3 INTRODUCTION. During the Fall of 216, undertook induced polarization surveying over the Dem property for Charles Greig and Alexander Walcott. A single 2.3-kilometer line of deep penetrating IP was undertaken proximal to an area where historic geochemistry yielded anonymous values. An airborne magnetic survey was subsequently undertaken in the following spring, to provide high resolution mag coverage over the survey area. This survey consisted of 87 line kilometers of airborne magnetics flown with a nominal line spacing of 1 meters on east-west orientated lines, and with north-south tie lines spaced with a nominal line spacing of 5 meters.

4 PROPERTY LOCATION, CLAIMS AND ACCESS The Dem property is located some 4 kilometers north northwest of the community of Fort St. James, British Columbia The property is comprised of four claim blocks with an area totaling 859 Ha and is owned 5% by Charles Greig and 5% by Alexander Walcott. 10 8 PREVIOUS WORK. The Dem property has seen several exploration campaigns over the past 25 years since it was discovered by the BCGS in 199 by a regional mapping program. The property was subsequently acquired by Noranda Exploration Company Ltd. which in 1995, conducted a field mapping and soil sampling program over their claim blocks. Despite encouraging results, no additional work was recorded after the initial report. The property was subsequently explored by Uwe Schmidt, who conducted a small prospecting program in 25, along with a reconnaissance line of induced polarization surveying conducted by Xstrata Copper in 211. The property was subsequently dropped. For further information the reader is referred to the Government of British Columbia Aris website.

9 GEOLOGY. The Dem property is located within the prolific Quesnellia Terrane. This terrane hosts several of British Columbia s copper-gold porphyry deposits. The property is underlain by Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic Takla group sedimentary and volcanic rocks. The Dem showing is hosted in metasomatically altered sediments of the Inzana Lake Formation. Well laminated sandstones and siltstones are intruded and altered by syenomonzonite dikes. Original concordant bedding strikes 144 degrees and dips 7 degrees north. Areally, extensive alteration in the sediments ranges from local massive epidote-tremolite skarning to biotite-diopside hornfelsing. 1 For a detailed overview the author would refer the reader to the various assessment reports which contain detailed descriptions of the property geology. 1 Ministy of Mines, Minfile No. 39K 77

11 PURPOSE. The purpose of the induced polarization survey was expanding on the previous work conducted by Xstrata Copper which identified several chargeability anomalies proximal to anomalous geochemistry values identified by Noranda Exploration s 199 work. A subsequent heliborne magnetic survey was designed to collected high resolution magnetic data to identify structural features along with provided a suitable data set to facilitate 3D magnetic susceptibility modelling.

12 SURVEY SPECIFICATIONS. The Induced Polarization Survey. The induced polarization (IP) survey was conducted using a pulse type system, the principal components of which were manufactured by Instrumentation GDD of Quebec, Canada. The system consists basically of three units, a receiver (GDD), transmitter (GDD) and a motor generator (Honda). The transmitter, which provides a maximum of 8.5 kw d.c. to the ground, obtains its power from a 7.5 kw 6 c.p.s. alternator driven by a Honda 14 h.p. gasoline engine. The cycling rate of the transmitter is 2 seconds current-on and 2 seconds current-off with the pulses reversing continuously in polarity. The data recorded in the field consists of careful measurements of the current (I) in amperes flowing through the current electrodes C1 and C2, the primary voltages (V) appearing between any two potential electrodes, P1 through P5, during the current-on part of the cycle, and the apparent chargeability, (Ma) presented as a direct readout in millivolts per volt. The apparent resistivity ( a) in ohm metres is proportional to the ratio of the primary voltage and the measured current, the proportionality factor depending on the geometry of the array used. The chargeability and resistivity are called apparent as they are values which that portion of the earth sampled would have if it were homogeneous. As the earth sampled is usually inhomogeneous the calculated apparent chargeability and resistivity are functions of the actual chargeability and resistivity of the rocks. The surveying was carried out using the pole-dipole / dipole-pole method of survey. With the pre-laid receiver array remaining stationary, the current C1 is moved along the survey lines at a spacing of a (the dipole) apart, while the second current electrode, C2, is kept constant at infinity. As the current (C1) is injected between the respective potential electrodes, and the receiving array is stationary, both pole-dipole and dipole-pole geometries can be measured with the maximum n -separation, a function of the length of the receiver array, which on this survey was n = 2, depending on the injection placement. The distance, na between C1 and the nearest potential electrode generally controls the depth to be explored by the particular separation, n, traverse.

13 SURVEY SPECIFICATIONS cont d. On this survey a total of some 2.5 kilometres of induced polarization survey traverses on a single line was completed. Horizontal control. The horizontal positions of the stations were recorded using a Garmin GPSmap 6CSx. The Airborne Magnetic Survey. The airborne magnetic survey was conducted using a bird type system towed on a 65 line by a Bell 26 Jet Ranger III operated by Fireweed Helicopters of Whitehorse, Yukon. The bird unit consists of three main components C-824 Cesium Magnetometer manufactured by Geometrics San Jose, California, AR3 Laser Range Finder manufactured by Acuity of Portland, Oregon and a 19x GPS manufactured by Garmin International Inc. of Kansas City, Kansas. The C-824 Cesium Magnetometer is a highly sensitive magnetic sensor capable of providing sensitivity up to.1 nt and sampling rates up to 1 Hz. On this survey a sampling rate of 1 Hz was employed. The respective components were in turn connected to the helicopter via a shielded multiconductor cable within the tow line for power and data transmission to the logging units on the helicopter. Flight line navigation data was obtained using Hemisphere R33 GNSS receiver with a 1 Hz update rate.

