3 INTRODUCTION A program of mechanical stripping and mapping was performed on claim , Galway Township, Southern Ontario Mining Division. The following report covers this work. PROPERTY LOCATION AND ACCESS The property is located approximately 10 kilometres north of Bobcaygeon, ON. and covers all of Lot 2, Concession 2, Galway Township. The property is accessed by travelling northerly from Bobcaygeon along the Galway- Somerville Township boundary and then taking the concession road easterly between concessions 2 and 3, Galway Township. The property is located approximately 1.5 kilometres east along the concession boundary. PROPERTY The property consists of one Sunit claim numbered covering Lot 2, Concession 2, Galway Township. The property is owned by: Mr. Mervin John Johnston R.R. #2 Minden, ON., KOM 2KO PREVIOUS WORK No previous work for mining is known to have been performed on the property. Assessment work from an adjoining claim to the north was previously transferred to this claim. -l-

6 GENERAL GEOLOGY The property is underlain by older units of Grenville Age meta-sediments that have been intruded by Late Precambrian granitic rocks composed of hornblende granite and biotite granite. These units have been overlain by flat lying Paleozoic-Middle Ordivician Limestone of the Gull River Formation. Partial erosion of the limestone have left remnant outliers in the area. The property is entirely underlain by limestone PROGRAM Mechanical Stripping The mechanical stripping portion of the program took place during November This consisted of 4 days of skidder clearing and chainsawing of the trees followed by 23.5 hours of stripping by the use of an excavator. The skidder used was a Timber Jack 230A. The excavator used was a Link Belt The excavator exposed the bedrock in several locations. Mapping One day was spent mapping the stripped area. A grid was established by running an east-west line through the central section of the stripped area and lines at right angles were located every 20 metres. The line were extended to the edge of the stripped area. Stations were established every 10 metres along the crosslines by the use of a hip chain. The stripping exposed the flat lying limestone of the Gull River Formation. Large blocks of limestone are scattered across the property. The limestone weathers a white but fresh exposures are a light grey to grey-brown colour. Some exposed layers have a rough, wavy surface. Cherty nodules were noted in places. Layers vary from 3-5 centimetres to 30 to 40 centimetres thick. Some layers contain abundant fossils. A two to three metre deep valley approximately 30 metres wide extends across the -2-

7 property in a northeasterly direction. The northwest side is steeper than the southeast side. An area located at 0+1 OS, 0+30E was excavated along the northwest edge of this valley. Several blocks were removed from the face and placed along the top. The face exposes several layers of limestone to 40 cms. thick. CONCLUSION The mechanical stripping program carried out on the property has exposed a large area of limestone. This exposure appears similar in size and colour to that in the claim to the north where a small quarry is being operated. This site produces blocks and patio stone. A much larger area than that so far exposed is available for a quarry on the rest of the claim. RECOMMENDATIONS It is recommended that the property be brought to lease and that the limestone resource be developed. -3-
