1 52J13NEUee3 52J13NET17 RT LAKE GEPHYSICAL REPRT SQUIRT LAKE 1-77 NTS 52J-13 1 INTRDUCTIN This reprt smmarizes the reslts f magnetic and electr magnetic srveys carried t ver frty-six cntigs npatented mining claims in the Rt Lake Area (M.234), Red Lake Mining Divisin. The claims are recrded as fllws: KRL inclsive KRL inclsive The srveys were cndcted by Nrthwest Gephysics Limited f Thnder Bay. LCATIN AND ACCESS The prperty is lcated 58 miles nrth 12 east f Six Lkt, ntari. Access is by fixed wing aircraft frm Six Lkt t Rt Lake and then tw miles nrth n ft. GENERAL GELGY The Sqirt Lake area is nderlain by a thin (east-west) remnant {2-5 miles wide) f the Birch Lake - Uchi Lake green stne belt. Metavlcanic and metasedimentary seqences cm prising basalts, andesitic and felsic pyrclastics as well as greywackes, sandstnes and irn frmatins are present in varying qantities. The Sqirt Lake area is strctrally cmplex de t sqeezing and defrmatin by the Blackstne granite t the nrth and the English River gneiss belt t the sth. LINECUTTING A metric grid having a baselin-? azimth f 9 has been ct ver the frty-six claims. The winglines are perpendiclar t the baseline and are spaced 12'.n apart with statins picketted every 3m.
2 CJtM, HRIZNTAL SHTBACK ELECTRMAGNETIC SURVEY The Electrmagnetic srvey was carried t sing the Crne Electrmagnetic nit (CEM). This nit is manfactred by Crne Gephysics Limited. The srvey data is btained by a tw-man crew. Each man is eqipped with a cil capable f receiving and transmitting, and a pwer spply f three 6 vlt batteries. The crew ses the "hrizntal shtback E.M." methd f srveying. ne man transmits while the ther man receives, and then the prcedre is reversed at the same statin. The cil perates at fre qencies f 51 Hz., 183 Hz., and 39 Hz. The magnetic field (primary field) cased by an alternating crrent in the transmitting cil indces an alternating crrent int any cndctive medim within the range f the magnetic field. The cndctive medim emits its wn magnetic field (secndary field), and the cmbinatin f these tw fields (primary and secndary) prdces a resltant magnetic field. When the plane f the receiving cil is psitined in the directin f the re sltant field, there is a minimal amnt f crrent indced int the cil, and there is a minimm indicatin n the field strength meter set within the receiving cil. The dip angle is read frm the clinmeter when the receiving cil is in this psitin. After the tw men have reversed this prcedre and they each have taken a reading at the same lcatin, the readings are added tgether t btain a resltant dip angle. When the readings cancel each ther t and the resltant dip angle is zer, then there is nt any sbsrface cndctivity. Bt.when the resltant dip angle is 5 r greater than an anmaly exists and detailed readings are taken. A detailed srvey necessitates readings n at least tw different freqencies. This shtback methd helps t eliminate effects de t tp graphical relief and cil misrientatin. The transmitting and receiving cils are 9m apart and the readings are always pltted midway between the cils.
3 A magnetmeter srvey sing a McPhar M7 flxgate mag netmeter was carried t n the same grid as the electr magnetic srvey. Readings were taken every 3m, this being redced t a 15m spacing ver anmals areas. Cntrl fr the srvey was maintained by the establish ment f a magnetic base statin n the baseline at L96E, having a vale f 5 gammas. Check-in statins were set p at the baseline wingline intersectins. SURVEY RESULTS The claim area is characterized by a lw magnetic relief with spradic and discntins minr highs except fr the sth-central six claims where an xide irn frmatin is present. Recrded highs reach 28, gammas here. The GEM srvey indicated seven definite cndctive znes, lettered A thrgh G n the map, alng with several ther spris respnses. Cndctr A: is a shrt tw line respnse with a gd cincident magnetic assciatin reaching 6,4 gammas. The magnetic anmaly cntines fr anther line east and west f the cndctr. Gephysically this is the best drill target n the prperty. Cndctr B: is an 8m lng zne which has a variable cn dctivity alng strike. The zne has n cntins magnetic expressin. Mderate highs d ccr n L84W and L36W where the cndctr is strngest. Cndctr C: is a gd tw line cndctr with a cincident mag f 2,3 gammas n the eastern line. This cndctr is a fair drill target. Cndctr D: is a weak discntins cndctive zne in the nrth east. There is n magnetic anmaly ver the zne. The cndctr cld nt be de t massive slphides and n frther wrk is recmmended.
4 Cndctr E: Cndctr F; Cndctr G; is anther weak cndctr with n assciative mag netic anmaly. N frther wrk is recmmended, is a lng z ne a ssciated with the high magnetic trend in the sth-central claim area. The zne is shwn n the map a s tw parallel cndctrs bt is mst prbably a single zne f magnetite with a very high magnetic permeability. This wld give rise t a reversed GEM prfile which lks similar t the respnse ne wld expect ver tw parallel cndctive znes. The magnetite prbably becmes cndctive r is assciated with a cndctr n L192E where the CEM respnse is typically that f a single cndctr. N frther wrk is recmmended n this zne. is a shrt cndctr with a mderate cincident mag assciatin and as sch ranks as a gd drill tar get. Hwever, the area has been previsly mapped as sediments. If this is actally the case then the anmaly is f lw pririty. RECMMENDATINS Three f the cndctrs tlined shld be cnsidered fr drilling, namely cndctrs A, C and G. f these A is f a first pririty, C is secnd pririty and G is lw pririty. These pririty ratings will change pending the tcme f a de tailed gelgy srvey f the claim grp. Recmmended Drill Cllars : Cndctr A: L144W 42N Bearing 18 Incl.