14 SURVEY SPECIFICATIONS cont d. Data logging and navigation were carried out utilizing Geometrics MagLogPro software on a Panasonic CF-19 Toughbook computer with a secondary 7 daylight viewable pilot navigation monitor. In addition to the airborne unit the survey also utilized two GSM 19 Overhauser magnetometer manufactured by GEM Instruments of Richmond Hill, Ontario as base magnetometers. These instruments measure variations in the total intensity of the earth s magnetic field to an accuracy of plus or minus one nanotesla.

15 SURVEY SPECIFICATIONS cont d The survey coverage consisted of some 21 east-west orientated flight lines and 7 orthogonal tie lines. The survey was carried out with a mean bird height of some 52 meters. Survey Area # of Lines # of Tie Lines Total Distance Dem km Flight Lines draped in Google Earth

16 DATA PROCESSING AND PRESENTATION. Induced Polarization. The historic pseudo-section data was obtained from the respective Aris report and digitized into a format compatible with Oasis Montaj. Both historic and the newly obtained induced polarization data are presented as individual pseudo section plots of apparent resistivity and apparent chargeability at a scale of 1:1, generated using Geosoft Oasis Montaj. Both dataset were also inverted using Geoelectrical s RES2DINV software and presented as individual plots of modelled resistivity and modelled chargeability at a scale of 1:1, generated using Geosoft Oasis Montaj Airborne Magnetic Survey. The data was first exported from MagLogPro, where the various sensor inputs were merged into Geosoft compatible ascii files. This merged dataset was then loaded into Geosoft Oasis Montaj for data reduction and processing. The data was first corrected for diurnal magnetic drift, utilizing the magnetic base stations. The data was then lag corrected to account for positioning errors due to instrument delay and other positional errors. Tie line levelling was then undertaken prior to gridding. Gridding was then undertaken on the levelled line data utilizing Geosoft s Rangrid algorithm using a 12.5 meter cell size. The reduced and leveled data set was then subject to several filtering techniques using the Geosoft MagMap module for evaluation and presentation. The magnetic data for each of the respective blocks presented in this report is Contours of Total Magnetic Intensity, and Contours Calculated First Vertical Derivative.

17 DISCUSSION OF RESULTS. The results of the historic compilation and 216/217 geophysics surveys show several features of interest. Regionally the Dem claims covers a large plug like magnetic body some 4 square kilometers in size. This feature is bisected by several northwesterly trending structures. This trend is also somewhat apparent in the regional radiometric survey which additionally shows a zone of slightly reduced eth-k coincident the most intense part of the magnetic high situated in the eastern extents of the anomaly. The detailed airborne magnetics carried out in early 217 shows a large donut like shape magnetic anomaly with an intense magnetic low in the northeasterly quadrant likely attributed to a dipole effect. Within this large body, several discrete magnetic highs are readily seen which appear to be crosscut, by a series of north and northwesterly structures. Airborne Magnetic Survey Contours of Total Field Intensity (nt)

18 DISCUSSION OF RESULTS cont d. Several of these magnetic features appear to be coincident with historic north-south trending soil geochemistry anomalies proximal to the DEM showing. Prior to the detailed airborne magnetic survey two large a-spaced induced polarization surveys had been completed. Line 4 was completed by Xstrata Copper 211, as part of their Hat Super Block project. This northwesterly orientated line bisected the most intense part of the magnetic anomaly, along with the main north-south trending historic gold/copper soil anomaly. The raw pseudo section data was subsequently digitized and inverted using Res2DInv. Several anomalous features are readily observed within the inverted dataset and show correlation with the newly completed line of induced polarization. 3D View of 2D Inverted Chargeability With 3D Magnetic Susceptibility Model

19 DISCUSSION OF RESULTS cont d. Subsequently a second line - Line 2 N - of deep sensing induced polarization survey was carried out some 4 meters to the northeast in the fall of 216 by Alexander Walcott and Charles Greig as part of a work program. The 25-meter-long, identified two large chargeability anomalies. Anomaly cha, is situated in the western portion of the survey line. This chargeability anomaly is associated with a zone of low resistivity. This anomaly is potentially several discrete anomalies. The anomaly appears to be flanking the northeasterly edge of the magnetic body, as illustrated above. This anomaly appears to be broader than that observed the historic IP line some 4 meters to the south, and it potentially due to an edge effect. 3D View of 2D Inverted Chargeability With 3D Magnetic Susceptibility Model -Looking Down and NE

2 DISCUSSION OF RESULTS cont d. Anomaly chb is centered at 145E. This deeper anomaly lies beneath a semi flat lying resistivity zone of elevated resistivity associated with low chargeability. This feature is also observed on line 4 to the south, albeit not as defined. 2D Inverted Resistivity/Chargeability Line 2 N

21 SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS. Between September 23rd and 26 th, 217, undertook induced polarization surveying over parts of the DEM property, located in the Ft. St. James area of British Columbia for Charles Greig and Alexander Walcott. A subsequent airborne magnetic survey was carried out in the in May of 217. A single 2.3 kilometers line of deep sensing induced polarization was carried out on a northwesterly orientated line, some 4 meters to the north west of a historic induced polarization line which identified several anomalies proximal to anomalous geochemical results. The subsequent airborne magnetic survey was carries out on east east-west oriented flight lines with a nominal spacing of some 1 meters. Both surveys identified several features of interest and potential for a large buried porphyry system. A systematic detailed induced polarization survey should be carried out over the extents of the magnetic feature. A soil/till sampling program should also be evaluated, using MMI or other trace element methods extending the existing soil grid coverage. Respectfully submitted, PETER E. WALCOTT & ASSOCIATES LTD.
