3 Photogeological Report on the KJ Claim - Revelstoke E.1.D. A Photgeological interpretation of the RJ claim was carried out by the writer for the purpose of providing additional geological - mainly structural - information to and in the interpretation of previous surveys on the property and to provide additional correllative information. Air photos utilized for this analysis are designated as 6.C. 1606: The property consists of one claim of 20 units. Particulars are as follows: Units Record NO, - E at KJ March 1981 Any legal aspects pertaining to the claim are beyond the scope of this report.

4 2 LOCA TION APvD ACC ESS The property is loczted 65 kilometers north of Revelstoke on the ridge and the south facing slope of the Downie Creek Valley and ten kilometers east of the Downie Creek - Columbia River confluence. Access is by helicopter from Revelstoke which is a minute trip. A logging road parallels Downie Creek beyond the claim group and which is within three kilometers to the south.

5 3 The claims cover an alpine area that is predominantly above the timber line. The area is relatively rugged with many areas inaccessible due to cliffs and steep slopes. An ice-free cirque basin at approximately the 2,500 meter elevation provides the most favorable access to roc!? exposures. Elevations.range up to 2,800 meters above sea level with relief in the order of 1,300 meters. Sufficient water for all phases of the exploration program would be available from creeks and runoff from the upper portions of the property. Water may only be available during the snow free months of J h y to October.

6 4 The first reports of minerals discovered in the Big Bend area north of Revelstoke was of placer gold in February The discovery was originally in Carnes Creek with subsequent richer placers located in French Creek, a northern tributary of Goldstream River. In 1865 and 1866, gold valued at three million dollars was taken from this area. Somewhat later, lode gold deposits were being explored and developed with some lode mining carried out after 1915, however no shipments of ore were made. Lead-zinc fissure and replacement deposits such as the Keystone, Standared in addition to the J and L and Montgomery were discovered in the late 1800's to early 1900's and have been periodically reassessed in future years. In more recent years, interest in thebase metal deposits of the area has been revived with the discovery in 1973 of, and subsequent delineation of a significant copper-zinc deposit by Noranda Nines in the Goldstream River Valley.

7 5 In 1957 some trenching and diamond drilling was carried out on the Cent Pac mineral claims in two locations - one at the 2,400 m elev. and one at the 1,800 m elevation. The drilling was to test the continuity of mineralization within a large outcrop of limestone and dolomite. In July and August 1974, nine rock pits and an adit were reported as work completed on the KJ 5, 7 and 12 mineral claims. The pits were not examined by the writer, however indications of pit work was visible in the reported locations. In July 1975, a detailed magnetometer and geochemical survey was conducted on the KJ Mineral claims. In 1977 the writer completed a localized geological mapping program on the KJ claim group. In 1980 the original claims - KJ 1-20 lapsed and the KJ clain was staked to cover most of the former claim group.

8 6 5D CLAIMS Hole i; 1 drilled in 1957 to a depth of "915 feet" intersected the mineralized zone represented by the large outcrop.on surface. The intersection was between "166 and 276 feet". Pole if 2 intersected mineralized limestone from about "118 to 639 feet". This hole tias purposely drilled along strike of the mineralized zone to test the eastern extension of the limestone. The true width of the favorable bed was determined to be about 35 meters. Erratic mineralization consisting of stringers, lenses and blebs of high-grade mineralization were intersected in the limestone. The drill hole locations may not be covered by the 1978 location of the KJ claim. The magnetometer survey indicated two linear features in the eastern part and one magnetic feature in the north central part of the grid area which were interpreted as basic dykes or plugs. Two interpreted faults are also shown trending northeasterly across the property.

9 7 The increased magnetic response was considered as possible indications of pyrrhotite concentrations and thus possible associations of economic type of copper sulphides. The results of the geochemical survey for silver and gold did not indicate any significant anomalous zones over the surveyed area. The results of the geological mapping program determined at least three mineralized areas which locally contain significant mineralization. GEOLOGY ANE MINERALIZATIO E.! The KJ claim is located within an area comprised of Lower Cambrian quartzite, limestone, phyllite and argillites in addition to schists of the Hamill group of rocks. The Badshot limestone formation overlies the Hamill to the east with the Proterozoic Horsethief Creek formation comprised of grits to the west.

