2 NCR Silver Quantum Overview What is NCR Silver Quantum? NCR Silver Quantum is an all-in-ne hardware slutin cmpatible with NCR Silver POS sftware fr Andrid. Hw is it different than Silver n ios r the Silver Andrid? The POS sftware features are the same regardless f which hardware platfrm yu prefer. Unlike the ther platfrms, Quantum features a built-in custmer display alng with a rechargeable back up battery and tw different types f USB prts. Pwer Related Questins What d I d if my tablet wnt pwer n? - First, check if the tablet is shwing a charge (see next questin). - If unit is charged, check and make sure that that the pwer buttn n Quantum is nt stuck. If yes, pen Quantum and unstick buttn. If n, pen Quantum, remve tablet and try and pwer up utside f Quantum - If the unit shws n charge r will nt pwer up. Try charging the tablet in Quantum. Make sure everything is turned ff (Quantum and Tablet) and make sure unit is plugged int a pwer surce. Wait 15min, then check charge f tablet. Remve the tablet frm Quantum, and charge tablet utside f Quantum using Samsung Pwer Supply. Nte: If the tablet, gets s lw that it will nt pwer up (in extreme cases) yu must charge it with the Samsung tablet pwer supply fr 15-20min. Hw d I pwer up my Quantum device? - If yu are facing the tablet screen, pwer n the Quantum base by pressing the buttn in the bttm left. This will prvide pwer t yur attached devices (like scanners and receipt printers. - While facing the tablet screen, press the left mst buttn at the tp f the quantum encasement t pwer the tablet n. Hw d I knw if the tablet battery is charging/charged? - The tablet charge is visible when yu are lgged int the Silver POS. - The tablet will charge while the Quantum pwer adapter is plugged in. What d I d if my Quantum base desn t seem t pwer n?

3 - When using the AC pwer adapter, check yur cnnectin t the pwer cable, try anther utlet. - We recmmend having Quantum plugged in fr 3-4 t fully charge the battery befre using withut an AC adapter. - If the tablet is nt inserted int the Quantum cmmerce statin, it will nt pwer n. Hw d I knw if my Quantum base is charged (s I can use it withut the AC adapter)? - If yur plugged int a wall charger, Quantum will be fully charged in n mre than 5hrs (apprximately). This is with all USB prts being used. The fewer the items plugged int the USB prts, the quicker the battery will charge. - Quantum battery will last up t 8hrs withut anything cnnected t the USB prts. The mre items added, the shrter the lift f the battery. - There is n battery indicatr fr battery within the Quantum base. If Quantum and the tablet are bth fully charged, the tablet will run ut f pwer quicker than the tablet. S, if yu re getting lw battery warnings fr the tablet, the battery in Quantum is prbably lw as well. Custmer Display Questins What d I d if my Custmer Display is nt wrking? - Make sure the tablet is prperly cnnected t the Quantum statin. Open the face-plate and make sure the micr USB plug is cnnected t the tablet. - Ensure the pwer buttn lcated n the base f Quantum was pressed. The tablet can run even if the base is nt pwered n, but the custmer display and USB prts will nt. - If the display is n but nly shws a black screen with numbers in the right crner, the Silver app and the custmer display have nt cnnected. Clse the Silver app, wait a few secnds, then pen the app again. T recnnect the devices, yu can als try restarting the tablet and the base. Nte that the screen will remain black until the Silver app is in use. What will my custmers see n the custmer Display? - Custmers will see the items being added t their ticket alng with mdifiers, price and their ticket ttal. - Custmers will als be prmpted thrugh steps fr tipping (ptinal), credit payments and credit card signatures n the quantum display. They will als have the ptin t chse between a printed r ed receipt. Taking Payments with Quantum

4 What credit prcessrs can I use with my Quantum device? - First Data - Glbal Payments - TSYS - Vantiv/ Mercury - Wrldpay - Heartland - Chase - Elavn Will I need t supply NCR Silver Custmer Care with an updated VAR sheet r credit prcessing credentials? T prcess credit card payments n Quantum, yu will need t request a RamData/Ingenic Gateway VAR sheet frm yur credit prcessr and supply it t NCR Silver Custmer Care. Nte: If yu are switching t a new prcessr because yur current prcessr is nt yet cmpatible with Quantum, yu will need t supply new credit prcessing infrmatin t NCR Silver Custmer Care. Can I accept EMV Cards? Yu can accept EMV payments if yu use ne f the fllwing credit prcessrs: - First Data - Glbal Payments - TSYS - Vantiv/ Mercury - Wrldpay Additinal prcessrs will be available in the near future. Hw d I swipe r dip credit cards n the Quantum unit? - Quantum features a built in magnetic stripe reader and chip reader fr bth EMV and traditinal swipe credit cards. - The card reader is lcated n the custmer s right hand side. - The credit card reader is designed s that the custmer is respnsible fr sliding their wn card. - Cards are slid with the magnetic stripe facing the custmer. There is als a dip area marked by an icn and ntches in the credit card reader in which yu can inset chip enabled cards (EMV)

