INTRDUCTIN 1.1 Prperty Lcatin The Westin Prperty is a grup f 10 clais cprising 13 units and 520 acres, which is lcated in Strathy Twnship, District f Teiskaing, in the Sudbury Mining Divisin west f Lake Teiskaing, ntari (Figure 1). This reprt suarizes gelgical apping f clais , , and , as illustrated in Figure 2 (Map G-3451). 1.2 Access Access t the prperty is gained by the Kaniche Mine Rad which turns west ff Highway k nrth f the twn f Teagai. Fllwing the Kaniche Rad prceed 4 k t the ld ine wrkings then suth anther l.5 k at which pint there is a sharp curve. A further 450 west f this curve alng the rad is the baseline fr this west blck. Upn crssing Alfreda Creek the rad frks t the nrthwest and suthwest and the baseline lies adjacent t this frk. 1.3 Prperty wnership The Westin Prperty is held by Bjarne Antn Westin f New Liskeard, ntari. Title t these clais rests with the Crwn.

7 1.4 Previus Wrk Suary 1964 (Keevil Cnsultants Ltd.) n the Dris Lake Clain Grup, a 300 V self-ptential survey was dne 100 suth f Alfreda Creek in clai n the East Grid f the Westin Prperty (Keevil Mining Ltd.) Gelgical apping, sapling, trenching. Trench saples assayed up t 0.56 z/t gld ver 5.4 feet in the sutheast crner f clai n the East Grid f the Westin Prperty (Kanichee Mining Inc.) Grund agneteter and VLF-EM surveys including the area cvered by the current West Grid clais (Bjarne Antn Westin) Gephysics (agneteter and VLF surveys) and sil sapling and prspecting prgraes were cpleted (Ewanchuck and Westin, 1994; Westin, 1993) (J. Ewanchuck and B.A. Westin) Prspecting, gelgical and gephysical surveys, stripping, trenching and detailed sapling were perfred. 1.5 Reginal Gelgy The prperty is underlain by steeply dipping, nrtheasterly striking etavlcanics f Archean age. A series f afic t felsic vlcanic units underlie the area. A nuber f cntacts between the units are present n the clais. Passing thrugh the eastern clai grup is the Verilin Lake defratin zne. This is a reginal zne f shearing assciated with nuerus gld, cpper and lybdenu shwings. Mafic t ultraafic (gabbr r peridtite) intrusins resebling the Kanichee Mine intrusin are present in bth the East and West Grids.

Cpper-Nickel- The past prducing cpper-nickel Kanichee Mine is lcated apprxiately ne kiletre nrth f the East Grid clais. The Kanichee depsit is a assive sulphide depsit assciated with afic t ultraafic gabb intrusins. Siilar intrusins are knwn t exist n the West Grid clai grup and are inferred t exist n the East Grid.

10 Gld- A gld shwing was reprted during the 1965 explratin prgrae f Keevil Mining. The shwing is lcated in the sutheast crner f clai , at the east end f the East Grid. Trenching and sapling yielded saples assaying as high as 0.56 z/t Au ver 5.4 feet. Several ld shafts and surface wrkings are present in the Strathy Twnship area. Included is the frer Beanland prspect apprxiately 1500 etres east f the prperty. A shaft and extensive undergrund wrkings date fr the 1940's. A 3000 tnne surface bulk saple was reved fr test illing by wen Resurces in March Massive Sulphides- The felsic t afic vlcanic asseblages f Strathy Twnship are ptential hsts f plyetallic assive sulphide depsits. Cntacts between felsic and afic vlcanics are knwn n bth clai grups cvered in this reprt. GSC pen File 1091, Sudbury-Tiins-Alga Mineral Prgra Prject 4B, entitled "The etarphic ineralgy and cheical alteratin f the Teagai Greenstne Belt" indicates that the prbability f sulphide ineralizatin is high. Tw statistical analyses (Versins l and 2) f the lithgecheical data in this reprt shw high prbability f sulphide ineralizatin. Versin l f the statistical analysis predicts a greater than 600X prbability f ineralizatin. Versin 2 indicates a greater than 7007 prbability f sulphide ineralizatin. 2. CURRENT WRK 2.1 Line Cutting 6.7 kiletres f survey lines were cut. 2.2 Gephysical Survey and Mapping A party led by Dr. C.H. Hale carried ut gelgical apping and a agneteter survey f clais , and and during the suer f 1996, and a eber f this party drew the gelgical ap (Figure 4) in August 1996.

11 3. RECMMENDATINS This prperty is knwn t include assive auriferus sulphide depsits. Channel sapling n these fur clais ay indicate the extent and grade f the ineralizatin. In additin, I recend undertaking a gecheical and a re extensive gephysical survey, especially VLF-EM apping and induced plarizatin, which has prved s fruitful n the Heather Lake prperty. The ajrity f the utcrps cnsist f felsic vlcanics, chiefly breccias and tuffs, f a generally pyrclastic nature f Archaean age. Many f the utcrps lis alng nrthwesterly trending lines. A particularly prinent line f utcrps f felsic breccias lies n clai alst exactly alng the line running between the nrthwesterly and the sutheasterly clai psts (chain #4). Parallel t this line, 150 etres t the suthwest, lies a secnd chain f felsic breccia utcrps Chain #3), with tw re (Chains #2 and #1), nt quite s well-arked, each a further 150 etres t the suthwest. T the nrtheast f chain #4, abut 150 etres away, is fund anther chain f utcrps with the sae nrthwesterly trend, cutting thrugh clai and (chain #5), with re chains lying nrtheast at the sae spacing n clai (chains #6 t #9)). Exainatin f these utcrps indicates that the whle area is cut by a series f steeply dipping breaks running parallel t the chains f utcrps and anther series crss-cutting the rughly at right-angles. Many f these breaks shw shear znes and fragentatin, and se f the sulphide ineralizatin as well. Ten grab saples, nubered 96TMG1 t 96TMG10, were taken fr these sei-assive sulphide ineralizatins (see ap) n chains #5, #6, #7, #8 and #9. These await assay. While st f the utcrps cnsist f felsic breccias, a few cnsist f tuffs. In additin, afic t ultraafic dirite r gabbr intrusins resebling the Kaniche Mine intrusin are fund in the blck. Mst ntewrthy is a large utcrp in chain #5 lying acrss the bundary f clais and N sulphides were fund in these afic rcks; sulphides were cnfined t the felsic r esfelsic utcrps. In suary, the entire blck cnsists f Archaean felsic pyrclastic depsits, thinly verlain by heavily vegetated till. utcrps lie in nrthwesterly trending chains. The blck is cut by a rectilinear grid f veins and breaks, ne set parallel t the chians f utcrps, the ther rthgnal t this directin. The strata dip steeply. Se f the breaks shw shear znes which ften include sei-assive sulphide ineralizatins.
