3 SUMMARY The Murray property consists of the Mur 1 20 unit, 500 hectare mineral claim that hosts three mineral occurrences (Minfile #082KNW096) within a package of Permian age quartz biotite and chlorite schists. Mineralization occurs as massive blebs and disseminations of chalcopyrite, bomite, pyrite and pyrrhotite with minor sphalerite and galena exposed in erosional channels at the Creek, Longsworth and New showings, The prospects were discovered in 1983 and limited exploration programs to delineate zones of mineralization have previously been conducted. This report provides a summary of the findings of a four day prospecting program conducted on the Murray property October 2 to 5, Approximately 260 hectares in the northern portion of the property was prospected in detail at a scale of 1:15,000. A total of 30 samples were collected from the showings and elsewhere on the property. Results of the prospecting program indicate that the Murray property hosts significant, poorly exposed lenses of semi-massive to massive sulphide. The best sample returned greater than 10% copper with 65.8 ppm silver and 6,875 ppm zinc from the Creek showing. Several other samples returned high concentrations of copper including 1.8% (sample 18454) 3.22% (sample 18453) 1.89% (sample 18461) and 4.17% (sample 17433). It is recommended herein to conduct additional exploration on the Murray property to determine the distribution and size of the mineralized showings. Detailed soil and rock geochemistry and magnlf geophysics in conjunction with further prospecting are recommended as a first stage exploration program. 4 1.0 Introduction This report presents the findings of a prospecting program completed on the Murray property from October 2 to 5, 2001, Prospecting activities were conducted by Geoffrey Goodall, P.Geo. and John Boutwell, prospector. 2.0 Property Description and Location The Murray property consists of the Mur 1 claim, a 20 unit (500 ha) mineral claim located on NTS map sheet 82W12W within the Revelstoke Mining Division of east central British Columbia (Figure 1). The Murray property is located approximately 45 kilometres south of Revelstoke, BC on the west shore of Arrow Lake. The claim is on the east slope of the Gold Range centered on Longsworth Creek at north latitude, west longitude (Figure 2). The claim is owned 100% by Orphan Boy Resources Inc. of Vancouver, British Columbia. CLAIM NAME 1.TENURENUMBER 1 : EXPIRY DATE 1 UNITS Mur October 25, The Murray property is located within a resource development designated area. There are no known outstanding Native Land Claims issues in the immediate area. Logging operations are active throughout the property. Disturbance from previous exploration activities has been reclaimed and there are no known environmental concerns on the property caused by such activities. Prior to conducting any exploration program, a Mineral Exploration permit must be granted by the Ministry of Energy and Mines. A Free Use permit will be required from the Ministry of Forests should disturbance of timbered areas exceed the allowance in the MinEx permit. 3.0 Access and Physiography A network of logging roads that leave Highway 23 immediately north of the Shelter Bay ferry temrinal provides access to the Murray property. To gain access to the northern portion of the Mur 1 claim, the Shelter Bay Forest Service Road is followed west for 2200 metres to the Dry Creek FSR. At 8700 metres on the Dry Creek road, the Longsworth Creek spur road leads south for 2300 metres to the northern claim area. The southern portion of the property may be accessed by the deactivated Longsworth Creek road, seven kilometres west of Shelter Bay. The Murray property is located within the Monashee Mountains of east-central British Columbia. The claim covers an area of forested and logged easterly draining hillsides ranging in elevation from 670 to 1200 metres. Longsworth Creek and its tributaries cut steeply incised gulleys into the hillside. The region receives moderate to heavy precipitation with snow occurring between late October and mid-may. 7 4.0 Exploration History The Mur 1 claim was staked October 25, 1999 to cover three mineralized prospects identified in Longsworth Creek. The prospects were originally discovered in 1983 by local prospectors Cameron and Jenkins, who staked six 20 unit claims to cover the showings. The Owners conducted detailed prospecting over parts of the property. In addition, representatives from companies including Billiton, Canamax and Noranda conducted several examinations of the Murray property. A compilation of the results of the early exploration activities by D. Leishman in 1987 forms the basis for much of the present report. Exploration conducted on the Murray property during the company property reviews include collection of 161 soil samples at 75 metre intervals on lines spaced 300 metres apart located over the creek showing and on road traverses transecting the area. A total of 23 rock samples were also collected by Canamax. Leishman provided eight rock samples from throughout the property for petrographic study. In 1988, a work program of grid establishment, additional soil sampling and a mag/vlf geophysical survey were conducted over 14 line kilometres of the grid. Thirty two rock samples and 342 soil samples were collected for analyses. Three areas were tested by backhoe trenching. Claims covering the key showings at the Murray property subsequently lapsed. The&fur 1 claim was staked October 25, 1999 to cover the known prospects. 