3 Silica Sampling Survey A O O *f Claim Curtin Township ^ ' C *O J. 1.0 IDENTIFICATION OF MINING LA WHICH SURVEY WAS PERFORMED The silica sampling survey was performed on a 4- unit claim block with claim # situated in the south central section of Curtin Township in the District of Sudbury. The claim is denoted on Mining Map G-3005, Curtin Township, in the Sudbury Mining District. It should be noted that an adjacent 2-unit claim block with claim # is contiguous to the east, and is also held by William Day Construction Limited, Sudbury, Ontario. A key plan of site location is presented in Appendix " A ". 2.0 NAME(S), ADDRESSES(S), OF THE HOLDERS OF THE CLAIM The holder of claim # is: William Day Construction Limited 2500 Elm Street P.O. Box 700 Copper Cliff, Ontario POM l NO Contact: Mr. Darren Day PH: LOCATION A MEANS OF ACCESS Claim # is situated in the District of Sudbury in the south central section of Curtin Township. The west boundary of the claim block is a common boundary with Whitefish Indian Reserve # 4. The center of the claim block has the following UTM coordinates (NAD 27 datum): E, and N. Access to the site is from Hwy 6 at Whitefish Falls through an existing public access road, which extends to Iroquois Bay. The southern boundary of the claim block is situated just south of the access road. Technologist, and Manon Giroux, Environmental Technologist at the Sudbury office of DST Consulting Engineers Inc. conducted the silica sampling survey. 6.0 DATE ON WHICH SURVEY WAS PERFORMED The sampling program was performed on October 14, DESCRIPTION OF GEOLOGY The region is underlain mainly by metamorphosed, clastic sedimentary rocks of the Huronian Supergroup, which were deposited between 2,150 million years and 2,500 million years ago (Van Schmus 1965). Sandstones of the Lorrain Formation underlie the southern parts of Mongowin and Curtin Townships including the area of the subject claim. The Lorrain Formation is approximately l,700 to l,800 m thick and consists of six lithostratigraphic members. These are, from oldest to youngest: MEMBER Grey sandstone Pink sandstone Green sandstone Ferruginous Sandstone White Sandstone Cherty Sandstone THICKNESS 46 to 90 m 76 to 200 m 503 to 900 m 200m 200 to 790 m 200 to 300 m LITHOLOGY Grey micaceous sandstone with minor interbedded argillite at the base and pink feldspathic sandstone at the top. Pink feldspathic sandstone Green micaceous sandstone with very minor oligomictic quartz pebble conglomerate Buff hematitic sandstone with alumina-silicate minerals and minor quartz jasperoid conglomerate White sandstone with aluminosilicate minerals and minor quartz pebble conglomerate. White red and fine grained sandstone

5 Silica Sampling Survey Claim Curtin Township Contacts between the various units are gradational and somewhat subjective. For example, the ferruginous sandstones are identical to the white sandstones except for minor amounts of hematitic staining in the grains. The distinction between the white sandstone member and the cherty member is very subtle, and further complicated by a general increase in grain size of the cherty sandstones. The sandstones (orthoquartzites and protoquartzites) of the Lorrain Formation present at the subject site are generally fine to medium grained, hard, flinty, and white. The rock occurs in beds up to 0.5 meters thick, strikes North 75 degrees to 80 degrees East, and dips steeply to the south. Faint cross bedding is discernible in places in the recrystallized quartzite. The rock has strong blocky jointing with fractures at right angles. Major structural features in the study area include: the east - west trending Cloche Fault situated immediately north of the claim block and south of Cranberry Bay; an unnamed fault trending northwest from the north shore of Iroquois Bay and cutting along the southwest corner of the claim block; and at least two northwest -southeast trending amphibolite dikes (up to 15m) cut the study area. 8.0 SUMMARY OF EXPLORATION A DEVELOPMENT WORK PERFORMED ON CLAIMS The following was performed on the subject claim: - Review and research of geological reports and maps; - Traverse pace and compass survey of the claim units for the purpose of collecting bedrock samples for laboratory analysis ( 7o silica); - Samples were collected at 100 meter stations (where there was bedrock exposure) from two north - south traverse lines run by pace and compass. Each traverse sample line originated from the mid point (as determined by pace and compass) of the two northern claim units. Collected samples were bagged and labeled for subsequent submission for laboratory analysis; - Site sketches and information collected was submitted to DST's CAD supervisor for the production of draft site plans for the purpose of obtaining an aggregate permit for the client; - A Natural Environment Level l study was also conducted by DST per the requirements of the Aggregate Resources Act; and

6 Silica Sampling Survey 4 Claim Curtin Township m A total of ten (10) collected samples were submitted to the Geosciences Laboratory at the Willet Green Miller Centre in Sudbury, Ontario for parameter analysis of oxides using x-ray diffraction methodologies. 9.0 SUMMARY TABLE OF ANALYTICAL RESULTS A summary of the analytical results from collected rock samples appears in Appendix " C " CERTIFICATE OF ANALYSIS A certificate of analysis for laboratory work is presented in Appendix " D " DISCUSSION A RECOMMEATIONS With respect to the analytical results for the collected sandstone rock samples submitted for SiO2 analysis, one trend clearly emerges. That is that those samples yielding the highest silica values are from the claim units representing the northern half of the claim block. Silica concentrations appear to diminish north to south suggesting a gradational regression within the Lorrain Formation with respect to SiO2 content. The higher alumina content down dip may also be indicative of feldspar replacing quartz in the lower member units within the formation. This is also consistent with geological information obtained from referenced sources. The silica sampling survey carried out was preliminary in nature and served to provide a rough base line of silica concentrations in the sandstone rock types within the claim block. A more detailed mapping and sampling program is being proposed, particularly within the northern claim units.
