3 SUMMARY In August 1983, Lacana Mining Corporation negotiated an option to explore the Olympic-Kelvin gold prospect east of Goldbridge, b.c. Work since then has consisted of linecutting, Soil and rock sampling, proepecting and base map preparation. A major programme of t.renching, rehabilitation and sampling of underground workings, additional surface geochemistry and diamond drilling as warranted is planned to commence in mid April COIJCLUS IONS Preliminary work on the Olympic-Kelvin property indicates there zones of precious metal potential: - Kelvin adit area - Magee shear zone - Billy-0 massive sulphide environment - 1 -

4 RECOMMENDATIONS 1. The Magee adit should be opened, drained, mapped and sampled. 2. The Kelvin, workings should be resampled to substantiate assay values reported in The :Billy0 massive sulphide environment should be prospected geochemically to detect a.-footwall gold zonegold zones within massive sulphide systems have recently been recognized at Windy Craggy, Chu-Chua, Rea Gold eta. Tightly spaced soil sampling followed by cat-backhoe trenching is recommended. INTRODUCTION LOCATION AND ACCESS The claims are located on the south shore of Carpenter Lake, 10 km east of Goldbridge. The main Grayrock logging road crosses the property. The property extends south from lake level (650 m) up steep rocky slopes to about 1700 m. 8 HISTORY The area of the present claims covers ground originally staked about 1933 and operated by two separate companies, Kelvin Gold Mines Ltd, and Olympic Gold Mines Ltd., mainly in 1933 and The history of each is described briefly... OLYMPIC: 2 ' In 1934 work began on two adits, the Leckie at river level and the Magee, 200 feet above river level. The main camp, was situated near the "number 1 vein", about 1,200 ft. above river-level. An adit on the massive sulphide zone ("Billyo") has been discontinued. In 1935, total footage completed on the Leckie adit was 470 feet and on the Magee; 280 feet. No further work -was done from 1936 to In 1945, G.S. Eldridge, president of Olympic Gold Mines directed a programme of diamond drilling; 4 holes from the surface and 5 holes from within the Leckie adit. A short crosscut and shaft were commenced from the same tunnel and completed in KELVIN : The Kelvin claims, originally staked in 1933 and 1934 by John Hagmo and Ivar Aston were explored originally by the Mintonia syndicate and then by Kelvin Gold Mines Ltd. The Bridge adit, elev. 2,215' and Pat Fraction adit, elev. 2,300' are the main workings, with a 32 foot adit at elevation 2,475 feet. Work was suspended on the property in 1936, due to "depletion of the treasury"

9 1983 WORK PROGRAMME LINECUTTING The Magee shear zone was selected as the starting point for exploration on the property. A baseline was started on the bank just above the caved portal, was cut for 1 km on a bearing of 160". Steep slopes, generally more than 35' slowed progress, and required use of a clinometer for distance correction. Purpose of the cut baseline was to provide topographic control for subsequent mapping and sampling, and to afford easier access to the upper portions of the property. GEOCHEMISTRY Sampling of the Magee shear zone had indicated high arsenic content in addition to elevated gold values. For this reason, soil geochemistry, with analyses for Au and As was.selected as the most effective means of tracing the Magee shear. Compass lines were run at 110 m spacing, with sample stations established at 100 m spacing. This was later ' tightened to 50 m separation. Two serious hindrances to collection of proper 'B' horizons soil samples were immediately apparent. Volcanic ash occurs extensively throughout the Bridge River area, usually immediately below the recent 'A' humus material, and can be up to 1 meter thick. After digging through this ash layer, samplers very often found talus material rather than clean 'B' horizon, especially in more precipitous areas. At several sites, collecting of proper 'B' sample was not practical. Sampling was discontinued before the entire gird area has been covered. It is not recommended that spil geochemistry be continued on a property wide basis. It can however, be used selectively in areas of gentler relief, where the 'B' horizon is less likely to be talus contaminated. A programme of soil geochemistry is in fact recommended on a tight 25 m x 25 m sample interval, to test the massive sulphide environment for possible gold content

10 The sampling programme yielded 217 samples, which were analyzed by ACME Analytical Laboratories of Vancouver, using standard acid leach, AA detection techniques. As shown on fig. 4, both gold and arsenic values vary widely Gold values range from 5ppb to a high of 913 ppb. Arsenic ranges from a low of 3 ppm (detection limit) to a high.. of 2488 ppm. One main zone of coincident Au-As high occurs in line '0' 'S, between 5 W and 6+50W. This is just up slope of the main Kelvin adit and is believed to represent the surface trace of the Kelvin shear zone. The 150 m width of the anomaly is probably the result of dispersion in talus. Other high samples are generally single spot highs, often with no gold-arsenic correlation, scattered erratically throughtout the grid area. Detailed prospecting will be required to explain this., BASE!IAP PREPARATION Pacific Survey Corporation was contacted to supply an enlargement, at approximate scale 1:5,000 of air photo. In combination with our cut baseline, this photo provides topographic control valuable for future mapping-sampling programmes. Figure 3 is a compilation map showing access roads, claim boundaries, old workings etc and our 1983 sample grid