Yu can accept NFC payments if yu use n f the fllwing credit prcessrs: - First Data - Glbal Payments - TSYS - Vantiv/ Mercury Can I enter cards manually? Can my cashiers access ther apps r a web brwser? Depending n the settings n yur tablet, yur cashiers culd access ther apps r settings. We suggest lking at the tablet settings t see what can be restricted s that the cashiers can nly access the apps yu want them t. Nte that yu can cnfigure additinal help links inside f silver that allw yur emplyees t access ther imprtant sites (like NCR Cnsle) withut giving them the ability t search the internet.

6 Quantum Hardware and Cnnectivity Hw des Quantum cnnect t the internet? Yu have the ptin t cnnect t the internet via Wi-Fi r a direct Ethernet cable. If yu are facing the tablet screen, the Ethernet prt is lcated n the bttm right between the USB and pwer cnnectins. What d I d if my tablet breaks r stps wrking? The best and easiest ptin is t cntact NCR Silver Cncierge t verify if yur tablet is under warranty, r t assist in purchasing a new tablet. - The Samsung Galaxy Tab A is currently the nly supprted tablet - If yu purchase a brand-new Tab A as a replacement, cntact NCR Cncierge. Yu will need yur device s serial number. - IMPORTANT: It is best t purchase a replacement tablet directly thrugh NCR t prevent issues with the sftware versin. D nt make any updates t the Andrid perating system unless directed t by NCR Custmer Care r Cncierge. Hw d I cnnect my devices like scanners, scales and receipt printers? Quantum ffers a ttal f fur USB prts. There are tw USB C prts and tw USB B prts. This allws yu t cnnect NCR Silver apprved USB printers, scanners and scales fr stable cnnectin. What USB accessries can I use? What accessries wrk? - USB printer - Grs60 - USB Scanner (Ls2208) Was I suppsed t receive USB cables with my Quantum purchase? - If yu rdered Quantum by itself (nt in a Ttal bundle), yu will nt receive USB cables. - If yu rdered Quantum as part f a Ttal bundle, the USB cables are included but differ based n the devices included with the package yu rdered. - Ttal bundles typically cme with the fllwing: USB cable t cnnect printer If yu rdered with a Scanner, yu wuld get a cable t cnnect the Scanner. Nte: There are ther cables yu shuld receive as well: Ethernet cable with printer, Cash Drawer Cable t cnnect t printer.

7 Can I use Bluetth t cnnect t my receipt printer? Yu can cnfigure a Bluetth receipt printer thrugh the Silver POS settings, but it is recmmended that yu cnnect thrugh USB fr the mst stability. What d I d if Quantum desn t recgnize my receipt printer during printer set up? Here are sme simple and quick steps specific t Quantum yu can try. - Make sure yu have cnnected yur receipt printer using the USB cable. - Make sure the receipt printer is pwered n. - Restart the Silver App - Plug int a different USB prt and restart the Silver app. - Plug in with a different USB cable and restart the app. - Pwer ff bth yur device and yur base then pwer them bth back n. - Call custmer care, yu have the ptin f setting up printers as Bluetth if needed. Can I remve the tablet frm my Quantum statin? - The face f the Quantum unit pps pen fr yu t remve the tablet. While facing the tablet, use the Hex key tl that was included in the Quantum packaging t remve the screws n bth sides f the Quantum face plate. Use yur finger t find the seam at the tp f the face plate, then pp it pen. Detach the charging cable and remve the tablet. EMV Reader Indicatrs There are 4 LEDs n the tp f the reader t indicate prgress f a cntactless transactin. In additin, there is a buzzer inside the reader t prmpt Swipe/Tap/Dip. Reader ready: The Red LED n the side f the reader will be On. Reader waiting fr card: The reader will generate a beep prmpting user t Swipe/Tap/Dip. One LED light n tp f the reader will turn n (Only fr Cntactless). Reader reading the card: 2 LED lights turn On. Card read successful: 3 LED lights turn On. Card Prcessing Errr/Multiple Cntactless Cards detected: All lights are turned ff t indicate that the cntactless interface is nt acceptable fr this transactin. Card Prcessing Errr: Only furth LED light turns n indicating cnditin fr use f the cntactless interface have nt been satisfied (ex: As an added security measure, transactin amunts ver a preset threshld may require a card swipe r insert.)
