3 INTRODUCTION Claim was staked to cover the extension of the horizon hosting the Limerick nickel-copper deposit some 4 kilometres to the north northeast. It is situated along the Hastings Colonial Road as ast Hastings Road lots 12 and 13 in Limerick Township. The Hastings Road traverses the western third of the two claim block in a north-south direction and the western boundary is the Limerick-Wollaston township boundary. Numerous old farm and ATV trails cross the property because it is actively used for hunting by the local landowners. Lot 11 to the south was an old farm and part of the community of Thanet. This farm and one across the road to the west is all that remains of this farming community; neither farm is active and are used as seasonal camps(igure 1). Nicholson Creek traverses the southeast corner of the property in a west southwest direction. rom there the land rises to the northwest. West of the Hastings Road and along the north boundary the land reaches an elevation about 30 metres above that of the creek. The Hastings Road follows a topographic low east of a major hill and continues north in a small valley. The present program consisted of line cutting in the early spring of 2004 followed bygeological mapping in late August. Management was by the writer out of the company field office on the Limerick Lake Road. GOLOGICAL MAPPING (igure 2) Mapping was conduction on a 100 metre spaced grid running at 150 degrees from a base line along the northern claim line at 070 degrees. Line 9+00 east is approximately the east claim line and the west claim line is 0+50W (-0+50). or the most part the low ground is underlain by grey bedded quartzites with minor calcareous layers; Nicholson Creek follows tlie trend of these rocks. The northwest and higher part of the property is underlain by the Thanet Complex which is descnbed as an ultramafic intrusion by Lumbers It has associated mafic volcanic rocks of the Turrif Group. The northwestern third of the property is underlain by a medium-grained gabbro consisting of 3 to 4 millimetre pyroxene crystals set in a pale grey to white feldspathic matrix. Pyroxene varies from 25 to 70 percent of the rock and along the base line composes almost 100 percent of the rock. Its contact with the sedimentary rocks to the southeast is marked by a fine-grained a black rock of similar composition which is best descnbed as basalt. Sedimentary rocks of quartzitic composition underlie the remainder of the property. They are pale grey in colour and have l millimetre quartz grains. A band of darker grey quartzite follows the contact with the gabbro. This rock consists of quartz grains in a black hornbendite matrix. Since the grade of metamorphism is amphibolite, Continued..

6 this matrix was likely dusty material derived from extrusive phase of the complex. Numerous attitudes were taken of bedding; they show that the sedimentary rocks were deposited parallel to the gabbro contact and dip underneath it. rom the transitional evidence along the contact, the contact appears to be overturned. Pyrite was observed in the sediments adjacent to the contact on Line. It was the only mineralization observed. CONCLUSIONS The property covers the southwest continuation of the rocks and the contact between the Thanet Complex and Van Sickle clastic sedimentary rocks that host the Limerick nickelcopper mineralization. It is interpreted that the conformability of the sedimentary rocks with the gabbro contact shows that the Thanet Complex was exposed to surface at the time of the sedimentary deposition. Disseminated pyrite mineralization in the sedimentary rocks in proximity to contact indicates that mineralizing system extends this far southwest. uture surveys should concentrate on assessing the economic potential of this contact and associated rocks.
