3 NTRODUCTON The T O S Mineral Claim cnsists f 2 units lcated n the nrth side f Brwn Bay Rad which branches east frm the Campbell River t Kelsey Bay Highway 24 km by rad r 6 km by line frm Campbell River n the East Cast f Vancuver sland Gegraphic lcatin is 59 8 Nrth Latitude and West Lngitude Ready access t the claim is prvided by the rad t the marina at Brwn Bay which branches ff frm Campbell River t Kelsey Bay Highway 9 24 km nrth f Campbell River Magnetic declinatin in 98 is apprximately 232 East decreasing at 2 5 annually 4 t 45 meters abve The highest pint n the claim is apprximately sea level and the lwest between 6 and 7 meters asl The claim is situated n a suth facing slpe which rises upward in a series f east west trending benches frm Brwn Bay t asper Lake The benches vary frm 2 3 meters t ver 3 meters in height with sme being quite steep The slpe is disected by numerus shallw easy traversed ravines lwlands n the west side Physigraphically the claim is in the Nanaim f the Ger ia depressin in the N W trending Gergia Trugh Rck expsure varies frm less than 57 alng Brwn Bay Rad t a pssible 67 n the upper benches with a prbable average ver the claim f Primary grwth f Duglas fir lie n the upper reaches f the claim The lwer prtin was extensively lgged in the early 9 s The secndary grwth is mstly alder and hemlck up t 4 6 em in diameter Fresh water is available frm asper Lake a little west and nrth f the claim center prbably sufficient fr explratin purpses Prductin wuld prbably need Mhun Lake 4 5 miles t the suthwest There are als 3 additinal small lakes in the vicinity f the claim 5 25 acres in Sze Mhun Lake is abut 8 km lng and 5 m wide Pwer is available but the extent is unknwn t the authr The climate is mild typical f the suthern British Clumbia Castal Regin The annual precipitatin is abut 52 4 em with abut 22 86cm ccurring as snw between Nvember and anuary Explratin tpgraphy permitting can take place n a year rund basis C

4 2 BACKGROUND HSTORY The initial and by far the mst extensive wrk was carried ut n the pr erty frm n the Sunset Grup where 39 meters f undergrund wrk was extablished A N W striking vertical dipping replacement Quartz Cluster alng a fault where much mvement was self evident was explred by 3 adits plus winzes sub drifts crss cuts and raises where reprtedly the quartz yielded 67 cpper Althugh the area was restaked many times the nly recrds fund by the authr were thse entered fr assessment purpses by Fur Seasns Manu facturing C Ltd f Vancuver The Claim Crup was then knwn as the FS Grup A lse grid was laid ut Ge chemical and Gephysical surveys were carried ut as well as linear delineatin by airial phtgraphy Significant areas fr tightened testing were defined But nt carried ut because the cmpany finances were needed elsewhere primarily real estate hldings REGONAL GEOLOGY The Campbell River Kelsey Bay area is underlain by the karmutsen frmatin a thick gently dipping euge synglinal series f upper triassic vlcanic flws verlain by the upper triassic quatsin frmatin limestnes bnanza frmatins f sedimentaries and vlcanics verlie the quatsin These three frmatins make up the Vancuver grup Quartz dirites and grandirites intrusives f the Castal r sland in trusive grups f Middle rasic Age cut all frmatins f the Vancuver Grup The LOCAL GEOLOGY AND MNERALZATON Massive bassalts cver a meter bed f pillw lava between 5 meters at the suthwest t 35 meters t the nrtheast lavas a limey sedimentary band ccurs At the base f the pillw this band carries the nly real ecnmically viable pssibility f mineralizatin n anything but a minr scale Cpper mineralizatin ccurs in this sedimentary band as brnite malachite azurite and chalcacite wherever the band is visible due in part n dubt t intrusives f the sland Grup penetrating the base f the pillw lavas with the cntact zne being NE SW trending

5 3 CL Faults emanating frm the band f pillw lava have been subject t great stress and m ement clusters f quartz replacements have taken place mst evincing sme cpper mineralizatin Linears near the pillw lavas are all tinted by epidte slutin Multi phase prphyritic enrichment seems indicated in the sedimentary base f the pillw lavas pssible majr scale enrichment f the intrusives is als a pssibility SUMMARY OF WORK CARRED OUT Q The middle area f the suth facing slpe n which the T O S Claim is lcated is densely vergrwn with fern weeds and underbrush f thrny nature making serius prspecting almst impssible The lwer slpe is parklike but seriusly deficient in rck expsure The adits etc f the Sunset Grup area were examined but the winzes were full f water A linear extensin t this zne as reprted in the F S Grup Ge chem assessment reprt was explred firstly by the authr and helpers and mre recently by the authr and Gerge Camsell Cnsultant Gelgist t Nranda Mines Many sample fr Ge chem analysis have been taken The results are nt in as yet and will be included in the next assessment reprt lavas ld rads were n rder t gain access t the area f the pillw pened and extended Sme lcated s as t create much desired rck expsure CONCLUSONS t is highly unlikely that an ecnmically feasible mine f ther than limited 2 3 man peratin prprtin may be fund in epigenetic quartz replacement clusters r in quartz veins The ecnmic ptential lies in the limey sedimentary layer at the base f the pillw sland Grup intrusives penetrating the pillw lava lavas and r in the Q

6 h 4 RECOMMENDATONS A nrtheast trending base line be established n tp f the massive bassalts Crss gridding be established in N W trend at 2 meter intervals frm the base line fr 8 meters t each side Cut lines are a must in the area f dense underbrush at mid slpe A gelgical survey as well as sil and rck ge chemical survey shuld be carried ut using said grid Sampling ver the massive bassalt need nt be tight 2 M 3 M intervals wuld suffice On the crss grid between altitudes f 3 M M at the S W and altitude f 5 M 3 M at the N E tight statining f 5 M inter vals are required in rder t be sure t pick up the sedimentary band at the base f the pillw lavas Linears trending twards the pillws shuld be examined as lead ins Where intrusives are visible careful examinatin fr dikes is imperative Any dikes fund shuld be tested fr gld silver cpper mlybdenum tungsten lead zink and magnesium tracer elements t examine the ps sibility f a prphyry within the intrusives C There is als merit in running tracer elements in the area where the base f the pillw lavas is suspected every 2nd sample fr example When and if the sedimentard layer at the base f the pillw lavas is determined an EM varificatin wuld believe be f merit
