3 A, INTRODUCTION The Timberline 4 and 5 mineral claims are situated in the northern part of the Cascade Range and cover a series of narrow paralleling quartz-fissure veins, hosting anomalous gold. The claims are underlain by granites, cherty sediments, and contact-skarn hornfels sediments, Immediately east and adjacent to the property is a serpentine fault zone which forms the northea extension of the Master Ace zone, and hosts gold-copper mineralization, The claims were briefly examined by the writer at the end of August, Reconnaissance prospecting was conducted along the granite-sedimentary contact;and,brief geological notes were made of the various rocktypes, The reconnaissance work is herein documented in report form and submitted for assessment work credits,

4 B, CLAIMS INFORMATION The Timberline 4.5 make up the Timberline Group which consists of 8 contiguous units, The claims are located within the New Westminster Mining Division. The pertinent data is as followsr Claim Name Units Record No. Expiry Date Timberline Aug. 28 C, LOCATION AND ACCESS The property is located some 19 km, due east of the town of Hope, B.C., at the headwaters of Matthew creek, a tribu- tary of Sowaqua Creek, Presently, the property can only be reached by helicopter, some 20 min, flying time from Hope, The Hope-Princeton Highway (Hwy #3) is about 8.0 km, due south of the claims, D.PHYSIOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE The claims are situated in the northern Cascade Mountains of southwestern British Columbia and cover rugged alpine, glaciated peaks and precipice valleys, The topographic relief varies between 1,067 m, (3,500 ft,) and 2,439 m, (8,000 ft). 5 -3- Do PHYSIOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE Cont'd summer seasons and in the alpine regions is conducive to surface exploration for 2-3 months during snow free condi- tions. E. BACKGROUND AND HISTORY The Timberline claims were staked in Aug., 1984 follow- ing the rescinding of Order-in-Council (O.I.C.) # 994 (O.I.C. # 994 prohibited staking and exploration) by the B.C. Provin- cia1 Government; thereby, opening the area to staking and -4 mining activity. In the early 1920@s, E.C. Rice and associates of Coal- mont, B.C. discovered gold on the Master Ace claims. These claims are located immediately south and adjacent to the Timberline property. During this period, several trenches, pits and short adits were established along the Master Ace zone,in which, several mineralized structures were uncovered carrying up to $16.00 per ton gold. Several quartz-fissure veins, were also uncovered during this time near the north boundary of the Timberlines where picked samples assayed as high as $14.00 in gold per ton. In the Spring of 1984 following the cancellation of the O.I.C., Placer Development Ltd. immediately staked some 110 Cont 'd

6 -4- units in the area, The Timberline claims were subsequently staked to cover the northern extension of the Master Ace structure. F, GENERAL GEOLOGY Regionally, the geological setting consists of a major geological fault-break referred to as the Hozameen Fault,and is spaticially related to a number of old precious and base metal camps, The fault is represented by a serpentinized belt of ultramafic rocks separating two distinct rock types. To'the West is the Hozameen Group, Paleozic in age and consisticg predominantly of cherts, cherty volcanics and sediments. The Hozameen Group hosts a few known potential mineral showings, including the Master Ace zone. On the east, in fault contact with the serpentine, is the Ladner Group sediments of Jurassic age. The Ladner Group is composed mainly of slate, argillite and greywacke, and,.is a host to an old gold mining camp which, until recently, has seen some production from Carolin Mines' Idaho Zone gold deposit. The Timberline 4 and 5 claims occur west of the Hozameen Fault and are underlain predominantly by the coast range granites. Prospecting and geological traverses were carried out along the east boundary of the claims briefly mapping and examining the granite-sedimentary contact. Cont ' d

7 -5- The granite which is a hornblende granodiorite cuts argilleaceous sediments and siliceous cherts, The sediments and cherts are heghly silicified and form a hornfels skarn as a result of a thermal contact developed by the granodiorite, Near the contact and hosted in the granite is the occassional quartz fissure vein - most are not mineralized, The hornfels sediments have weathered surface iron oxidation due to fine disseminated pyrrhotite associated with the silicification, At least six (6), narrow (8 cm, - 0,5 m), sub-parallel quartz veins were noted occurring near the east boundary of the claims, The veins appear to extend into the Timberline 4 and 5; and, are occassionally mineralized with chalcopyri-te, molybdenite and pyrite, The prospecting and mapping was conducted at a reconnaissance scale of about 1 inch to 1/4 mile, A 1:50,000 scale topographic map was used with bruntun compass and altimetre readings. Prominent topographic features were used as controls. An overnight, two-man fly camp was established near the south east boundary of the claims, C. CONCLUSION The Timberline 4 and 5 mineral claims were staked after several mineralized quartz veins were discovered near the granite-sedimentary contact, The mineralized veins occur Cont'd

8 G, CONCLUSION Cont'd near the east claim boundary and extend into the adjacent claims Prospecting and limited mapping was conducted along parts of the contact zone: the majority of the property, except the northeastern portion is underlain by granodiorite. The granodiorite, in most part, appears to be mineralized with the exception of the sub-parallel quartz veins mentioned above, The hornfels skarn sediments are occassionally cut by felsic dykes: both rock types have only limited mineraliza - tion. Future, detail prospecting and sampling should be carried out northward along the contact zone. Additional mineralized quartz structures may be uncovered with possible replacement-type sulphides near the granite-sedimentary contact,
