3 NTRODUCTON An explratin diamnd drill prgram was perfrmed t test the cntinuity character f plymetallic lde mineralizatin frm hydrthermal systems Prperty The Dave claims are lcated in the Quesnel lake area f the Carib Mining Divisin British Clumbia The claims are held by Raymnd A Ck the recrd number is 77 lcatin Access The claims are situated apprximately kilmetre suthwest f the twn f Likely British Clumbia Likely is sme eighty three kilmetres frm One Hundred Fifty Mile Huse by a gd paved gravel rad The claims are accessible by the Hrsefly Li kely gravel rad Slum Gulch runs diagnally acrss the prperty frm the suthwest t the nrtheast Figure Histry The area f the Dave claims was initially subjected t explratin in 862 at the time f the Cedar Creek gld rush Because f the prximity t the Cedar Creek subsequent attentin has been fcused n this area up t the present The absence f a majr water curse hwever has limited the pssibility f placer gld Nt until the 96D s when discveries f vein gld Carib Gld Quartz mine sl Muntain mine Carib Hudsn mine depsits mtivated explratinists t cnsider lde gld did a real resurgence f explratin take place in the general area f the Dave claims The results f the resurgence were the discveries f the Carib Bell Big Timthy Muntain depsits These massive sulphide prphry cpper mlybdenum dersits were related t the vlcanics intrusive stck cmplexes nitial assessment wrk n the prperty nw knwn as the Dave was executed by Ard Mines N P l in the early seventies They established gechemical gephysical anmalies lcated in the nrthern half f the present claim blck One anmaly nrth f the Dave prperty bundary was drilled by Ard gd cpper gld values were intersected thereby indicating ptential fr lde re bdy emplacement nitial gelgical examinatin f the Dave prperty included mapping t t

5 2 f utcrps mainly alng rad cuts in particular the Slum Gulch utcrp abut which gechemistry was executed Particular attentin was directed tward highly altered znes where hrnblende dirite intrudes esitic vlcanics 98 Dave Claims Reprt Figure 2 This fine t medium grained hrnblende dirite structure which crss cut the vlcanics has in part been mapped by Campbell Tipper Assciatin may als be drawn t the Carib Bell cpper gld depsit which is lcated n Plly Muntaig the hst muntain t the Dave claims Gechemical survey wrk f limited size defined anmalus cpper va ues 2000ppm prximal t the rad cut utcrps central t the Dave claims This data supprted the Slum Gulch explratin mdel f an assciatin f plymetallic auriferus sulphides with the ccurence f hrnblende dirite mnznite Further substantiatin f the gelgical mdel f the Dave claims was attained in Aug 98 by way f a limited diamnd drill prgram The prgram was t test the degree f alteratin abut the hrnblende dyke nted in Slum Gulch t test the auriferus polymetallic gechemical values assciated with the altered rck Summary f Wrk Perfrmed Diamnd drilling was perfrmed frm the 5 t the 27 f August 98 using a JKS Winkie diamnd drill with a 2 5 centimeter inch diameter cre capacity Diamnd drill hle l was drilled at 450 cllared at 894 metres elevatin the azimuth was 260 Figure The diamnd drill casing was run frm 0 t 4 metres while ttal depth was 25 2 metres The cre recvery was 8 The l hle was terminated because the alteratin zne f the Slum Gulch fault was felt t have been traversed The cre examinatin later n revealed that the hle TD ed in a medium greenish gray grundmass with augite hrnblende plagiclase phencrysts see diamnd drill lg The percentage f magnetite in the cre was increasing t depth as was chalcpyrite later acquired assays revealed gld zinc t be anmalus at ttal depth This tends t indicate that drilling terminated prematurely

8 rj Cre Strage Alberta Split cre is stred at the residence f R A Ck in Calgary 2 RESULTS Diamnd drill reprts a certificate f assay are appended The area f drilling Slum Gulch is fault disturbed the hst rck is highly altered due t hydrthermal actin The hst lithlgy is principally prphyritic esitic vlcanics The cre reveals cnsiderable alteratin divisible int sectins predminately esite areas predminately epidte The esite is light t dark green with a fine t medium grundmass f pyrxene plagiclase cntaining abundant epidte K feldspar Hrnblende phencrysts are abundant thrughut n cmpari sn the epidte bs are ight t medium green massive fine t cryptcrystalline cntaining abundant pink aphanitic feldspar chalcedny Minr hrnblende phencrysts are identifiable rr while pyrxene plagiclase are patchy finely crystalline The varying degree f epidtizatin may be assciated with the relative degree f fault breccia develpment hydrthermal fluid migratin the cntrlling influence t Fractures are cmmnly annealed with calcite r dlmite These fractures trend at varius angles t the cre the lw being 240 the high being 70 ith the mean rientatin being 440 The mineralizatin f the cre althugh n the whle sparse revea s imprtant trends Chalcpyrite is predminately fund in the calcite r dlmite healing the fract res magnetite cncentratin increases with depth atta ining values up t 0 5 abut nn ca cified fractures pyritizatin increases in cncentratin in areas f decreased alteratin Assays were executed by Chemex Labs Ltd The samples were cllected cntinuusly in cnjunctin with the drill cring the results are prvided in the appendix Seven samples were assayed each f which cvers apprximately metres The values althugh lw reveal specific anmalus behaviur gld assays increase 2 times backgrund with J e

9 4 depth 2 zinc als increases with depth frm 5 t 68 ppm cpper fllws a cmparable pattern increasing frm 20 ppm t abut DOppm while ne assay attains 90 ppm Lead nickel chrmium hwever d nt reveal any variatin abve backgrund NTERPRETATON The lithlgical cmpsitin f the cre finds similarity t that mapped n surface hwever the magnitude f alteratin in the cre is greater This increased alteratin appears t be a functin f the degree f fault breccia develpment t may be deduced that the epidt izatin is a result f fluid migratin within the fault system Within this cntextthe prbable significance f the surface mapped hrnblende dirite dike which is quite clse t the drill lcatin cannt be ver lked as a heat surc t hydrthermal fluids Metal transprt wuld be by way f these fluids as well The specific paragenetic sequence has nt been deduced hwever it is evident that cpper mineralizatin is assciated with carbnates while magnetite is nt s assciated rather magnetite is cncentrated abut fractures is disseminated in the secndary epidte Pyrite appears t be primary in that it is predminately fund in the hst esite Since the bserved chalc pyrite magnetite attain greater cncentratin in the lwer sectins f the cre the mst prspective area fr higher cncentratins f the metals may be at greater depth than attained by this drill prgram The assays run n gld zinc cpper reveal distinctive increase in cncentratin with depth Again his supprts the idea f hydr thermal transprt f the metal bearin brines within the Slum Gulch fault system The cred secti n f hi ghest cncentrati ns ies between 9 metres 25 2 metres r ttal depth This implies that drilling t greater depths will result in higher mineral values which may be ecnmic 4 CDNCLUSDNS Gld zinc cpper are anmalus in the lwer half f the drill cre as is magnetite 2 The drilling stpped within the anmalus zne The area f anmalus mineral values is within the Slum Gulch fault zne which is cnsidered t have been the avenue fr hydrthermal fl uid ft