10 8 Middle and Late Jurassic quartz monzonite stocks and plugs are exposed in this area mainly adjacent and to the east of the Lower Cambrian group. The host rocks for the mineralization of the pertinent area are the Hamill group of rocks which between Downie Creek and Goldstream River are reportedly structurally expressed as a recumbant antiform trending ea s t-ve s t e r 1 y. The centre of antiform in the vicinity of the Ku7 property is expressed as the youngest member in the formation. The central core is of a limy facies and here is a crystallized limy dolomite as evident on Downie Peak. The limbs of the antiform which in the section zire the older members of the formation are comprised of increasingly pelitic sediments which in accordance to scale of metamorphism are converted to pelitic and/or limy schists, phyllites or slates. c The formation strikes east northeast and dips from 30 0 to 60 northerly.

11 9 In the Goldstream deposit, approximately 5,000 meters to the north of Downie Peak, mineralization occurs within a very siliceous member with an upward progression of a garnet zone and a dark chloritic phyllite. Below the mineralized zone the stratigraphy is of a limestone, sericite phyllite, biotite and chlorite schists. Mineralization on the Standard property south of the KJ claims is at approximately the 3,000 meter elevation and is hosted by greenstone, schists iind limestone. Above the greenstones are dioritic type rocks from which the greenstones nay have been converted. Dark banded biotitic rich phyllites are also associated with the mineralization which is of lenses of pyrite, chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite. Numerous barren quartz veins occur in the sediments and the greenstone. Original development consisted of about 650 meters of tunnels and raises on five principal levels. Mineralization in the area of the Montgomery showings (1,750 meters) and within one km southwest of the KJ claim is of pyrrhotite, pyrite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite with gold and silver values and occasional galena. The minerals occur in a silicified rock with associated garnet, epidote and locally dark green chlorite. Limestones occur near and above the mineralized zone.

12 10 The main zone is up to three meters wide of disseminated mineralization at times up to 10 meters wide. The zone was previously sampled and is indicated to extend a continuous 300 meters with indicated extensions of 275 meters to the east and possibly 475 meters to the west. Some of the reported samples on the zone returned as follows: btidth ( m e w Bl;u ZLZn QzLiUhm (portal) (along zone) west sulphide zone m lons X 4 m wide A second zone at the 2,300 meter elevation is comprised of narrow high grade strincjers or blebs of galena, sphalerite and pyrrhotite within dolomitized limestone. Two drill holes indicated a mineralized zone 35 meters wide with weighted sections of mineralization in one case five meters wide assaying.054 Ag/ton, 1.85% Pb and.el% Zn. oz Au/ton,.64 oz

13 11 The writer did not sample any of the above mineral zones however samples of other potential ore zones were taken and submitted for assay. Results are as follows: SW&UL Location KiL3L.h oz Aa/ton % Pb % Zn (metersl 326 A. 200E 1200M H. 600E 1600N Grab H. 1800W 100OW Selected Grabs K. 1600N 1100s Selected Grabs 330 H looe PAOTOGRAMMETRIC ANALYSIS In assessing the structural setting of the property area, it appears that on a general scale complementary structures developed from a major north-south and/or a northeasterly direction. A significant lineal feature two km northwest of Downie Peak is delineated topographically as fault scarps for five km. On the property the major structural features are indicated adjacent to an intrusive contact and trend northerly and also northeasterly conforming to the contact direction. Associated and less evident structures appear as parallel features to the northwesterly trending bedding planes.

14 12 CONCLUSIONS The photogeological structural analysis of the KJ claim indicated apparent northerly and northeasterly structures most significantly expressed adjacent to an intrusive contact. As mineralization on the property occurs " concordant 1 y " in association with metasedimentary to gneissic host rocks and that structures 60 not zppear to relate to localizing mineralization, the mzjor structures could have been significant in respect to the provision of the possible proximal metamorphic mineral regeneration.
