3 -1- Qv SUMMARY AND CONCLUSONS Solomon Development holds title to the DEB Group of 1 mineral claims in Similkameen Mining Division, % miles north of Allison Lake. A V.L.F. - E.M. survey was conducted over 6 linemiles on lines spaced 5 feet. Several small, strong conductors were outlined in an erratic pattern, suggestive of conductive overburden, probably glacially derived clay, On out of the 5 highest anomalies this type of conductive overburden was actually observed in the field. The other anomalies should be checked as soon as the snow cover is off the area. The possibility of sulfide mineralization being the w cause of any of the anomalies is considered small.

4 - - illl NTRODUCTON The following report is a record of the work done to on the DEB Group of mineral claims, owned by Solomon Deve date opmen; Ltd. To the writer's knowledge, no previous work has been done. LOCATON AND ACCESS The claims are situated on the Merritt - Princeton Highway, about % miles north of Allison Lake. Lat: 49' 44' N. and Long: 14' 11' W. Access is excellent from the highway. CLAMS AND OWNERSHP lllrr Claim Name DEB 1-1 Record Date March 1, 1971 Record No Mining Division: Similkameen Owned by: Solomon Development Ltd. One year of work was applied to all 1 claims. GEOLOGCAL SETTNG The claims are situated on the north-south trending Allison fault. Geological mapping by the G.S.C. (Map BBA, Princeton, Scale 1" = 4 miles) shows the underlying bedrock to be part of the Coast intrusive complex (mainly reddish, coarse-grained, siliceous granite and granodiorite). A very common rock unit in the general area is the Upper triassic Nicnla Group, consisting of varicoloured (Lpt lava, argillite, tuff, limestone, chlorite and sericite schist.

5 - - GRD LAYOUT Lines were cut in an east-west direction using the highway for control. A l l lines were cut, chained, and marked at 1 foot intervals for a length of 5, feet per line. Line5/Sis termin- ated by a lake at,9 feet west. ELECTROMAGNET C FE LD PROCEDURE nstrument used: RONHA E.M. 16 Transmitter Station: N.P.G., Jim Creek, Washington. Frequency 17.6 Hhz. The operator proceeded in an easterly direction on the lines U and faced east while taking readings. n-phase and quadrature readings were taken at 1 foot intervals on parallel lines spaced 5 feet. Notes were also kept on slope direction and pitch and any topographic or physiographic features of interest such as swamps, creeks etc. Preprinted notepaper, specifically designed for the V.L.F. E.M. method were used to facilitate notes and minimize error. E.M. DATA PRESENTATON The in-phase and quadrature readings are shown in fig. in profile f orm. The in-phase results were then filtered using the Fraser filter w method. The filtered data is plotted and contoured on fig. 4. The Fraser method of numerical filtering consists essentially

6 - 4 - U of the following procedure: 1) The 5 foot stations are interpolated between each of the readings (spaced 1 feet apart). ) Each pair is summed. ) Alternate pairs of sums are subtracted to give the filtered data results, that is if the sums are a, b, c, d, e, f etc. then the filtered reading at each station is c-a, d-b, e-c, f-d etc. where a, b, c etc. are always going east. The purpose of numerical filtering is essentially to eliminate some of the spurious "noise" in the V.L.F. receptioh. Results of +lg and higher can be considered conductors. The negative results w are not contoured. DSCUSSON OF E.M. RESULTS n-phase readings ranged from +18 t o -18 degrees. As can be seen on the profiles, in-phase responses show sharp changes of over. degrees per foot. This type of response indicates strong sub- surface condictivity changes. The filtered data shows several, scattered, small anomalies of high conductivity. Some of these, i.e. nos. A, 8, and C are definitely associated with swampy areas and creek valleys which were observer! in the field. These anomalies are almost certainly caused by highly conductive clay and other glacial material. Anomalies D and E are more difficult to interpret. t must be borne in mind that the survey was conducted with feet of snow covering the ground and some of the swampy areas might not have

7 - 5 - w been noticed by the crew. The general pattern of the conductors is erratic and the probability of sulfide mineralization is relatively small. Nonetheless, the areas of conductors D and E should be checked as soon as the snow is gone in order to explain the high conductivity in these areas. R. WOLFE, P.Eng. March 1, 197.
