were placed in paper sample bags, marked with grid coordinates, then sent to Vancouver Geochemical Lab- oratories Ltd., of North Vancouver, B.C. for analysis. Copper and molybdenum were tested for in the -80 mesh fraction using hot ~C104 and HNO3 extraction and atomic adsorption spectro- photometer detection methods. Results quoted in parts per million were plotted at a scale of 400 feet to the inch on the accompanying maps. Observations & Conclusions : Background values for copper were found to be below about 50 PPM and for molybdenum below 4 PPM. Correlation between high- er values in both metals was good although no high Mo values were obtained. Copper values in excess of 60 PPM are distinct- ly anomalous and have been contoured although the 800 foot line spacing casts some doubt as to the validity of some of the contours particularly in the extreme southwest corner of the map area. 9 - 7 - Three small areas of anomalously high copper values occur in the surveyed part of the Wendy Claims. The largest of these is centred at about 16N, 32W in an area underlain by hybrid and metamorphic rocks near the contact with the granitic rocks of the Guichon Batholith. No occurrences of copper are known in the area which is on a moderate but irregular east slope. In the southwestern part of the claim group on claims 21 to 24 is another anomalous area detected on two lines 1200 feet apart. Values as high as 300 PPM were observed but over nar- row widths (approximately 200 feet). Topography here is irr- egular but with low relief and no showings are known. At 24S, 24 and 25W, just south of the creek are two high Cu values attributable to mineralization in the Local granite which contains narrow stringers of pyrite and chalcopyrite. Recommendations: Although none of the areas are particularly large all are considered to warrant follow-up work as factors such as topography and overburden may be acting to limit their size. The areas on lines 8N and 16N and in the southwest part of the property are tentatively considered the more important. These areas should be carefully prospected and, particularly in the E. 0. 10 -8- case of the southwest anomaly, soil sampled in more detail, A closer spaced grid should be put in and about 300 additional samples collected.
