C. hstrong, assisted by 9. K. Buwen, under the direction of D, Lo Cooke, PhD. and if. Rkhardson, P. Bng. The Pi1 claim8 are located in the Qninega Mining Divieion at latitude M 57 17', and longitude W '. The claims are situated on Jock Creek at an elevation of 4000' ' approximately 14 miles north of Thutade cdke. Access Se by fixed wing aircraft to Thutade Lake from mithers (190 miles) and then by helfcoptex from Thutade Xake (14 miles) BISTORY bj0 px-evlours staking or exploratory work IEp known to have been done on the area of the Pi1 oleims. e The Pi1 claime cover a copper prospeat: which occurs bn the werstern margin of the Cassiar - mfneca intrusions. araeeitic flowo and tuffa, on the Pi1 claims are intruded by quarts feldspar porphyry dykes which are low in mafic minerals and eulphides. A granitic stoak, one mile in diameter, oacurs on the northern section of the clafm block. (Plate E-68-11) The feldspar porphyries consist of pidl0 potash Eeldspar and quart& phenocryste set in an aphanitic grounwe8. Minor amounts of biotite are present, but these mk6 are eesentially leucocratic. The granite stock is cbaractsrised by anhedral alkali feldspars, quam, hornblende and biotite. The tmtuze is equigranular. The volcanfc rock6 axe fractured, altered and impregnated with pyrite near: the contacts of the intrusions. Alteration of the granfte is evident in the local development of chlorite and sgbsioite. The porphyry dykes are relatively unaltered. Evidence of fntenrse gxaaturing fer absent from the intrusive roes. Chalcopyrite occurs as local disseminations within the porphyry and the altered sections of the gxanite. %%e grade of mineralfeation wae found to be 0.03% copper in grab sample from the porphyqt that in the granitic stook was visually estimated a8 leas than 0,294 copper.

4 - 2 - Minor disrelaufnations of chalcopyrite occu locally a quarte feldspar porphyry dyke and an eguigranular grmite stock, The intruded volcanic rocks belong to the Takla Group'of Trfaesfc age.
