1 Lessn Plan Reach: Ask the students if they ever ppped a bag f micrwave ppcrn and nticed hw many kernels were unppped at the bttm f the bag which made yu wnder if ther brands pp better than the ne yu are eating. In just that shrt time yu have dne tw steps f the scientific methd. Tday yu are ging t learn hw yu culd slve yur prblem using the ther steps f the scientific methd. Lessn: We will take guided ntes abut the steps f the scientific methd. I use pwerpint pictures t g alng with the ntes and as we g thrugh the ntes I will relate the steps and terms t ur ppcrn prblem. Reflect: At the end f the lessn, they will write in the jurnal sectin f the ntebk. They will reflect n the fllwing questins: What did I already knw? What did I learn? What d I nt understand? After, they fill in their jurnals, then they will share with their lab grups. Hpefully during that time, they might be able t explain t each ther the things that they might nt have understd. During that time, I will be walking arund the rm listening and prviding reinfrcement and sme further explanatin if needed. During the lab they students will need t identify which step f the scientific methd they are perfrming. They will als practice analyzing their data and frming a cnclusin that they will cmmunicate with the class. Anther way we will rehearse, is they will have a hmewrk assignment where they will be reading an example experiment. They will identify the steps f the scientific methd in the example and they will als identify the parts f the experiment. Review: The lab grups will cnstruct a mind map pster f the steps f the scientific methd and share their psters with the class. Retrieve: The students will have a written assessment n the scientific methd.

I ll cver bth dishes. Then I ll bserve what happens each day fr a week. D. Even after adding the dg saliva t ne f the dishes, the bacteria cntinued t grw in bth dishes ver the curse f the week. Hwever, the bacteria in the treated dish grew mre slwly than the bacteria in the untreated dish. E. I think I ll try smething else. I ll start with tw identical culture dishes, as befre, and use the same kind f bacteria in each dish, but this time I ll treat ne dish with dg saliva befre I add the bacteria.
