Topography: The entire lease area is undulating elevated with very gentle slope towards north to south.the topographic plan has been prepared with 1 m contour interval its highest elevation is 301m RL and lowest elevation is 294m RL. The general trend of the drainage towards south east is by seasonal nallah and the general drain pattern is dentritic to sub-dentritic in nature. Geology: Regional Geology: The rock type of Nellore Mica belt has been stratigraphically grouped by Grological survey of India as the sequence which is summarized below. Alluvium Cuddaloresanstone Rajmahal plant beds Granite: With associated veins and lanses of pegmatite and Quartz. Granite gneiss: with inclusions of basic rocks quartz schist, chlorite schist, etc., --PERIOD OF DIASTROPHIOSM Precanmbrians: Kandra volcanic consisting of dolerite, tuff, epidiotite, hornblendschist, chorite schist etc.,schistose series consisting of quartzite,quartzschist,quartz-mica schist,micaschist,biotiteschist,muscovite-biotite schist, hornblendschist, chlorite schist phyllites etc.,pegmatite and quartz veins are mostly intrusiye in to schistose series of rocks along the foliation planes or structurally weak zones.thes intrusive are also subject to subsequent structural distrurbances. Mica deposit are confined to these pegmatites and their concentrations within the pegmatite have varied mineralogical and structural controls. Consequently, the mica mining activity has been broadly concentrated in the following sections of the mica belt. Gudur zone : Around chennur. Patragunta village Sydapuram zone :Sydapuram, thurapupundla, ananthamadugu, Utukur zone :Utukur, Kalichedu, Turimerla,Jogipalli, Talupur zone :Talupuru,Degapudi,Muudhigedu etc., Thatiparthi zone :Thatipathi and around. 8

Geology of Lease area: The schist belt of Nellore district is considered as Synclinorium with a gentle northerly plunge. The strike of the pegmatite is predominantly NNW-SSE with steep westerly dips. The folding movement produced shearing and faulting. This activity facilitated instruction of pegmatite in the week zones and formation of commercial mica deposits. The schistose country rocks are well foliated and the pegmatite solutions intruded into it through this foliation and solidified as elongated lenses. The strike and dip of the pegmatite bodies are concordat with foliations of the country rock. The overall strike of the pegmatite body in the area shows N E to S W with westerly dips of 45 0 to There is one pit made in the North part numbered as pit-1 size 160 m length. Reserves: The estimation of ore reserves is made by using the cross-sectional method. The geological cross-sections are prepared at an interval of 30 mt, across the strike of the ore body. The area of individual litho-units in each cross section is measured and multiplying sectional interval and tonnage is arrived by multiplying with its bulk density. The bulk density considered as 2.5 t/cum. The recovery is considered for 45% is quartz, 35% is Feldspar 3% is Mica, 7% sub grade material and remaining 10% is taken as waste minerals. Proved reserves are the reserves established based on the one working pit and available measures field data, the actual depth 40 m proved by working pits and old U/G workings are considered. Bench height will be maintained at 3m and bench width will be maintained more than bench height as per the statutory requirements to produce Mica, Feldspar and Quartz maintained at The lessee proposes to produce and for handling ore/waste material. However, Drilling & blasting techniques will be used for hard formation only. The ore body 10

is blasted and loaded by excavator in to tippers of 10 ton capacity and transported to the end users and dump yards. The mining of pegmatite will be carried out in sections A-A to E-E.during this plan period work star from south, advance towards north direction. The proposed mining area is centrally located in the lease area and away from village tank, and canal. The area also proved under G1 scale of exploration. As the formation is semi hard in nature, the mining will be carried-out with Wagon drilling, blasting, excavator etc. The drilling and blasting will be used for breaking the material. The drilling will done to a depth of 3m with the follow up of different length of rods as0.9m, 1.2m, 2.4m, 3.0m, as the length of rod is shorter the dia of bit will be more so that the follow up of drilling will be easy to drill and the loading will be small excavator. The Quartz & Feldspar produced will be transported directly to the consumer. The general ground water table is found at a depth of about 30m below ground level in the surrounding area. The mining operations may reach up to maximum depth of about 20m (up to plan period) from the general ground surface, which is above the ground water table. Hence, no ground water is likely to be encountered throughout the life of the mine. Blasting: For fragmentation of insitu pegmatite the blasting is conducted in this area. The blast hole of 2.0 m will be drilled with the help of 115mm drill rod, wagon drill and Air Compressor of 450 cfm capacity. It is proposed to drill 3m deep shot hole with 2.0 m spacing and 2.0 m burden. The details no Fuse wire and Detonators deployed for blasting and burden calculations as below: Depth of Hole 3.0 m x spacing 2.0 m x burden of 2.0 m x 2.5 MT density = 30MT of pegmatite produced per hole. Powder factor of pegmatite in opencast mine: = Quantity of ore blasted / explosive used = 3.0 (depth) X 2.0 m (burden) X 2.5 (Density) / [500grm X 1 NO] = 30 / 0.500kg 11

