3 1.0 SUMMARY The Darby property covers 2,442 hectares in mountainous terrain in north-central British Columbia, approximately 260 kilometers northwest of Fort St. James. Access to most of the property is currently by helicopter with a road through the northeast corner. The property is located in the Quesnel Trough which hosts numerous alkalic porphyry copper-gold mines and deposits from southern to northern B.C., in dioritic and monzonitic plugs and stocks. The main ones in the area of the property are the Kemess mine and the Lorraine and Mt.Milligan deposits. In 2005, Serengeti Resources carried out a program of rock sampling. This work yielded 2,030ppm Cu and 127ppb Au over 37m in the strongest part of the copper-gold soil anomaly. 2.0 INTRODUCTION The Darby property was acquired to cover a large copper-gold soil anomaly, reported from previous workers, that is associated with porphyry copper type showings and an aeromagnetic anomaly. 3.0 LOCATION AND ACCESS The Darby property is situated in the Omenica Mining Division just south of Johanson Lake, approximately 260 kilometers northwest of Fort St. James Plate 1). It is located on NTS map sheet 94D/9, at latitude 56 degrees 34 minutes North and longitude 126 degrees and 9 minutes West and between UTM mE and mE and mN and mNNAD 83, Zone 9). The Omenica Mining Road passes through the northeastern part of the property with access to most of the property by helicopter from the Road or the Bergie Camp at the northern end of Johanson Lake. The property is in mountainous terrain with moderate to steep slopes rising from about 1,450m to m. It is sparely forested with spruce and pine at the lower elevations and alpine vegetation above 1,600m. 4.0 PROPERTY TITLE The Darby property consists of five contiguous mineral claims 2,442 hectares, Plate 2) which are owned by Serengeti Resources Inc.record numbers has., has., has., has. and has.) 3
4 5.0 PROPERTY EXPLORATION HISTORY 5.1 Previous Work In the early 1970 s the property area was explored by the UMEX-Wenner Gren Joint Venture. Their work consisted of stream sediment sampling and an aeromagnetic survey over the property as part of much larger survey. Copper stream sediment anomalies, associated with aeromagnetic anomalies, were identified. Major General Resources Ltd. acquired the property and did prospecting Leriche and Luckman, 1991/1991) followed by 96.8km of grid lines, geological mapping and rock and soil/talus fines sampling, 109 and 848 samples respectively Taylor and Leriche, 1992). This work outlined a strong, 4,500m by 700m copper-gold soil anomaly, associated with porphyry copper gold showings, at the contact of propylitized monzodiorite and andesite. No IP surveys or drilling was apparently done. Hemlo Gold Mines Inc. did a small grid over a part of the area gridded by Major General and duplicated their copper-gold soil anomaly Gill, 1994). In 2004 Serengeti Resources Inc. carried out a program of stream sediment and rock sampling and confirmed some of the copper and gold anomalies from previous work Exploration Program A program of rock sampling was carried out on the Darby property on This program was based from the Bergie Camp at the north end of Johanson Lake and helicopter supported. A total of eight rock samples were collected from the main coppergold soil anomaly2,500m by 500m)to test for significant grades. 6.0 REGIONAL GEOLOGY The Darby property lies in the 1,km long by 35km wide Quesnel Trough which hosts numerous alkalic porphyry copper-gold deposits from southern to northern B.C. In the area of the property the Kemess Mine is located 70km to the northwest while the Lorraine and Mt. Milligan deposits are found 80km and 210km to the southeast respectively. To the west, deformed and uplifted Permian Cache Creek Group rocks are separated from Quesnel Trough by the Pinchi fault. To the east, the Manson fault Zone separates this belt from the uplifted Proterozoic/early Paleozoic Wolverine metamorphic complex and the Mississippian Permian Slide Mountain and Cache Creek Groups. In the Mt. Milligan-Johanson Lake area the Takla Group Quesnel Trough) sequence is dominated by alkalic to subalkalic dark green tuffs, andesitic to basaltic volcanic breccias and flows of similar composition. These volcanic rocks are intruded by syenite, monzonite, monzodiorite and diorite plug and stocks, which are associated with the porphyry copper-gold mineralization, and are coeval with the volcanic rocks. 4
5 7.0 PROPERTY GEOLOGY The geology of the Darby property is taken mainly from Leriche and Taylor 1991)and consists of porphyritic, augite andesite with andesitic tuff that are intruded by monzodiorite, monzonite, diorite, quartz diorite and pyroxenite plugs and stocks. Minor copper-gold showing, of the porphyry-type, are present and are associated with zones of propylitic alteration. Pyrite, chalcopyrite and malachite are reported from the showings. Thirty two mineralized rock samples from the strongest part of the copper-gold soil anomaly average 3,200ppm copper and 196ppb gold. 8.0 GEOCHEMISTRY The analytical results for copper and gold in rock samples taken are shown in Plate 3 with the results in Appendix 2. The most significant result were from samples OR-575,351ppm Cu and 224ppb Au/2m)and OR-581,841ppm Cu and 122ppb Au/35m)with a combined sample of 2,030ppm Cu and 127ppb Au/37m. Sample OR-57 was a chip sample while sample OR- 58 consisted of a rock piece every 1m. Both these samples were collected from the strongest copper and gold soil anomaly with both samples showing strong propylitic alterationminor seconday K-feldspar)with chalcopyrite and malachite. 9.0 CONCLUSIONS The Darby property lies in part of the Quesnel Trough that hosts the porphyry coppergold Kemess mine and two significant porphyry copper-gold deposits at Lorraine and Mt. Milligan. Previous work by Major General outlined a large copper-gold soil anomaly, associated with porphyry copper gold showings, that is large enough to host a significant porphyry deposit. The rock types and associated alteration seen are consistent with the types of rocks which elsewhere in the Quesnel Trough host important porphyry coppergold deposits. Rock sampling in the strongest copper and gold soil anomaly yielded 2,030ppm Cu and 127ppb Au/37m. As the Darby property has received only limited, early stage exploration further geological mapping and rock sampling is recommended. Respectfully submitted, Myron Osatenko, P.Geo. Serengeti Resources Inc. Vancouver, British Columbia June 15,