5.0 Geological Setting 5.1 Regional Geology The region of the Murray property lies within the Shuswap Terrane at or near its contact with Permian age Milford Group phyllites and metasediments. The contact appears as a major northwesterly striking regional fault that parallels the Columbia River valley (Arrow Lake). The Cretaceous age Galena Bay quartz monzonite to granodiorite stock is exposed immediately north and east of the Murray property and intrudes both packages of metamorphic rocks (GSC Open File 288). 9 5.2 Property Geology The Murray property is underlain by a sequence of fine grained meta-volcanics, probably of the Shuswap Terrane. This sequence is described by Leishman, 1987 as quart? biotite schist and hornblende-chlorite schist. Outcrops of quartz monzonite occur on the eastern portion of the property and are likely related to the Galena Bay Stock of Cretaceous age. Petrographic studies conducted by Leishman indicate that sulphide mineralization at the Murray property is hosted in chlorite schist metavolcanics with quartz, chlorite, biotite epidote and garnet as the primary accessory minerals. Given the abundance of quartz and plagioclase, Leishman concludes the host rocks were originally felsic to intermediate metavolcanics. 6.0 Deposit Types and Styles of Mineralization Disseminated, semi-massive to massive sulphide mineralization outcrops in at least three locations over a 1.7 kilometre strike length at the Murray property. The mineralization is stratiform in nature (Leishman, 1987) and occurs in bands 0.5 to 2.0 metres wide. Remobilization of sulphide mineralization occurs along shears and fractures. Sulphides locally make up to 40% of the rock, consisting primarily of pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, pyrite and bomite. Three copper sulphide prospects are located on the Murray property; the Creek Showing, the New showing and the Longsworth Creek showing. The Creek showing contains the Jargest exposure of semi massive to massive sulphides. The mineralization can be traced intermittently over approximately 100 metres in a tributary to Longsworth Creek. The sulphides here are coarse grained and form irregular, semi-massive lenses and blebs comprising up to 40% of the rock. Disseminated to locally semi-massive sulphides are present at both the Neti showing and at the Longsworth Creek showing. The sulphides are predominantly pyrite and chalcopyrite with minor amounts of pyrrhotite. 7.0 Data Corroboration This report relies on information collected from numerous sources including Geological Survey of Canada memoirs, BC Geological Survey bulletins, the EC Ministry of Mines database of annual reports, assessment reports, Minfile records and private files Work Program Geoffrey Goodall, P.Geo. and John Boutwell, prospector conducted a prospecting program on the Mur 1 claim from October 2 to October 5, The work program consisted of prospecting traverses and rock geochemical sampling of areas within and peripheral to the known showings. Traverses totaled 18 kilometres and covered some 260 hectares. Twenty eight rock samples were collected and submitted to Acme Analytical Labs, 852 East Hastings Street, for multielement analyses by Induced Coupled Plasma technique. 11 9.0 Results Prospecting near the known areas of mineralization at Murray confirmed the presence of three locations of sulphide mineralization within metavolcanic schists. At the Creek showing, the sulphides occur as massive blebs and disseminations predominantly of chalcopyrite (to 20%) and pyrite (to 40%) with minor bornite, sphalerite and galena. Rubbly subcrop material occurs over a 100 metre stretch of the creek with three lenses exposed in separate locations over a 60 metre interval. Table 1 lists the significant results of the prospecting program. Table 1 -Significant Sample Results 1 Prospect Name Sample 1 Copper 1 Silver Zinc 1 Lead 1 Of the 12 samples collected at the Creek showing, four returned greater than 1% copper with a high sample greater than the analytical threshold of 10%. The Longsworth prospect is a small, poorly exposed outcrop of semi-massive mineralization located in Longsworth Creek 50 metres downstream from the confluence of the creek hosting the Creek showing. One of the two samples collected here returned 1.80 % copper with 12.3 ppm silver. The New showing, located in Longsworth Creek 250 metres upstream from the Creek showing, is partially obscured by thick alluvial cover. The four samples collected here all returned weak to moderately anomalous concentrations of copper, ranging from 0.21 % to 0.41 % copper Interpretation and Conclusions Results of the prospecting program conducted on the Murray property confirmed the presence of semi-massive to massive sulphide mineralization in three separate areas. The high copper content (0.85% to above analytical levels of 10%) of the massive sulphide lens at the Creek showing is a good indication of the potential of this prospect. Due to the steep topography encountered in the vicinity of the mineralization and the apparent thick alluvial cover, delineation of the mineralized horizon will be difficult Recommendations The Murray property warrants further exploration to determine the extent of copper sulphide mineralization. 12 the mineralized horizon outward from the main Creek showing. The initial exploration would consist of further prospecting, rock and soil geochemistry and magnlf geophysics. A budget of $75,000 is required to support this program. A second stage, followup program of diamond drilling would be warranted given favourable results from the initial, stage one program. 11.I Cost Estimate Cost estimates for the stage one exploration program on the Mur 1 mineral claim are provided in the table below.
