6 Lwering f Lake Hustn Anytime there is a rain event that is frecast t prduce a minimum f three inches f rain in the San Jacint Watershed, the Castal Water Authrity (CWA), under the directin f the City f Hustn, will pen the Lake Hustn Spillway Gates. The gates will remain pen during weather threats until the level f Lake Hustn reaches 41.5 feet-- ne ft belw nrmal pl elevatin f 42.5 feet, r the inclement weather threat fr the area is lifted. This pre-release strategy will be implemented each time a rainfall f mre than three inches is predicted fr the San Jacint Watershed.

8 Lake Hustn Gates The City f Hustn submitted Letter f Intent t Texas Department f Emergency Management (TDEM) fr cnstructin f 10 fld gates t be added n t the existing Lake Hustn Spillway Dam Letter f Intent apprved and cmplete applicatin fr new fld gates submitted in August fr the prject t be funded thrugh Federal Emergency Management Administratin Hazard Mitigatin Funds City's applicatin has passed TDEM's review prcess and received a very cmpetitive scre f 2.8 n a 1 t 3 scale, 3 being the highest. Nw the City's applicatin advances t review by FEMA
