2 INTRDUCTIN This interpretative reprt describes rk cnducted fr Sherritt Grdn Mines Limited, Dryden, ntari, by Phantm Explratin Services Ltd., Thunder Bay, ntari, during March The rk included preparatin f a grid, flled by a ttal field magnetmeter survey. Claims inclusive, ptined frm R. Knappett, Rexdale, ntari, plus claims , 77361, 7843 and 78436, -held by Sherritt, cver the area surveyed. These claims are accessible by'flat plane frm Jellic t Knucklethumb Lake, apprximately thirty-five air miles nrth f Jellic. The grid prepartin invlved 23.8 km f picket line and 2.1 km f base line, ith picket lines at 60 m. intervals alng a base line bearing 090 astr. Statins ere established at 30 m. intervals. The field readings ere taken by a Scintrex MP-2 prtn magnetmeter and levelled against a Scintrex BSR-2 recrding base statin. The levelled readings ere pltted n a plan at a scale f 1:200, relative t a base f 9,000 nantesla. This plan as subsequently cntured (cntur interval 2 nantesla - space permitting) by myself and qualitatively interpreted.

3 DISCUSSIN The magnetmeter survey arrants nly qualitative cnsider atin. In general, the map cntains nly very limited magnetic.relief {f.the rder.f 10 nantesla, except at the east end and nrthest crner here it reaches abut 1,800 nantesla). Except fr lcal prtins, line t line crrelatin f magnetic field peaks are quite eak. Never theless, an attempt has been made t generate a pseudgelgical trend map, and the emerging picture is f an apprximately east-est treading anticline. The units sh lcal shrt bends hich may nt necessarily be real. The innermst magnetic unit, next t the anticlinal axis, cnsists f sericlti.zed felsic tuffs hich als cntains interesting lithgechemical gld values (cmmunicatin ith V, Scime, Sherritt, Dryden ffice). This unit may be bunded n the tp by an interval f shear mvement. verlying, are mre, thugh relatively unsericitized, felsic tuffs, flled by intermediate tuffs. The central cre area f the anti cline, including the first magnetic unit, is cnsidered t be f primary interest, particularly here there may be lcal drag flds r lcal magnetic anmalies.
