Sandstne is white, clear, well cemented, fine grained, well srted, subrunded t angular, nnprus, cntains small amunts f bitite and muscvite, cnsiderable amunt f carbnaceus material and stingers f argillaceus and ferruginus siltstne. *The sequence f samples belw cntain lcal amunts f similar Stny Gap lithlgy. Hwever, the verall general lithlgy assumes a shaly calcareus nature that is typical f the Bluefield Frmatin. Als', since the Bluefield Frmatin is knwn t cntain sandstne f similar Stny Gap lithlgy, the cntinuus characteristic interval ( ) is lgged as Stny Gap sandstne and the interval belw classified as Bluefield.

3 Bluefield Frmatin Interval is chiefly gray a:t d red siltstne f a shaly, calcareus nature. Siltstne is smetimes variegated ( ) prly fissile, mderately hard and brittle and cntains bitite, mus c vrte, pyrite and carbnaceus material in varying amunts. Siltstne varies lcally frm a sandy siltstne t a shaly calcareus siltstne. Sandstne which might be termed lwer Maxn sandstne is recgnized in the intervals ( ) and ( ). The sandstne is whrte t Clear t dark gray and is usually fine grained, fairly well srted and is interstitially silty. Bitite, muscvite and pyrite are COmmn accessry minerals. The sandstne is bviusly interbedded with gray siltstne, which makes 'up 30% t 60% f the well cuttings. A sft, flaky, prly fissile siltstne is fund abve and belw these sandy intervals. Greenbrier Frmatin ""335 I A shaly limestne, dark gray t light brwn, with fragments f fssils is typical f the upper 100' ( ). The limestne prgresses dwnward t a gray, drak gray, and brwn, hard, crytcrystal line limestne, lcally litic and cherty.
