2 'Alto Gardnar' gold prospect in Dryden area. o 07 R f } /v '' ' * * Location The ground is located in McFie Township, 800 metres north of McFie Lake, 48 km east of Dryden in the Kenora Mining Division. Access: From Dryden the property can be accessed via Hwy 17 east to Dinorwic and then north on Hwy 72 towards Sioux Lookout for 14 km. Past Hartman Lake, a gravel road runs east and traverses McFie Twp. in an easterly direction. About 5 km east a logging trail leads northeast towards the property. As of now, an ATV can get within 700 metres of the showing. Access for bringing in equipment is good as the old road runs through the claim. The last 3 km of this road have to be upgraded for vehicle traffic. Only one culvert needs to be replaced and the road can probably be put back in shape for under S6,000. Claims Claim # is held on a 50/50 basis by Alex Glatz and Joseph Riives of Dryden Geology The area is underlain by basalts and other volcanic rocks. Fine grained gabbro occurs east of the claim. Mineral showing The gold showing occupies the centre of claim and has a northeasterly trend. It has been trenched and pitted over a distance of 200 metres mid the 6 metres wide zone of intense shearing and veining can be traced for more than 350 metres. Previous work hi 1 937, J. W. Alto and W. Gardnar found gold in a large quartz vein. Extensive stripping, trenching and sampling were carried out by the Sandybeach Lake Syndicate over the following years. A 125 ton bulk sample returned an assay of ounces per ton gold. Only two drill holes (according to the old reports) have undercut the main showing and indicated that the main vein/zone is 60 feet wide with no assays being mentioned. In the 1 980's the ground was acquired by Loydex Resources and was then included in a regional exploration package of over 200 claims by a company from Calgary. They did cut a 5 mile long grid on which soil sampling and geophysics were done. But they could not raise the money for the proposed drill program. This company lost the claims to Champion Bear Resources when they could not make the option payments to the vendor. It is not known if Champion Bear (who also worked on a regional scale) did any actual work on this showing. Current Work In June of 2002 the present claim holders collected a composite sample of sheared wall rock over a distance of 1 50 metres along the main zone. It returned an assay of ppb

3 gold. This was done to find out if gold occurs away from the quartz too. No loose quartz was sampled as it would be misleading because the best surface quartz was included in the bulk sample. In October 6 samples were taken from gabbroic rock to test gold and platinum. Early reports mention high grade gold and platinum occurrences. If this was the case then the local gabbro would probably show elevated platinum values. Conclusions and recommendations There is no doubt that gold occurs within this intensive shear zone. The surface of the zone has been adequately exposed. Surface sampling would just duplicate old work. A more realistic approach may be to expand the existing 7 metres deep opencut and follow the mineralized zone to obtain a large bulk sample or mining the zone on a small scale. Chilling is definitely desired to prove that the zone widens out to 18 metres as was reported from the two holes drilled in the 1940's.