= 60 So 1 cartridge, i.e., kg of explosive is required per hole. Anticipating 250 working days, to meet the annual production of MT of pegmatite,16x250=4000 shot holes are required. For that, 2000kg (4000 shot holes X kg Explosive per hole = 2000 kg) of explosive required year. It is proposed to carryout mining operations by semi mechanized opencast method by adopting 115 mm drill rod jack hammer drilling to drill 3 m and blasting with conventional explosives like slurry, detonators, safety fuse etc., regular benches of about 6 m height with 2 slices of 3 m each will be formed. Blast holes will be drilled up to depth of 3.0 m with a spacing of 2.0 m and a burden of 2.0 meters. Drill holes are drilled in staggered pattern, each blast hole will be charge with class II Slurry explosives (superdyne, powertel etc.) of kg (1cartridge) and blasted with ele.delay detonator with D.cord ( cordex fuse). The rain/seepage water i.e. likely to be accumulated. This water shall be collected in the sump located at the lowest contour of quarry and the same will be pumped out through periodic pumping is done by electric pump of 10 HP motor. Deployment if mining machinery for opencast: The lessee is intended to engage hired matching compressor with 3 taps and 450 cfm capacity to operate 3 drilling machinery of 76 mm drill rods (in case of less than 1.5 m depth.) 14 SCREENING UNIT: Radha Krishna Mica Mining Company (RKMMC) holds a quarry lease for Mica, Feldspar and Quartz over an extent of Ha in Griddaluru Village, Sydapuram Mandal, S.P.S.R Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh state. The proven total reserve is 20,92,737 MT. As per proposed expansion proposal annual raising quantity is 1,05,327 MT. The approximate percentages of various minerals are given below. Sl. No. Mineral Weight % 1 Waste 10 2 Sub grade Material 7 3 Quartz 45 4 Feldspar 35 5 Mica 3 Out of the above the Feldspar & Quartz minerals co-occur in the mines. The feldspar contains some quantity of impurities & sub grade materials in fines form. It is very tedious & uneconomical to physically separate mica flakes from feldspar Run of Mines (ROM). Also, the wastes and impurities of feldspar ROM cannot be separated manually. Further the sub grade materials also need to be processed to recover feldspar, quartz and mica from it. The effective & economical separation can happen through mechanical screening & conveyor picking. Therefore, the company has decided to go a mechanical screening plant for screening of Feldspar, Mica and sub grade materials. Technology: It is a 4 stage processing consisting of - Segregation of +150 mm boulders from feed ROM which is taken directly to processing yard - Primary screening of mm feed through a 4 deck vibrtaing csreen which removes undersize impurities, separtaes large size mica and +30 to 150 mm stones. - Sceonadty screening through a rotary Screen 14

- Mannual Picking of large size mica flakes at Picking conveyors. Screening Process: ROM from the mines is fed to a Feed Hopper of capacity 40 MT. The feed hopper is provided with a static metallic grizzly having 150 mm opening, placed at angle of 45 angle to ground. This separates mm stones from the feed and these stones get rolled on to the ground & collected in a stock pile subsequently shifted to the feldspar processing yard for dressing & sizing. The mm stones pass through the grizzly and get stored in the feed hopper. A vibrating feeder placed at the bottom of the hopper extracts the feed material from hopper at a rate of 30 TPH and feeds it to the belt conveyor no BC-01, connecting to the 3-deck vibrating screen. The top deck of 3 deck screen separate +32 mm stones with mica and sends them to the picking conveyor PC-01. Here the mica flakes are manually picked & collected in bins. The stones are discharged to the stock pile. The 2 nd deck fitted with chute separates mm mica flakes and discharges to the stock pile on the ground. The 3 rd deck separates mm mica mixed stones and sends to the Conveyor belt conveyor BC- 03 which feeds to the Rotary Screen. The 0-10 mm waste materials get collected at the bottom of the vibrating screen and discharged to a separate stock pile through belt conveyor BC-02. The Rotary Screen receives mica mixed feldspar stones of size mm and removes mm mica from it which gets collected at a ground stock pile through separate chute. It also removes rest of 0-10 mm stones with mica which are collected through a separate chute from the screen and sends to picking conveyors PC-02 for manual picking of mica flakes. The stones are discharged to a stock pile. The clean mm mica mixed stones from the screen are fed to the picking conveyor PC-03 for manual picking of mica flakes and the stones are discharged to the stock pile. Capacity: Feeding to screening Circuit 30 TPH Annual Capacity Designed 50,000 MT Dust Suppression System: The fugitive dusts generated during screening process will be suppressed by water sprinkling. If required the screens will be provided with enclosures for dust suppression. 15
